I’m glad you got to Maine, and found the yarn shop on the side street! My husband was born in Camden, but grew up in Belfast, Maine. Route 1 is a great route to take you down the coastal towns. We lived in Boston for 5 years when my husband was in the military. You will probably have left by the time I send this…BUT if you are still there try going to dinner at The North End, Italian district. Great food, and lots of Italian pastries!

What a great trip. We have many types of maple trees in the north. The first on you were holding is called a Mountain maple and the second bigger one is the famous sugar maple known for the best maple syrup. Happy making...

Canden is a touristy place so yarn prices will be high. Small towns might be better, try googling while youre driving. Love following your happy family in the beauty of the northeast in fall, my favorite time of year. Wishing for peace for Israel and the region, hostages home safe ❤️

Maine & the ocean is so pretty! In Portland, Maine there is a maker of gorgeous leather bags called Portland Leather. Heavenly Yarn’s shop is a lovely yarn shop in Belfast, Me not far from where you are❤️

Very expensive. So many yarn shops in the US are very expensive and I don’t understand why they are so high. It forces us to look online. I love the shops but can’t afford to do large projects at the current prices. I have a large amount of yarn from many years so I find myself shopping in my own closets. Keep looking!
