Three things: 1. This makes me want to join a band; 2. The people at this show were so lucky and probably had no idea; 3. They still put the same amount of energy into their performances now as they did then, while remaining totally humble, and that amazes me.
@skiddz178 жыл бұрын
Being in a local band myself, the goal is never to get big. If that was your goal, that's where you see the energy diminish. The goal is always to have fun because you love doing it. When that attitude changes, so does the show.

I'm actually so upset i didn't know about FOB at this time, when they where small, and just getting started. I learned about it so recently, as in last summer. I fell in love with them, they are everything I want in a band, and I would give anything to see them live, or meet them. Like other bands similar to them, the whole area around them, they're good, but fall out boy is loud enough to drown out the world, yet quiet enough I can hear lyrics, and then Patrick Stump is the BEST. So don't say you like old FOB or new FOB better, just love them, and be glad they exist.
@Girfan12339 жыл бұрын
Thank you.. I may actually get to see them soon, theyre coming near me on tour thiss summer and Im really hoping I can go, which is awesome. Also Im really glad other people see it as I do, cause Im pretty alone where I live as far as even liking FOB. Im still very sad that i didnt get to be a fan back when they were unknown, because I cant claim much age as being a fan (and the only positive there is I missed the hiatus), just a lot of love for them... it would be totally awesome if we could like talk about FOB... I dont have anyone to love them with :(.. have an awesome day btw :)

I love the line "I know I'm not your favorite record, but the songs you grow to like never stick at first" since that perfectly describes me getting into FOB's older stuff when I was 12. Growing up (hah) on pretty much just mainstream pop and my parents' music, I had never heard any pop punk before, so this and From Under the Cork Tree were the first pop punk albums I had ever listened to. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the genre!

So I was 2 when this came out... and 6 when I first heard this band on rock band. I remember playing the game with my brother and all I was doing was begging him to replay this song and "I'm So Sick" by flyleaf. He would do guitar and I would sing. So it was fun for my brother to watch a little 6 year old scream to Lacey's part in her song, and freak out to this one which was his favorite band. After hearing this one, I made my brother play me the rest. Then I just grew up loving every album. So I can proudly say I have grown up with this band. The exact same thing happened with "Nine In The Afternoon" with P!ATD but I won't get into that since this is a FOB thing :)

in my opinion: they've definitely improved. I admit, some newer songs cannot beat songs from albums like From Under The Cork Tree, Folie á Deux and Take This To Your Grave, but bands change their music - accept it. Just be glad that they're still here and that they still give a damn to make amazing music for all of us. I think we all need to respect their decisions, so just please try to enjoy ALL of the music that they've created.

I don't like how people are saying old fob and new fob. It always has just been fall out boy. Sure, as a band that is capable of growing, they and their music is constantly developing and changing, but that doesn't mean that when you listen to it, you don't automatically think "this is fall out boy". From TTTYG to SRAR, every song is characteristically fall out boy, regardless of how "the sound" may change. So I say, I love Fall Out Boy, as they have been and will be.

+Kai Monster (Darien) You guys are killing me. It's great. I was nine years old when this came out. I was listening to them when they were putting THIS music out. When it was new. It was a simpler time.

I used to listen to this pulling up to school and try to line up the "dead on arrival" with the bus stopping directly in front of the building which I think manages to explain my absolute dread and hatred I had of the place lmao

This brings back my memories of my older cousin downloading the entire fob discography (tttyg and evening out) just after from under the cork tree released and showing me all their songs. My nine year old self was blown away. FOB is still in my top ten artist list to this day.

Wow, I am 35 years of age. I have been listening to these guys since I was a teenager. I still love them, they are indeed my favorite band to this day. I still listen to everything they have made & I own all of their albums. I saw Panic At The Disco open for them in GA (amazing btw) I have traveled through many states both north and south of me to see them live twice, and as soon as I am vaccinated I will see them again if they tour. I love these boys. They mean so much to me.

This was the best time to see them. Not popular at all, but having so much fun in small venues. Take this to your grave will always be in my giant cd case.

saw them with matchbook romance in 2004. I have seen them every year they've been on tour, even if I have to drive out of state. will always love fall out boy. my two year old loves this album in particular lol

Everything felt so stress free and fun in the early 2000s. Also I feel like a lot of the pop punk/emo revival music videos of the 2010's got their inspiration from this video.

@MorbidMoonflower9 жыл бұрын
...you can have heard every FOB song and still have Centuries as your favorite. You know, people like you are really annoying and ruin music for everyone. You have your favorites, other people have theirs and you aren't better for liking more obscure songs. Bye.
