Welcome back friends and thank you for checking out today’s video.
You want to Wild Camp with me? Let’s go!!
I wanted to fully try out the Nightcat Cot Tent with just the freestanding tent portion of the Cot Tent system so what better way to do that? Take it Fall Wild camping. I’ve used it camping with the cot, so let’s utilize the tent only and have ourselves a great campout.
I fully enjoy this tent and love the versatility of the cot tent system. I like that the tent is packable, light and the vestibule area is great for storage and wet weather cooking.
As always, thank you for joining me on the adventures and sharing in the experience. Stay safe out there in the wild 🍃

Hi Marlo! I have to ask because this always happens to me - Whenever & wherever I set up, I always end up with something like acorns or maybe pine cones dropping on my tent! I can even be in what seems to be a clearing & it happens! In a way, it was unnerving @ 1st, especially where I'm kind of a horror buff for novels & movies & well, being out in the dark & alone with this & other things can take a toll to a point! I've learned to get more used to it as time went on, but for awhile, it was something else. If I'd went to some graveyard like you did & had this go on, I'd be 💩ting bricks!! Lol!

I can't sleep and have been up all night. I've binge watched like 4 of your videos. You are a great companion for insomnia. I like your bowl pouch! I'm like you I watch a ton of camping videos on youtube. I enjoy living vicariously through others when I can't get out camping. That's one of the reasons I like your videos so much. You should definitely make a koozie for the freeze dried meals. I wrap mine in a shamagh to keep it hot while it rehydrates. I would get rid of the clock change, make it light out later in the day. Take care and stay safe!

I truly enjoy your videos that I stumbled on late one night. This 61 year old Texas woman has a lot of respect for you. Two years ago I grabbed my two small dogs and hit the road, visiting only a handful of states. I love how you remain alert to your surroundings and your love for the outdoors. I would love to sit down with you and listen to your stories. I'm not a lunatic but I feel that there's so much we have in common. Dont apologize for what you love doing on a recreational level,as far as burning one. We live in a free country so continue to enjoy yourself. We will never be able to do what we do without the haters or those quick to judge. Enjoy life and just continue to be you ! I dont think I would be brave enough to camp out in a cemetery so kudos for pulling that off . I will be looking for more of your videos. What a way to view the world 😊 please be safe girl !

Hey hey! I'm watching because I'm off today! 😁👍. I like the opening on the tent. It looks similar to a block of cheese with the first wedge cut out. Back in the late 80s I used to eat York peppermint patties but I kept them in the freezer. When I was ready to eat one I'd get it from the freezer and slam it down on the countertop and it would break in lots of pieces and I'd eat it that way.

When you said the Fire Dances,, I can Relate. From 2016 - 2020 I drove from NH to Arizona, to tend to business near the Border US and Mexico.. I stayed around the Safford Az area. Beautiful there, There is a Mount Graham there that Unfortunately caught Fire one Summer. It was frickin Wild. Mountain Lion Bear etc Everything was running off the Mountain headed for the several water holes around, ( Ponds which Az calls lakes, lol ) Anywho, Our Brave Smoke Jumpers are BadAss, Taking a Chopper to top of Mountain & Spending Days and Nights living near the fire Fighting it 24/7. At Night hundreds of cars trucks parked along one of the roads at bottom at night and there were Hundreds of small fires over the whole mountain range. It Looked Exactly like the Fires were Dancing. It had many many people every night just Mesmerized by its bouncing dancing flames..Thank God our Smoke Jumpers made it out. Unfortunately The next several Towns over was where they lost I think 19 Smoke Jumpers that the new movie is about those brave kick ass people. RIP Brothers and Sisters. God Bless you all. Took several years for Wildlife to start coming back full force. But ill never forget what all those flames in the pitch dark where once a beautiful mountain w lush green trees etc stood... Take care Stay safe Stay Healthy Positive and Blessed my friend. Amen. Peace 🙏 from Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka Boston Strong

