I very very recommend for you to read the Fall of Constantinople from the Islamic perspective. It all started from the prophet Mohammad's prophesize 800 years earlier. He said that the best city in the world (at the time) will be open to the Moslem. Some of the hadits: “Whilst we were around the Prophet (saw) writing he was asked, ‘Which of the two cities will be opened first, Constantinople or Rome?‘ He (the Prophet Muhammad) answered, ‘The city of Heraclius (Constantinople) will be opened first!'” "Verily you shall conquer Constantinople. What a wonderful leader will the leader be, and what a wonderful army will that army be!" Even the reason and the circumstanses of why Prophet said that are very interesting.

Also with little bit of proto capitalism. Without inheriting Byzantine's governance none of your glorious Ottoman Empire would be glorious and could never function well and die out in 100 years just like timurid empire. Niether would ancient knowledges that Byzantines(Eastern Roman Empire) had inherited from imperial Roman Empire as rightful continuum of imperial Roman Empire, which sparked Renaissance would be safe and available to mediaeval Europeans and to us so there would be no scientific revolution.

After Byzantine forces were completely obliterated, Mehmet came up to the gates and recognized the emperor's corpse due to his clothing. Instead of being left there to rot, his body was buried under a tree, and on his grave was a stone that was oftenly covered in oil and set ablaze. Fun Fact: Constantine XI is actually also known as the "Marble Emperor" due to an urban legend about him. The legend claims that during his desperate counterattack, an angel came down and rescued him, turning him into marble and placing him underground in the Golden Cave near Instanbul, where he awaits to be brought back to life and restore the Byzantine.. No, the Roman Empire's former glory.. Something that I was also fond of was, before the siege started, Mehmed II told Constantine that he would be spared and given some land if he surrendered Constantinople. Constantine replied, "To surrender the city to you is beyond my authority or anyone else’s who lives in it, for all of us, after taking the mutual decision, shall die out of free will without sparing our lives." They rose up in battle, and fell in battle. Fitting. *sniffs and wipes tear away*

+Frano Šušnjara that really isn’t the case. It’s not like there was in big decisive battle which sealed the fate of Skanderbeg but there were numerous battles which can be shown in one video. The best way to make a video about Skanderbeg is if you made a video of his whole rebellion which would include the greatest battles. For the sources there is enough so that you can know how the battle was fought and the strategy behind it which is honestly the most important aspect of a battle.

It is said that during the final days of the siege, some "miraculous" events happened which contributed to the morale of both sides: For the Byzantines: There was a prophecy that the city will not fall until ships sail overland... well, we all know what happened with this. There was also a prophecy that the city will stand as long as the moon is in the heavens. Then a bloody lunar eclipse happened. An eclipse that looked like the Turkish flag. People began to pray and hold processions in the streets to seek God's help and forgiveness. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm arrived with icy pellets from the sky. The icon of the virgin mary that they were parading a few moments ago was toppled from its stand. Those in the procession tried to put back the icon and continue the procession, but for some reason they were not able to lift it atop. The flood that ensued broke the procession. Then after the storm, the next day, a huge fog covered the whole city (and this is in the month of May). People began to believe that god was abandoning them. When the fog lifted, people saw strange flicker of lights appear and fade in strange places, but most horrifyingly at the top of hagia sophia's dome. The light on top of the dome was slowly fading upwards and was so noticeable, it looked like it was on fire (and the hagia sophia's dome never experienced fire before). The believers thought this was the holy spirit leaving the city. If you were one of the defenders of the city on that time, if starvation did not break your morale, these events surely did. For the Ottomans: The found the grave of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, the companion of the prophet Muhammad, near the walls of the city. He died many centuries ago, during the failed attempt of the Arabs to take Constantinople. This was one of the holiest people in their religion and for them to discover this at this time was surely a divine blessing in their eyes. If you were one of the Muslim attackers at that time, this will surely boost your morale a hundred fold.
