I am just starting to dabble with hazard tree removals for hydro and you're videos are a great source of information, theyll save me from some sketchy, mushroom covered climbs next to the lines. Just realized you're on the island as well, if you ever need an extra guy for a weekend job, id be more than willing to head up there and help out, could learn alot. Started doing tree work a year ago in victoria and its been nothing but good times

I'm fillin chains tonight buckin! Gettin the gullet out!!!!! I finally got some time to go through all 40 of my chains and really hog them out. I'm not that good at hand filing without a gauge so I first dig out the gullet with a file then go back with a file attached to a gauge to make sure I get all my angles correct. Thanks again. Very gnarly trees those - way beyond my pay grade, thats for sure.Excellent filming angles too - really lets you see what was done to drop those monsters. Speant the morning getting a fresh supply of wood for my beautiful Sager. Took the kids sandboarding in the afternoon (It was little Matthews 10th birthday) and just logged on to see this cool video. Perfect end to the day.

that axe that you wound twine around the neck ..........i experimented when i got my first chip in that area..........i used some zinc strip that is for roof peaks that ward off moss growth because it is so soft , yet tough ,it is about 3 inch wide and i secured it with a special wide white tape used for tarps ......i may wind twine over it like you did and then varnish or if i have some leftover 5200 marine adhesive if i have a half tube that will not be readily used ..the zinc adds weight too
