Please explain the coat size. A size 44 is medium?? Size 2? Size 52 medium?

So for the hysteric glamour varsity (older model) it’s labeled size 44 which seems to be closer to suit sizing (44) being somewhat large. As far as the rest it’s pretty standard 46,48,50,52,54 = S, M, XL, XXL; then 1,2,3,4 = S,M,L,XL

The tailor I used had to slightly deconstruct it but essentially he was able to cinch everything inwards to make it smaller. And thanks!
