When everything is going to shit and you truly have no one to emotionally depend on, you just gotta survive one more day. Life is a perpetual cycle of highs and lows, but some periods of life consist of extended lows. It's difficult when you feel like your a hostage to your mind's compulsion to self destruct. It can feel like a hamster wheel. I have no other advice but to just make it another minute, hour, day. Even when it seems like the world is heartless and impersonal (because it is), you gotta fight to survive, including surviving from yourself. Changes are inevitable, just stay alive one more day and one day at a time. Give your shitty life two middle fingers by being a survivor of your hardships. Along with an analytical introspective (don't focus on people and shit that's out of your hands, it will defeat you), you will become more resilient each day you choose to survive. If nothing else, find ONE decent thing you've experienced/witnessed in the past hour or day, give yourself a goal to see the bright side in at least one thing that day. Even if it's bereavement for a lost loved one, you're feeling that way because they once gave you a sense of joy or devotion. That's a beautiful thing, you're capable of caring about and for another person. It means you experienced genuine love. I'm very very sympathetic about the losses of your babies. That was a huge paranoia I had throughout each of my pregnancies and when my three kids were young infants. I remember when my second child was in NICU for a month, walking past dejected looking parents. I wondered about their situation, because most parents, even in the NICU, don't look downright devastated because they have hope for a positive outcome. I just didn't know how you move on after something like that because it seemed like if that happened to me, I feared that somehow time would "stop" and I'd be trapped in that full horror moment forever. That's very heavy to deal with by the age 25. But I think your upbringing braced you for the struggles that adulthood would bring. If you didn't learn that life, at it's core, was unfair and cruel, then you wouldn't have appreciated the control you now have over your own perspective as much. If you posses genuine empathy for others even after such a volatile childhood, then that truly is a victory as a lot of folks who experience a lack of control as children along with an abusive parental narcissist (key ingredient) become narcissists themselves during the formation of their personality which they are stuck with permanently. This dysfunctional recipe also has a great likelihood of creating empaths with an emotional addiction to narcissists. But they are imbued with the traits of honesty and decency even when it's used to exploit and manipulate them. You just gotta sever ties with those who make you feel like crap on a regular recurring basis. Once you know (they're a toxic person, even if they can put on a venir of kindness and generosity), you go. I'm more content being alone than with abusive people (that includes psychological and emotional most definitely).
