Please do not comment with any spoilers or hints towards them, no matter how vague you think you're being. I made this video with people who haven't tried Void Stranger in mind, which honestly was a bit of a challenge. Thank you!

You did an expert job dodging potential spoilers in this review. It's a REALLY hard game to talk about without gushing over all of the EXTREMELY clever tricks it pulls, knowing that you want everyone else to experience that for themselves.

Just fell in love with Void Stranger and it lead me to your video. Love your top 100 by the way, a lot of bangers on there that I would have in one (if I could stomach putting them in order). I think Void Stranger would occupy a similar space to Celeste for me, where they compel me to push hard on a difficulty curve way out of my usual comfort zone because they are just that good. I’m not a puzzle game person or a platformer person, but I absolutely love those two games.

On and off I’ve played this game for three months and it’s the greatest game I’ve played there’s so much that even after you think you found everything there’s so much you don’t know and could easily over look more and the scary part was it’s kinda like a fear of the unknown and life itself, what we don’t know and beyond.

I have no idea how this game still hasn't blown up, may be already in my top 5. Can't wait for IGN to give it a 4 for being too frustrating :(

You inspired me to make a top 100 of my own, and Void Stranger is 5th on that list. That puts it just below nostalgic juggernauts that have been cemented into my love of video games like Super Metroid, Final Fantasy 6, Doom 1993, and the original Legend of Zelda. All of these titles share something special, which is not just secrets, but MEANINGFUL secrets. It's one thing to find a turkey in a brick wall when you're playing Castlevania, it's a whole other thing to discover hidden character dialogues, richer story, or game changing routes and endings based on player interaction and behavior. Void Stranger is such a diamond in the rough; it's absolutely a new favorite of mine. It celebrates the medium of video games and tells a story in a way that no other artform can. I love this game.

Void Stranger is definitely a masterpiece. It was one of those games where I found myself telling my friends about the things I found and the clever tricks I came up with to solve puzzles. Also, I can’t stress this enough, but THANK YOU for not spoiling anything. This game is a once in a lifetime experience and I wouldn’t wanna ruin it for anyone.

Seeing this a while back & hearing folks talk about Void Stranger got me to check it out, and it quickly became the most fascinating game I've played in a long time. Thanks!

i'm glad i got this video in my recommendations! ever since i finished void stranger a few weeks ago i've been boiling over with desire to talk about and recommend this game with no one to listen (oh, and this game's trailer was one of the best sells a trailer's ever made for me.)

It's System f***ing Erasure we're talking about here. After Zeroranger, I'm confident that SysErasure will make another absolute banger of a game, and they did!! I don't know why people are still overlooking these devs and not try out Zeroranger or Void Stranger, but they're missing out of all of this. Banger music, immersive story, gameplay that can itch you to play more? What else can you ask? Void Stranger is another excellent game made by these guys and it's worth it try it out and not get demovitated for every death or game over. System Erasure became my favorite devs ever since Zeroranger and they didn't let me down with Void Stranger. They just kept cooking delicious food!! Not sure if they'll make a 3rd game but if whenever System Erasure makes another one, hope it's gonna be hype and poggers.

Just rage-quit the game and was about to just watch a full-spoiler vid, but instead I found this. It's good to know that despite initial frustration there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and that it's okay to ask others for help (though I am terrified every time I open Google for hints 'cause I gots no friends to discuss this with 😭) I'll probably step away for a bit and finish up CrossCode (there's my recommendation trade cause that game is insanely good) then come back to this with fresh eyes and with any luck a helping hand to guide me thru the more frustrating parts. Thanks for giving me some reassurance to stick with the game 💙 P.S. That's a very nice model design you have.

Just finished it tonight and even though i had run out of lives and struggled halfway through, the game really had a way of making me keep going no matter what. And the fact that at some point i found out it has more things hidden makes me think this game could be something more special than i thought for me aswell.

I was always had problems with puzzle games so I started to play blindly from a certain level using guides which looked like RLZ-RRRR-UULZ-LRZLZ-LRZLZ-LRZ-UDLZ-LU. Because I wanted to expirience this game and it's secrets and in all youtube videos I can't find any spoiler review or lore recaps. Even in videos which contain secrets and endings of this game some information kept as spoilers

The locust idols are lives? I've died hundreds of times but I've never seen them used like that.
@kel4348 Жыл бұрын
If you die and eat the fruit that the little bat guy gives you you dont use them as lives because you have infinite lives, its only if you don't die before getting them or if you still haven't "voided" that they are used as lives.
@Caballaria-sc2sj3 ай бұрын
You must NOT eat the fruit the little bat guy gives you! Only then you can experience the full story. The fruit gives you infinite lives, but if you eat it you cannot complete the game. If you've eaten the fruit then, even If you think you've played the full game, in fact what you've played is only a small part of the game. You must refuse the fruit, then you will have to use the locusts as lives, which makes the game much harder, but lets you experience the full story which is much MUCH bigger than you think.

seeing so many mega man games in your top 100, but no mega man zero??? please play the zero series, if you only play one of them than play zero 3, they're all fantastic games and i could easily see multiple of them breaking into ur top 100
@Voxandra11 ай бұрын
Ahh....ah. I've only played Zero 1 & 3, I very much am not a fan of Zero 1, and I liked Zero 3 but not enough to really be a fan. If those games weren't made on the GBA or had smaller sprites I might like the series more, but it honestly hurts it too much for me to find it enjoyable compared to other action platformers.

Why does Snake Lady exist? Do you hate some parts of Void Stranger too? Why isn’t there an undo button? 60 uses per floor would benefit the game tremendously . I’m just waiting for quality of life updates so it’s more enjoyable to play again.

i understand that this game is meant to be punishing, but i feel like system erasure went a bit too far in some places such as the introduction of mimics coming straight after a forced smiling idol warp
