Wet, not moldy at all. Very nice and yes, super interesting to see the parts of the horse chestnut. Superb! Thank you for your expertise.

Brought back memories of my kids rathering conkers from around their primary school in the northeast of the UK. 🥰

Yes, stuffing them in pockets and up jumpers to try and carry more!

Really like the images you’ve given us so far. Look forward to drawing & painting these 2 later in the year, & am looking forward to the coming days autumn videos. I did hear someone comment today that a teacher of art like yourself, explains better to us beginners, which in your case is appropriate Thanks.

Love the name Conkers! We used to throw them at each other too but our variety of horse chestnut shells had spikes on them! 😂 I went down a rabbit hole trying to find the difference without much luck. They are the same beautiful colors though.
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebberАй бұрын
Yes the shells do often have spikes, I think they were just a little less prominent on this tree. We hardened them with vinegar, drilled a hole through and put them on a string. The game was then to take turns to flick the other persons conker and try to break it.

My brother would shellac the horse chestnuts attached to a string. They were dangerous.
@valsummers5330Ай бұрын
You will be happy to know that the chestnuts with the rind removed Repel SPIDERS!!
