Something about this piece grabs some of the things C418 did with the Minecraft Alpha album

To be really precise, minimalistic piano music was popularised by Eric Satie, not the Daniel Rosenfeld, who takes from Satie a great inspiration.

Awesome stuff . Recently got into listening to microtonal, and especially 19tet. Interesting but still rather accessible, coming from 12tet and all.

Wow, this is nice! I want it to be longer!
@alberthesse90712 жыл бұрын
19-TET is one of the best intonations. It is dark and a little bit of horror. The feeling is similar to the phrygian scale. But more resolved
@somerandomdragon5582 жыл бұрын
I think it strikes a good balance between sounding clean and otherworldly. 53 tet for example has almost perfect fifth and fourth (if i am not confusing it with anything), but it sounds almost normal. 19 tet however sounds out of tune. But not in a bad way. Also 19 tet is still relatively simple.
@phlubblebubble2 жыл бұрын
@@somerandomdragon558 well 19 tet is just 1/3 comma meantone. it has nearly pure minor thirds...and its fifths are quite flat.

Is it just me, or would your stuff fit well into Minecraft?
@somerandomdragon5582 жыл бұрын
This would definitely fit into a slightly different version of Minecraft. Like on an alien but still earth like planet. That looks familiar yet different.
@henrikljungstrand20362 жыл бұрын
@@somerandomdragon558 Like Hyperbolic Minecraft for example. Infinite planetoids that look finite from a distance. A world made from dodecahedra with right angles, eight at a corner. Or perhaps made from hexahedra ("cubes") with 72 degree angles, twenty at a corner. Other possibilities might be feasible as well...

@@henrikljungstrand2036 I think for that the music is not quite strange enough. But 4D Minecraft maybe.

Or for 4 dimensional Minecraft.
@henrikljungstrand20362 жыл бұрын
Or Hyperbolic Minecraft, with four hexagonally tiled "Euclidean" apeirohedra/horospheres at each corner, with each hexagonal angle being the tetrahedral angle of about 109 degrees, instead of 120 degrees.

@@seasonsof-microtonalmusic5589 Yeah, what DAW do you use?
@seasonsof-microtonalmusic55894 жыл бұрын
Logic. It’s not super awesome for mt because there’s not option to change the layout of the piano roll. The only way to navigate is by looking at the notes you’ve already written. But Logic is such a pleasing program to create with that I just work around the couple annoyances as best as I can
@Thaumas4 жыл бұрын
@@seasonsof-microtonalmusic5589 how do you microtune it? Does pianoteq natively support custom tuning?
@seasonsof-microtonalmusic55894 жыл бұрын
Yea, Pianoteq has an integrated option for custom tunings. And what’s coolest, since it’s a modeling-based approach, the sounds don’t change in quality. For this song I used the demo version which does allow you to tune but disables some keys. The standard version of Pianoteq 7 (which just came out two days ago) is 20 percent off during November though, if you’re interested in picking it up. Awesome plugin, both for xenharmonic and 12tet!
