Loosely tie two front corners off tarp together and then wrap a strap around knot and attach to your truck. Much more efficient. Mower will work too or attach to a tree and drive forward. I don’t always have mowers with me in this situation. Nice work!

What we do, when making leaf burritos, is use many 12'X16' tarps because they can be handled by two men. We leave them all full so that we can unload them fast and easy!! The way we do clean ups (now that I have a zero turn mower) is use the mower to push the leaves right up the ramp! Works great! HUGE TIME SAVER!!. Then unload them with a shovel and backpacks. Looks like this property may not be suited for that method.

Stan man... that's too funny LOL ;) You know those "ag-bags" (big 3/4-ton+ bags used to hold seeds/fertiliser/etc that they can't get rid of after one use) I use those big bags for leafs and lawn-clips (hauling em for my compost pile etc) But I'm doing "burritos" only to empty them into my bags. Wait for it.... 5yrs ago, I stop by a guy and asked him if I could have his leaves. He said "Sure!!"... I went back a few hours later to help/pick/grab them... as he was >>mowing-racking them... toward onto a 18'x18' tarp that he had laid in the middle of his yard (with 2"x6" lumber all around laying/holding so the wind would not flip it over etc) His lot is just about 22000sq/yrd.... about 3 burritos. I had brought my big-bag as I usually shovel leaves in there, but that time, all I had to do was to fold and roll the "burrito", and funnel/empty it in the bag. Been doing that burritos trick ever since, along with my ag-bag, loading em up while in the trailer though, and it does not take 2hrs to empty the trailer (I've put up to 400pnds of leaves in a bag ounce) The heavier and hard the bag is loaded, the easier it is to roll down (it's like a flat tire yeah) Get those big bags man. Ask any farmer around. They'll be glad to get rid of em ;)

I prefer actually Rual King, Tractor Supply and then Home Depot in that order. When we did take down a 40' Palm tree I used my Ladder and bought quickly form Home Depot a 100' nylon rope so I can cut it so I won't loose my Saw and also cut a loop out of it so I was strapped to the Palm when I cut the head off which my helper held to the other end because we had to lay it down within 10' between 2 houses.

If you had a good source of cow or pig manure, you could make some real good compost with all of those leaves. My father's neighbor makes quality compost using the manure from the regional feed lots in the Amarillo area of Texas and he uses shredded paper from the local document storage/shredding companies and saw dust and wood chips. For iron enriched compost, he mixes in iron dust and shavings from machine shops. His compost is so good that rice farmers from Mississippi and Louisiana are willing to pay the cost of having truck loads of it shipped to them. He even had to buy triple axle trailers so he could haul more with each trip to keep up with the demand.

No menards in CA. Dissapointment. However there IS harbor freight, and the leaf burrito tarps they have are relatively inexpensive especially with the coupons. Get the grey ones that last the whole season. I'd like to know what you're charging for that, our dump fees start at 40 bucks so cleanups can get expensiveeee.

Y'all did A lot of that the hard way. Just saying. You didn't need a tarp on the bottom. Start out by putting a rope,chain strap down the center on the bottom. In the front of the trailer stack all the brushy stuff. The rest of the trailer pile up the leaves. When you're done tarp over the top. To unload after you pull the tarp off extend your chain rope whatever over the top. Tie the top and bottom rope,chain to a pickup riding mower or any thing that can pull it off and pull it off. If you don't have something to pull it off with then just tie the rope,chain to something heavy and pull forward
@xenonram5 жыл бұрын
It needed the tarp in the bottom so it could "seal" and go up the sides. If you just put it over the top it and over the sides, wind would have made a mess of it. He did it the right way. The debris was too fine to only have a tarp over the top.

My little town comes around and vacuums up all the leaves from the lawns in the city...folks rake them up.....city composts them and I go get the compost to spread on the farm! While these same people bag their grass clippings (soil building nutrient) and leaves (soil building nutrient)...and then spread fertilizer on the lawn...lol What a great way to promote the economy! Woooooo #loveyourlandscaper #leafburrito Now I'm craving a burrito!!

Have you had any experience with them? if so was it good or bad, if not would you consider reaching out to a company that makes them to get a demo for the next fall season?

Maybe instead of wasting fuel and running your backpack blowers, you could have just rolled the tarp off the back of the trailer when you unloaded it. It's a better way because you used your backpack blower *once* on the job. Then, when you unloaded it, you used two blowers. So, you used the blowers 3 times. Twice on the stihl and once on your echo. You burned x amount of fuel and put x more hours on your blowers. What this means is when you are putting more money in fuel rather than saving money into what could possibly expand your business. (ex advertisement, new equipment, etc.) So even though, you would burn more energy flipping your "burrito", it would save you more time and put less wear and tear on your machines. (Just a stupid little thing that I saw that could be improved upon. You are amazing. Keep up the good work 👍) Prove me wrong, I'm fourteen and have a business of my own. I'd like to hear from a different angle
