Welcome back friends and thank you for checking out today’s video.
We had a 3 hour drive up to Western Massachusetts, we checked out an absolutely amazing Cambodian Buddhist Temple, shrine and prayer gardens. We literally camped out on the side of a busy road on this one, it wasn’t what I expected but we make the best of it.
We saw some wildlife and maybe you can help me identify the growling outside of my tent… it really had me on edge. We talk about the weeks’ events, who I enjoy watching on KZbin and general chit chat. It was off to McDogfood for breakfast and we had the best tasting but not so good for you, sandwich. See the flavor hack I show you… it’s delicious.
New England Peace Pagoda: newenglandpeac...
Stick around til the end if you want to see some urban exploring and thank you for coming along.
As always, thank you for joining me on my adventures and sharing in the experience 🍃

Hey Gal… wow… I have never seen such a serene peaceful place in my life. The peacefulness starts from the time the trees clear to the minute you see the architectural wonder that is this building. Love your bivy. You are doing the hard work for us. In the future, we know to ask about it being in their backyard. I wouldn’t have thought to ask that. I’m like you.. I’d feel weird about being in view. Like I said you’ve blazed the way for us. I’m coming to New England to explore as soon as I can. I’ve never been on any kind of outing without forgetting something. I hate to be eaten alive…lol .. I watch all those channels you mentioned. When I got sick I lost my apartment and I swear I could do VanLife.. I’m addicted to the UK… buying 300 y/o properties to renovate.. from Feb to Oct I watch the hikers on the Appalachian Trail. Ok.. I’m chatty too Thank you My Friend…love your content.. always!!✌️🙂❤️ oh but wait… lmao OML.. in someone’s back yard??? Killer raccoons .. OMG… I would have assumed scooted that tent to the car… ✌️🙂❤️🤪🤨💩

Hey my friend.. how are you? Good I hope. The Shrine & Pagoda were amazing, I totally felt transported into another culture and country. Im pretty happy with this bivy/tent and want to use it more and rain test it. This camp spot wasn’t bad but being in sight even for a brief drive by sighting made me feel slightly weird but it was a great experience in a beautiful area. If you come to New England we definitely have to get together ☺️ Im addicted to all types of camping channels and 99% of them are from UK. They have the most amazing countryside’s I’ve ever seen and they are out there really doing it well. Van lifers always interest me too. That was the first time camping that I’ve had an animal that close to my tent at night… that I was aware of anyway 😅 Have a great rest of your week my friend ☺️🫵🏻🤗💜☕️🍃🏕️

Ha ha, better you camping in the yard than me...I be like hey where's the milk in their fridge?" I am that crazy relative tenting in the yard!...lol😊😅..the next time a wild animal comes around, scrape your fingers on the nylon vigorously. Wild animals don't like unnatural sounds, and the flying sounds were probably an owl🦉 Nice video. Peace pogada was pretty cool, too. You've probably heard of the app called dyrt for free camping. Thanks for making the video. Fun girl! 😊

Hey Marlo! I'm glad you included the footage of your trip up there! That sure is some beautiful countryside up there! When I was a child and my dad was taking us for a drive, and the pavement ran out I always said that was where the tax money ran out! The paved part bears a strong resemblance to the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway out from Blairsville, Georgia. I very much prefer the roads less travelled myself. That pagoda and the other building were incredible. I'm glad you decided to stop there! It was absolutely beautiful! I had never heard of it and it was amazing to see! When you stopped at the package store and chose the beer called "Hazy", I thought this was going to turn into another "Dinner and a Show with Marlo!" 😆It seems you got buzzed enough off the caffeine in that Coke, so it was probably wise not to drink that whole beer, lol! I think this hipcamp experience was a good thing in that it reminds people to do their due diligence when checking out a location. It definitely pays to get all the information possible so there are no surprises, or at least a minimal number of surprises. I agree the world is going to 🔥🔥in a 🧺real fast. As to the assassination attempt, security was botched from the get-go. People told police when they saw the guy climbing up the building and they were blown off. Contrary to what the Secret Service director said, the building was within the security perimeter and the roof pitch was slight, not steep. There was no excuse for this to have not been stopped. The whole thing lends credence to the idea that it was intentionally not stopped, and of course the shooter bought the farm immediately after. This had some Lee Harvey Oswald vibes to it for sure. If it was just incompetence, I find it hard to believe that they're capable of that level. I like your characterization of McDonald's food, McDogFood, lol! It reminded me of back in the day when it actually became a bit of a thing for people to eat dog food. I don't know about now, but then you could get beef stew, prime rib in gravy, and a variety of other things and at the time it was cheaper than people food. Neither me nor my parents cared to give that a try though! Those Egg McMuffins are good though. I haven't tried putting the hashbrowns on the sandwich, so I'll have to give that a try sometime and I'll thank you know in advance! 😊 Regarding the growling, that sounded like a bobcat. It could have been anything, but it didn't sound like a large animal, and the growl didn't quite sound like a coyote. The hospital was a very cool find! Lights on and everything! You said it was a homeless hangout and also a hangout in general, and it sounded like your weren't alone when you were there. At 1:22:48 there was a male voice. It was right at the edit cut. I couldn't make out what he said though. I agree about the things that could have been donated at the time it closed. Some hospitals in rural areas might have been very happy to get it. It was cool seeing the old school things like the x-ray viewer and surgical lights. This was a very neat find, and the window shade outtro was cool! I enjoyed this video, and I look forward to seeing you in the next one sweet friend! 🛣🏕🏥👊👍👍

