I've been making my own homegrown pesto for several years, and it is always bright green, and I have never blanched the basil. I just wash it and put it in the salad spinner to get all the excess water out. Then, just like you, I put all my ingredients in a food processor, but I freeze it in ice cube trays! After the cubes are frozen, I put the cubes in freezer bags to store for the winter. I also never put salt in mine, and I, too, use walnuts! So you don't have to blanch the basil, which I think is just a non necessary step. I really do like the cooking parts of your videos 😍

A 💡 lightbulb moment for me... Those of us that live near the beach can use shells in lieu of bark with our plastic planters. I'm going to try this!! Thank you for the inspiration, Linda! 😊

Yes! I’m retired now but when I was working there were a few girls and we had an amaryllis race every year. It was always so much fun and a great way to start the Christmas season.

I had a contest with my grandson not only did he win (age 10) he got it to re-broom. Let me tell ya, Legos are expensive. 😢 So much fun, and a beautiful tradition.

It’s always fun to have indoor projects this time of year. I planted a few of the paperwhites I purchased from Colorblends today. I’m staggering the planting of the bulbs to have them throughout the holiday season.

Years ago, my mom bought me and my sisters, Amaryllis bulbs...the 4 of us, including mom, had a race to see whose bloomed first...can't remember who won, but we had fun!

Basil is luscious & fragrant. I sometimes like pesto without parmesan & without nuts. Just green basil + garlic & EVOO. CHOICES.

Hi Linda! I have found that, Amaryllis bulbs, tend to put out roots faster, from rooting with water. I use a bulb vase!

Interesting note for everybody…I just learned this recently. It’s much better to grate your own cheese than buying pre-grated (even though it’s so much easier?). In order to keep the grated cheese from sticking together, manufacturers add cellulose a.k.a. sawdust in the cheese. Now that I know that, I’m not buying it anymore. Lol.

They might do that at some stores but Trader Joe's grated cheese is just grated cheese.

I planted my first amaryllis about 4 days ago that arrived from QVC. Often I get the wax bulbs but this year decided to plant mine. Thanks for sharing.

If you soak the roots for about 15 hours they will bloom faster for you.
