@@refusingtoconform Try 40 years and even then only if you were willing to be a bit scummy. The best time for entrepreneurship was in the 50's-70's. When you had remnants of economic ideas that benefited the average person from people like Henry Ford and F.D.R. Sure this didn't apply fully to minorities as racism was the commonplace norm. Just saying the good parts that actually helped lower income and inequality can be adopted today without the racist twist. Things like paying a wage so that more than a small handful of individuals can buy what is made so you make more in the end. Taking care of the general populace that runs the country so they don't revolt and take not only the rich's riches. But also their lives. A.K.A Jobs guarantee and decent basic healthcare for all.

The precursors to Euro Truck Simulator, the Russian-developed Hard Truck series, was exactly what is described here. You’d collect a load of cargo and then race along a network of roads, with the first to deliver making the most money and also gaining the ability to hire another driver. To liven things up, there were also police gunship helicopters, landmines and mafia 4x4s to contend with if you hauled the more lucrative contraband.

Honestly, my favorite knockabout physics platforming fun came from Halo Reach, of all things. Forge World and insanely customizable rules made for a hell of a lot of fun! You see, back then, adding an entire level editor and custom rules to play with your friends was something a dev might do to entice you to buy the game in the first place. The cosmetics weren't always easy to get, but they also weren't able to be purchased with real money, making them feel like something much more special and fun to show off/appreciate. This stuff gave games long life and created good will between the creators and consumers What a time to be a gamer, that era was... And it's never coming back

"It's fun with friends". Don't get me wrong, I've watched a couple of very entertaining streams/vids of it and it looked like everyone involved was having a blast. But yeah, not really my cup of tea, mostly because I have few friends and they're not really into gaming, but also because I like gameplay that evolves over a longer time, rather than in short little hectic bursts.
