as a screamer in a band, some people say "screaming doesnt take talent" I advise some of those peaople to scream for 15 min straight and still try to sing or even talk. Ronnie is an insane musician. He is his own genre.

This dude is insanely talented, with or without screaming. I mean, I know how hard it is to "scream-sing", but either way his voice is crazy good
@nobodyimportant13372 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: this isn’t even his most vocally difficult song, he’s just having fun here😂😂😂 It’s stupid how actually EASY this is for him. The lyrics are very much storytelling because this is about his heroin addiction and the physical effects of it. He’s using vampires and zombies as a metaphor for how the drugs made hime physically feel. This version is just having a lot of fun visually with the vampire angle😂

@sakaraist Жыл бұрын
The craziest part about his singing. Is that live, the performances are almost a one for one match to the pre-recorded versions. I've seen them a few times and every now and then Ronnie mixes it up but his range and pace are only even more impressive in person somehow. Very few live recordings seem to do his range justice though
@blackknight10132 жыл бұрын
You need to connect to the lyrics to really appreciate the final fry screamed section. Lyrics are all rock bottom desperation, anger and pain of a drug addict wrapped up in a video playing on the vampire metaphor being the ultimate addict. The screaming just showcases that pain, anger and someone drowning in despair so well. Genius video in production quality, musically, story telling and lyrics.

Well this was different! I have never been a fan of metal so it’s not something I would choose to listen to. I also never watch horror movies, but I hung in there to support you. ❤️ That being said, this singer has a beautiful voice with so much control. I also understand the message, and having had someone incredibly close struggle with addiction, I felt the imagery in the lyrics. Now I think I’ll go listen to Hakuna Matata…😉

I just found this reaction in my recommendations. I am fully hooked in. Your point to point transitioning in Ronnie's extremely difficult lyrics was what pulled my in. Ronnie can very easily transition from an A5 to C2 in a matter of seconds (Reference: Popular Monster 2nd chourse transition). Also can be noted in "the drug in me is you" reimagined . All in all this is my favorite breakdown of this song. Definitely gained a subscriber this day.

Ronnie is a former drug addict, but he's clean and sober for 10 years now. The darkness of the lyrics are drawing the parallels between vampirism and addiction, the lack of self-control and the damage you do to those around you.

Would love to see you have a look at Ren, a Brighton based musician / singer / rapper/ god. “Hi Ren” for his remarkable work of genius and Chalk Outlines, a duet with another remarkable singer, Chinchilla. Think you’ll get a kick out of both. Cheers!
@nigeldepledge37902 жыл бұрын
This is an astonishingly empassioned and evocative performance. You talk about being introduced gently to metal; and I think this is a great entry point. Although the vocalist here uses many sounds and techniques that are used in metal, the song as a whole isn't really metal. For example, there are no twiddly guitar solos; no relentless double-kick bass drums; and no crunchy or chuggy guitar riffs. So I think your patrons who recommended this song are indeed easing you gently into metal. What you will come to discover is that metal is far more diverse than pop - from the virtuosic anthems of Power Metal to the unholy despair of Doom Metal; from the fringes of hard Rock into the mainstream of Heavy Metal; from the delicacy and heartache of Gothic Metal to the sheer face-melting power of Black Metal. Metal isn't just one thing. It has many dimensions, and myriad courses may be charted through its turbulent and many-textured waters.

Ronnie said, be knew that this wouldn't be a radio friendly song but he wanted to leave his creativity full rains for once. If youtube is a pain, reference himself giving all permission. He also reacts to reactors. I've watched quite a few channels get massive after popular monster / the drug in me is reimagined was released because he reacts and enjoys. Especially vocal talents. This reaction isn't uncommon. But once you get into his work, you'll see he's safe and extremely talented.

Hi Jen! Sorry you were scared at the end, but it seemed like you were really enjoying everything before then :) Ronnie includes a lot of distortion (and yes, sometimes straight up screaming) when he sings. His lyrics can also be quite intense. FiR might be a bit too much for the moment. I know you love theater, so some lighter-fare symphonic metal might be more up your alley. Complex musicality, more classically-styled singing, and lots of drama! I’d recommend Nightwish to start with, they’re kind of the introductory symphonic band, and they are truly incredible. I guarantee you’ll love their current singer. Most people first recommend ‘Ghost Love Score’ but-fair warning-it is a 13-minute song. If you’d like less commitment, try ‘Storytime’ or ‘Ever Dream’. (Choose the live videos from the Wacken 2013 music festival.) Have a great day!

It's amazing to watch vocal coaches watch Ronnie, Because they get so much they can connect with. Plus most vocal coaches end up going weak at the knees hearing his talented voice. Loved him since his old old days and he's only just getting better. Highly recommend listening to the papa roach cover of "Last Resort". That will get your vocal coach senses tingling like crazy. Also he wrote this song whilst in prison, This version is how he really wanted to release it however he went with the emo rock vibe because that's what he was known for at the time and how he had his popularity.

Some people don't like the hard core screaming in songs, and that's understandable. However i think due to the nature of the song and the video, thematically, and how theatrical it is, i think it's important to the story. In the video the "vampire" is in anguish. I think the screams perfectly highlight the rage of a creature of the dead, and possibly more importantly, the way those quick distortions work when he raises his voice (like when he's being burned at the stake) convey actual physical pain so well, it makes for brilliant story telling simply through the vocal part of the song, it's almost like you don't even need the video because his voice tells a story all on its own. That's just my take on it anyways.

I am very familiar to this song and knowing Ronnie has an incredible voice, I was curious of your reaction as you are a vocal coach. I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction as I knew you were not ready for this haha. You must check out the original for comparison sake and seeing Ronnie as he was in his EMO days will shock you. As already mentioned in your comments, The drug.......reimagined is a beautiful song. Are you ready for this? What I know you are ready for is an amazing band of 3 sisters called The Warning from Mexico. They are a rock band which has opened for The Foo Fighters, Def Lepard, Killers and Guns and Roses next month. The sisters are Dany (22)on guitar and lead vocals, Pau(20), drums and vocals and the youngest sister Ale at 17 on bass and backing vocals. I was so impressed with them that I flew to Texas from Liverpool to attend 3 concerts. I was not disappointed. A brilliant live band and Dany has a great rock quality to her vocals. I would love your opinion. Please try out the song Choke for a reaction and other songs such as Evolve , Dust to Dust, ERROR, Animosity and Dull Knives for starters as they have a catalogue of 40+ original songs. Rock is dying but these girls are putting it back on the map. Thanks for your breakdown. Very enjoyable. 🤟

His enunciation is usually exceedingly poignant and he has quite a large range. Many different vocal effects in his toolbox, and the band is tight, music is always a banger. Hats off for giving them a try. Love that you're branching out still and viewing all sorts of genres, awesome work miss!. I'm sure everyone will tell you to look at Zombified, a supercharged political statement for sure, but holy hell it's a banger.