Hey Gal… another BA video. My son calls me a “You Tube junky “… lol… I own it proudly and we share genres for sure. There isn’t much on TV… I’ve never been much for TV programming…Can’t wait to hear your review on Kent’s sauce. The cost is high… but you’re helping him out and get the sauce… we need to be there for each other as we can…I wonder if this is a Southern thing… but my Grandma would have called you a Firebug and she’d swear you would run the risk of “peeing the bed” ….. lmao watching your videos will cause me to smile regardless of the day I’m having.. Thank you, my Friend for all that you do ( along with having a great time loving the outdoors) to bring your videos our way!! Be safe…loved the geese…✌️🙂❤️ Wendy Outdoors.. had the same idea that you had about making a pouch for your meals in the winter… she also dehydrates her own meals.. in their 70’s, she doesn’t let anything keep her ( and sometimes Hubby) from the woods.

Hey Marlo! It's great to be joining you for another camping adventure! That air bag you used to inflate the air mattress is way cool! It looked so easy! It sure beats the way my parents and I did it on our Florida vacations years ago! I may have missed it before, but that's the first time I've seen it. Whoever invented it, great idea! When you were clearing the ground for the smelter (😆), the ground sounded like it was hollow under there. It may have just been the way your camera was picking up the sound, but I've had that experience quite a few times over the years in the woods and always wondered about it. Speaking of the smelter, a little aggressive amount of firewood? 😆Actually, if you ever did any less I would wonder if you were coming down with something, lol! The pork and rice with brown sugar sounds delicious! When I went to Valdosta to check on the house after Helene went through, I took some cheap versions of MRE's from Walmart since the entire city was without power and would be for some time. They were around $1.29 each and the Great Value brand was $1.00. Not as tasty as what you have, but considering they weren't bad. I have got to try some of the ones you have used. Those make me hungry even if I've just eaten, and the pork and rice is number one on the list! You're not crazy sounding to me about fire. I feel the same way and I've been that way all my life. I used to build fires in old Crisco cans when I was growing up and it's mesmerizing and very relaxing. My thoughts on Daylight Saving time? I think we should go back to Standard Time year round. Most people aren't on board with it, and I see an alarming number of people that actually believe it would get dark at 5:30 pm in the summer if we were on EST all year. So, since I'm the proverbial odd man out on this, let Round 1 begin! 🥊🥊😆 Love hearing the sounds of nature! The geese were just the icing on the cake! Geese have been heading south through here for the last couple of weeks, so winter isn't too far behind. I also really love nighttime camping! The night is magic to me, especially in the woods. Seeing you camping after dark was tops! That was a neat tip on cleaning the stove! You're right, nature provides what we need. Years ago I forgot to bring anything to clean my hands with, so I found a stream with a sandy bed. I used the wet sand and water to wash and it completely cleaned my hands which were quite dirty. Another great video! I thoroughly enjoyed this outing, especially after it got dark. I got the same cozy feeling that I get when I'm out there after dark. I'm glad I came along sweet friend! One last thing, I like the way you have your hair done. Very pretty! Until next time, have a great night tonight and a Happy Wednesday tomorrow! 🏕🥾 🪵🔥🌳🌙👊👍👍

@@AmericanExplorer Het my friend, hope you’re doing well. The smelter lives to see another burn 🔥 Even though I have a flextail pump, I like using the pump sack.. it’s kinda fun. I know what you mean about that hollow ground thing, it’s odd and makes you wonder if the ground has sunk underneath. Im really not looking forward to changing the clocks back at all and the internal fight begins to not fall into a depression. These dehydrated meals have come a long way.. fresh is always better but these are so handy to toss into a backpack and go ☺️ Good to “see you” my friend, thank you always and have a great rest of your week and Happy Halloween 🎃 👻🙌🏻🫵🏻🔥☕️

DLST was started to use less coal in the war. A war measure use less resources we need it for the war it's your civic duty etc. So can we end DLST? Nope nope NOPE never. It's still your duty to embrace it. If DSLST ever came under threat of the public's majority opinion like 80 90% that will be the opening shot of the propganda war. Except instead of the war, it will be framed as the environment. Use less resources save the environment.

