I like the fact that she was already kinda stable with her job and not depressed or somewhat downcast or hopeless.

OMG a woman bigger than a size 4 that's being treated like a normal woman without making fat jokes and obsessing about weight. She just is. She has more asperations than losing weight or gaining confidence. This is MONUMENTAL.
@hd-xc2lz3 жыл бұрын
Kinda interesting though that the casting of a "bigger than a size 4" actress is for a female opera singer role, with the stereotypical female opera singer often represented as large-bodied. Not so sure it's as monumental as you wish it to be. We'll have to wait and see if more films follow with such casting thinking.

@maryvallettakeith61462 жыл бұрын
It's not too late! The beauty of opera is that if you take care of your voice, it gets better and better as you get older. The great opera singers didn't reach their peak until their mid 40's, sometimes even 50's and there are great singers who can sing into their senior years. Go for it. It's an amazing art form and so fun to learn!

So good to have wonderful scenery and such music .Some half-baked critic referred to opera as “random” and suggested it was strange for a small village of Scottish residents to be so involved.Rubbish ! @thisistheaccountname3 жыл бұрын
@@Cybrarian1965 I mean that's fine, but from the trailer it looks like she just got out of a relationship and left her life to go find herself and achieve her dreams that she gave up on and it seems like lazy writing to go throw a romantic interest in there like "yeah, that'll fix her everything". If they have to have him in the script, he'd fit better as someone who helps through her issues by relating his own and becomes support for her in a completely platonic way. It just feel like lazy writing instead of actually making an effort of telling her story.

@@thisistheaccountname Much larger potential audience for films about finding true love than professional fulfillment. Danielle Macdonald is one of my favorite actresses that plays an American. I first saw her in a movie that played at a film festival where her character was an aspiring rapper. When I looked her up and realized she's not from the US I was like 😳I do find it odd that most of the movies I have seen her in she is trying to attain a goal that involves a contest (most of her starring roles). I am going to find out if I have missed her in other movie. I know she has been in supporting that I can't remember at the moment besides the trippy Emma Roberts movie I haven't found yet.

A man who is talented but lacks passion. He expresses it through his food so we know he is capable. A woman overweight who does not meet societies look has confidence and drive. You can't help but want to know more about her. So he is intrigued. Just what he needed. So I ask you how many of you lack passion in life and need that someone to bring out the best in you. Or are you surrounded by people holding you back. The teacher can take him but so far he needed this woman even if for a short while or not. In life we have anchors and sails that help us excel or not and it will come in a package you may not expect so always be open to looking and remove your eyes from making decision and use your brain. Is someone holding you back or helping you become a better person? We are all here to learn and grow. Good or bad we must learn.. Where is your passion and love for life?

2 Peter 3:4-6 They will say, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation." For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.

Right? She sounds tone deaf at the beginning and within a matter of days is singing serious operatic pieces with legato, portamenti, beautiful phrasing and breath control (all of which take years to learn) and also in tune (which is practically unteachable if you don't already have a good ear). This movie blows. It should be categorized as a fantasy.
