To me, the song is about a relationship based on codependency. The original was a immature view of codependency... cocky and full of hubris. This second version is one of suffering and misery... from a more adult point of view where the addiction toward a negative person is recognized, but made more powerful because of bitterness and resentment.

Actually the song is About Ronnie struggling with drugs years ago. In the original music video the drug was reflected to the girl and same is in this video. At the end of this video the girl (drug) is the same girl from the cover of that album and she takes fire because Ronnie is clean now

@@shiki494 Drug addiction is a codependent relationship too. The young person knowing drugs are harmful, yet thinking they "got this" and the older person knowing they are a slave and screaming to get out, but unable to. The template still works.

I personally see this song as a discussion with himself staring at the glass. "Trying to consume. The drug in me is you. And I'm so high on misery, can't you see?" I interpret the "You" in those lyrics as his ego, his destructive nature. I see this whole thing as an individual asking himself "I've already reached rock bottom. How much deeper are you trying to dwelve me before I'm buried alive in my own misery?" This perspective I believe is rather interesting because I see the speaker (in this case, Ronnie) as someone completely aware that he is defined not his thoughts and has no control over his mind. However, the perspective also makes this whole musical experience very bitter and heartfelt, since you can tell by his voice and the lyrics ("I'm so high on misery") that he has grown very attached to those destructive thoughts and he can't let go of them.

Ok I know im a little late on giving you a reply on your video here but I just found this. I didn't know that there was an original version to this one until AFTER I saw this version. In my opinion the original version doesn't give the lyrics justice. I dont say that it isn't good musicaly. This remake though... poooh. I had reeeeeally hard to push back the tears, still do depending on my mood. It really speaks to me and affects me in a way that few songs do. You can really hear the different stages pain that Ronnie goes through and how it all burst into aggony at the end. I relate to that. Hat of for Falling in reverse. And hat of for you as well Angelika! Fantastic work on this reaction/review. Yes, Ronnie plays on piano. I seen him on Twitch saying he's self-taught, which is amazing. He also said those piano notes in the solo are the same ones as the guitar in the original.

It's very short, and understated, but has that double meaning, ie you are encased within a coffin. Devastating lyrics from this dude, even though in the original I think he's just being cheeky, but in this context it has so much weight.
