Hey, Gidave Andrethi here.
It is done. Finished.
Three years have passed since my last Morrowind Remix.
Looking back in time, all of you guys leaving nice comments made me do this.
It took me two weeks and a half to finish this project. For all of you who kept hoping that another remix might come eventually.
Well, I am proud to present to you 'Fall of the Sharmat".
A Remix dedicated to non other than Lord Dagoth Ur himself.
Enjoy.

The beginning music gave me a visual: I'd imagine Dagother Ur perched atop the highest point of Vvardenfell and overlooking the lands below in the last light of a red sun to the west, reminiscing his former mortal life: His people and Resdayn in all its former glory before its submission to the Empire - His house was once revered and honored uttered exterminated in his abscence - How despite his plea to destroy the foul tools of Kagrenac they were left in his care and thus was tempted by madness and was struck down by his best friend... Thousands of years of remorse... thousands of years of sorrow... thousands of years of anger... He extends his hand and casts the first red dust imbued with the divine disease and his influence casting into the breeze and begins the blight. This is how he will gain retribution on the world and on the Gods who abbandoned him and his people. ----

“Dagoth Ur is dead. I hope we will no longer be troubled by his dreams. But I wonder, too, what the ghost of a god would be. And can a dead god dream?”
@LingeringFungus
@LingeringFungus 9 жыл бұрын
Chris Brewer Deep down inside, one must wonder if he really is dead... or more importantly, was he really alive after he became Dagoth Ur, or just merely a puppet controlled by Lorkhan... Perhaps, in the end, killing him was a mercy...

+Chris Brewer What a fool you are. He's a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence. How could you be so naive?

malus viovode “[Being a god] is a bit like being at once awake and asleep. Awake, I am here with you, thinking and talking. Asleep, I am very, very busy. Perhaps for other gods, the completely immortal ones, it is only like that being asleep. Out of time… It's nice never being dead, too. When I die in the world of time, then I'm completely asleep. I'm very much aware that all I have to do is choose to wake. And I'm alive again... That is the god place. The place out of time, where everything is always happening, all at once. In his sustained shadow immortality… [Dagoth Ur] is a mad god. He was a god, and now he is dead.-Vivec

The only thing keeping Dagoth Ur alive is his connection to the Heart, same as his Ash Vampires, when he dies he becomes ash. Anti-CHIM made him see the tower with him at the center, therefore, he think he IS the universe. He uses the Blight as his instrument of revealing this fact to other mortals, and this can be confirmed as true seeing what Ascended Sleepers have to say to you when you use a calm spell on them.

Let's not forget that while the other gods of tribunal and Dagoth are false, Vivec did achieve CHIM. Therefore, he can awake when he dies in the mortal world if he wills, but the others cannot. He could also defeat Dagoth Ur or kill the Nerevarine at any time, or even prevent the existence of either, but doing so might awake the Godhead

Dagoth was a good guy. I hope the untainted-by-heart version of him is in some heaven somewhere. Otherwise, I hope his dreams continue to trouble the (now non-physical) tribunal who began the whole drama. No one would have been able to stand against the deceitful Tribunal had he not used the Heart. Vivec only lets you live after you beat all his ninjas because he is too weak to fight dagoth, what a weasel. Plus Dagoth was the only gentleman, he lets you live in hopes of a fair match. He is the only one who always knows who you are.

I have always felt that Voryn Dagoth was possessed by Lorkhan, and was not in control of his own actions, or he wasn't himself. Lorkhan wanted to gain control again I feel, and he chose Voryn to use as a medium, seeing the best chance for results in him. Killing him is setting his soul free from the darkness...

"Sweet Nerevar" Dagoth really was a friend. His methods were unpleasant but we should consider that He was right about the Tribunal. Vivec was mostly neutral but Almalexia and Sotha Sil were full of deceit. Dagoth likely believed The Heart to be his only chance at undoing the Hypocrisy of the Tribunal. Unfortunately, the tapestry of fate is tightly woven. Nerevar was destined to return and his return was facilitated by the misdeeds of his ancient friends. The Tribunal suppressed a truth. Their Apocrypha enraged Dagoth. Dagoth's retaliation threatened the land itself and those mortals who inhabited it. They looked to the past and found the Hypocripha. Azura made a Prophecy. The Prophecy foretold of an Event. The Event created a Nerevarine. Gorramit, Morrowind was so frelling good! 😍

The real deal with Dagoth is, that yes he was a Villain but such a complex Character. I asked myself "was he really a Villain?", i felt happy and sad at the same Time when i defeated him.. Morrowind will always be for me the best game Ever!

When you discovered first hand what his plans for the Sixth House were, did you find them to be for the betterment of Morrowind? Or his own selfish vision of what he wanted it to be.

Woe to the soul of Dagoth, for he would be trusted to guard the tools he wished to destory. Driven mad by their power, he stared deep into the beat of the Heart of Lorkhan. How far the Sharmat has fallen from the eyes of praise

I want to imagine the eventual remake of Morrorwind in a timeline where Bethesda finally got a new engine. You enter the chamber to challenge Dagoth to a match fought with nothing but your bare fists and bodies.

I want to imagine a Bethesda game where Bethesda finally gets a new staff. As long as todd and his goons are running the show it's going to be turd after turd, regardless of the brobdingnagian IP of the giants upon whose shoulders that little elf stands.

Do I detect a subtle, but audible bit of "radio chatter" at the beginning of this piece or am I going insane? Edit: No, I listened again and really good like! I hear a voice at the beginning round the 23-25 Second mark, I don't have me eyes open while I'm listening so I'm off, it comes out through the right speaker...What is the voice I ask?

Music I dislike. But during the speech, which I had listened to many times in My life; yet, just now it pierced Me, how full of culture that game was. Amenity, proper tongue, old values. Sad lucidity, how less We are now, than We were decades ago. And that decades ago, how little it was, compared to even more distant times... Ech...
