Have you looked at Buzz Aldrin's proposition of using two cyclic stations allowing for 5-month transit times to Mars by putting a station in such an orbit that they can shuttle crew back to and from Mars by being in an orbit pattern that intercepts with both and then you would shuttle crew to and from the station? Marcus House did a cool video on it and it might be just the blue sky thinking needed to 1 up beardy and in reality, the paper was written by Buzz Aldren so maybe Buzz Kermen could come up with the idea. As by building essentially a station and placing it in an orbit that acts as a regular ferry, that particular ship needs virtually no fuel once in orbit to make successive trips so the long-term costs become less and less and then could be the basis of a permanent Kerbal presence. While it can be done with one cyclic station it means the crew would have to stay in space a lot longer on the way home but 2 one optimized for outward and one optimized for return journeys reduces the gap between the two legs to only 18 months.

There is! Remember the Discoverer satellites? Since Beardy intercepted one we agreed to add that experiment to DynaSoar, and greatly speeding it up, allowing us to collect 40 science each flight essentially

The maneuverability of dynasoar allows much greater freedom in the orbits you can launch it into and still recover at a runway (sometimes :P)

N9, you’re not going to win the race by building Saturn V’s. You need to start doing distributed lift missions to have a shot at matching the N-1’s cadence.