As a solo female adventurer, I am always concerned with safety. I am prepped for self defense, but may I ask how you deal with the issue of personal safety ? For your pot. Maybe a Folgers coffee can lid or similar and a cheap small wooden screw in knob. As you watch a few Brit channels youll have seen British Mess Tins. A set of those to fry onion in make a gravy, a pot for instant mash potato and aother to boil some peas dehydrated or corn and a fresh carrot 🥕. Steak mash veg onion gravy. For me i find that is my go to meal its eay quick to cook and really good cold night dinner for me, comfort food. That being said theres soo many dehydrated meals and i hear you try them all out. Some are just a meat in sauce so i use uncle tobys rice precooked in the bag. Just boil the bag to warm it up. I learnt a lot of that sort of thing from chanells that are gone now

More expensive brands of Twig stoves come with a piece of fireproof cloth to stop scorch marks. If you know a welder they could probably give you an offcut from an old welding screen. If not. Any cheap ass Fire blanket will do the job. Just cut how much you want does the job well takes up less room. I have a few tent pegs someone crafted from welding rods. I bag them in and use the fire blanket as a wind shield. Fire starters. That noice I not seen the sap and lint before. Ill try that. Im a bit of a 🕯burner at home. So i collect up some pine fonds. Plus from a variety of pine that has tiny pine cones some of them. Scatter them in an 🥚 carton. Melt left over 🕯 wax pour it into the carton. Then just tear them apart 12 fire starters. Love that yent. I have a similar one but even at 1st look yours is way superior. Which is how I got here because of thimbnail ohh whats that i want that tent😂😂

Hi! That's true that it's getting dark earlier. I was just wondering about how campers and backpackers sleep and get up so early in the morning. I've been like a night owl for many years. I'm on vacation this week. I recently hiked earlier this evening into the early night for about 3.5 miles with a 30L day pack and a few other packs to train for strength and endurance at an easy pace. Then I cooked and ate a vegetable stir-fry and went to bed a little bit late at night. I saw your video about the Dragoon Unlimited Ridgeback 1 Man Bivy Tent, and then I bought one for myself last summer. I also would like for people to leave daylight savings time alone rather than changing the time back and forth. They don't seem to have made any progress on The Sunshine Protection Act.

3:23 - one if those improvised rakes that somebody like Corporal's Corner always seens to "find" could get that job done quicker? I have no idea where & how he manages to always find 3 pronged sticks to act as one in his videos? I've tried looking & the best I ever got was a ",Y branch" that broke very quickly! Ended up just "foot clearing" whatever brush & leaves were around. Later on, although it was a bit more weight, I found a really stiff brustled broom and that worked beautifully, even more so for any extra things my foot traffic might've brought into my tent!

Thanks for the mention on the recommended hike. I hope you make a video of it. Check out the haunted Bridgewater triangle/ Hocomock swamp in Mass. It has everything from big foot to ghost. (Although I didn't see any, but still a fun hike.)🎉

@@ExplorewithmeMarloC Lol! My 1st time hearing a fisher cat in heat was out that way & Holy 💩!! What an ungodly noise! In an area like that, something like 1 of those gives it a much, much different vibe! Closest thing next to 1 of those might be a vixen fox in heat too or, although I never heard 1 IRL where I never went down there might be a panther out in the Glades of FLA., I did get to hear some in video courtesy of some YT channel, so good enough for me!

@@randykellogg8734 I’ve noticed that male AND female solo campers stay up as late as possible before going to bed.. it lessens the probability of anyone wandering through. It’s an observation Ive made watching some solo campers be it female or male. There’s absolutely scummy people out there. I wont get into what I carry but I carry protection. I appreciate you checking this out.. thank you so much.

@@ExplorewithmeMarloC Some silly stuff to carry but then again, not really! -> 1- Android replica of "Jason" complete with machete! You may have to have lots of $ & good connections for this!? 2- I would imagine bear spray just because, even if no bears are around. 3- A MAGNUM! May get the job done just that much quicker! Lol!