Hey my friend ☺️ I had the best time out here even though my site wasn’t as private as I had anticipated. I think i was just excited to get on this adventure and just booked it prematurely without really looking deeper into the descriptions. The voice you heard in that hospital wasn’t anyone homeless, at that particular time in life i was with another explorer who was getting his own footage. The kid at the liquor store had zero knowledge of what he was selling. I asked him questions and he was like idk, an IPA is a light beer 😂 but it’s also my fault for not READING THE CAN! Lol!!!! 6.3 percent alcohol is NOT a light beer. I try to stay away from McDonald’s but sometimes it’s just what you want/need. The growls were probably bigger than the creature that created it but it was freaking me out for sure. I always appreciate your comments my friend and I hope you have an awesome week 🙌🏻🫵🏻☺️☕️🥵🍃

Hi Marlo... enjoyed your video. Glad to see you using the Dragoon Ridgeback. Just purchased a new bergen (backpack) that will carry mine and the rest of my gear. I'm in the deep south and the heat & humidity here... 105° F + heat index. I'm waiting for September/October before I take mine camping. And I can't eat hot food in this heat... We only heated our military field MREs when it was 70 and below. Coffee, however, is always good anytime. Also took a liking to Earl Grey when I was liaison to the Royal Navy. I too am fond of the UK/EU outdoors channels... Hampshire Outdoors UK, TA Outdoors - Wales UK, Bushcraft Buddy - Germany, Flying Haggis - Scotland, Tree Deep Outdoors UK, Survivaland - Croatia. I've never heard of Hip Camping. Will check it out. The Pagoda/Temple was extremely beautiful. Take care ATB. p.s. just a suggestion... a more powerful flashlight, at least 1,000 lumens with a 200m "throw" (beam distance). A powerful light will often chase a critter away. And perhaps some critter deterrent spray, or even a decent camp perimeter "alarm". I wouldn't even try to guess what was growling... small/medium wild canine or feline.

I like this bivy style tent a lot. The fly holds heat but having it up on both sides gave me some and i only mean some.. air flow. I can’t even imagine the humidity you’re dealing with down south. 🥵 TA Outdoors is another great channel I watch and thank you for the other channel recommendations, I will absolutely give them a look as I love watching other outdoor channels in their beautiful locations. Hipcamping has become a favorite alternative to a regular campground, you can find private wooded areas away from the masses, this was my fault in not delving deeper into this spot. Stay safe out there and I appreciate your time. Have a great week 🙂 Ps, thank you for your service.

Good morning and happy Sunday to you! I loved this adventure, thank you for sharing...(lotta talking coming) The scenery was beautiful; definitely therapeutic, the sadness of an adventure being over for me is usually outweighed by that sense of accomplishment and peace, it's about the journey, beginning to end. You might know the word "coddiwompler", which means "one who travels with intent to an unknown destination. " I love your wit and humor; just cause a joke is old don't make it bad...I always thought the first thing you say to a horse is, "Hey!" 🙃😉 The peace pagoda was gorgeous; such an awesome and serene culture and philosophies...glad you stopped, too! My apolitical thoughts about the recent attempt...just nuts! The last (major) attempt on a president I know of was '81 on Reagan. It's indeed crazy in this post 9/11 world that nobody thought to check rooftops and buildings (like you said). The fox was cool; we get them down here, their Vixens Scream is absolutely terrifying, though that doesn't seem like what you heard...if I had to guess (and I obviously do) I'd say it was a raccoon, possum, or fox, like another commenter said, a mid sized creature. (Doesn't make it any less stressful though 😮) I'm sorry the campsite wasn't quite what you expected, and that you forgot your thermocell (you were probably aware of it, but I found your personal AC hanging on your back seat), but you really do have the perfect attitude about the bumps...that moderate balance between "oh crap" and completely refusing to acknowledge it. (Geez, I talk alot; but I listen alot also, so I guess it balances out 😉) I always forget something, then get frustrated, then say "that's gonna be the bump, glad I started early", then enter sarcastic admonishment, then on with it. I'd guess you might do this, or something similar, but have you ever used Anbesol (topical anesthetic for oral pain, if you didn't know) on bug bites? It generally works great, almost instantly the itch is gone, and doesn't keep coming back. I primarily watch abandoned explore videos, but just keep doing what you're doing (which also includes urbex anyway), cause what you bring to us is amazing, informative, and amusing content and your talent and enthusiasm shines through no matter what you do. (Was that too sappy, sorry if that's too sappy). Speaking of excessive sweetness, my favorite candy is Reeses, and when I can find them, Zagnut bars. Cool McDogfood hack by the way, why have I never thought to do that?! Well, I've novellized your comments section (still tinkering with the movie rights 😉 😊) I'll finish up by saying that hospital looked really wild...love exploring places like that, but yeah, what a d@*n waste in a world that needs so much! Hope you have a beautiful rest of the weekend (and that I didn't give you eye strain), and thank you again for another epic adventure! Seeya on the next one! 😊❤👍

Hey friend, apologies for the late response. I actually never heard of that word coddiwompler but I like the definition for sure. I should not admit this but when i got home i found the thermacell in my truck.. im that kind of special and may require professional help. 😅 I knew i packed it!! But the water… nope. I didn’t know about the anbesol tip but good to know, thank you. I’ll always love exploring the abandoned but deep down being in nature is my core interest. I appreciate these comments so much and i hope you have a great week 😄🫵🏻🍃

@C4Explore 6 ай бұрын
@@ExplorewithmeMarloC No problem my friend, I knew you'd get back when you were able. I'm glad you found your thermacell; I've done that kind of thing many times...like thinking I left my tripod in an asylum, searching everywhere 30 times, then getting home and discovering it under the random detritus on my car's floor...I'm that guy who goes exploring, finds a challenging PoE, then finds the easy one after the fact. I bought some memory booster pills, thought they might work, but I just keep forgetting to take them!! 😜😏 "that" kinda special is how I end up rolling too, if I find a good specialist, I'll see if I can get you in too, maybe they offer a refer a friend discount or something...🙃🙂 I've only been urbexing about 5 years, but I've always felt the best way to find true peace and beauty is to be immersed in nature...out where people haven't messed everything up yet. Thank you so much for all you do, it's great to hear from you; I hope you have an incredible rest of the week, and get some sweet hammock time! 😁❤️👍🌲

That was an...unusual campsite. Not what you'd expect after driving three hours. Heck, you could've driven up to the White Mountains in three hours and had a real campsite in the woods. The Peace Pagoda was cool. I never knew that existed. The Packie guy was an idiot. Try Harpoon's "Rec League" if they still make it. It's kinda IPA-ish, but has low alcohol (like 3%). Another one is Founder's "All Day IPA". It has the hoppy flavor but is only like 4%.

Was a bear ! You're in bear country. .black Bear. Yes I'm sure. . There's camping rules for bear country to make sure you're doing everything you can to not attract them. Food. It's a big issue in bear country. You can attract them without even realizing it

Not sure if it was a bear but you never know. I never ever leave food or food wrappers outside. Everything goes in the truck. My cooler just had ice and a soda in it. Definitely an unsettling sound in the middle of the night 😮

That growling sounded like a fox, probably the one that trotted through your camp.

Quick question....did the owners of the property allow bathroom access..how did that work ?

Prior to arrival, they told me if they were home i could come to the house but otherwise they said to freely use the woods.. so thats what I did. I didn’t want to disturb them for a bathroom. I also have my own bathroom system in my truck for emergency.

Sad what bad luck Tony had with all his beloved dogs, sad, now we wait to see how bad Luke got hit on the Helene storm, he’s not one to complain but from his last update it didn’t look good. Lone wolf mt was fine, it was by his and his dad’s place that got hit.

I felt so bad for Tony.. im glad he has the 2 dogs now & hope they stay healthy & happy. I saw that Lone wolf mountain was pretty much untouched. I hope Luke & his family were safe.
