Instant nostalgia for sure! For me it's also the Konami 'jingle' at the beginning of games too. (More specifically TMNT: Turtles In Time)

Great video! One of my favorite memories is saving up enough money when I was 14 to buy the Dreamcast the day it came out... 9/9/1999. I've never been more excited to buy anything in my life.

I was listening to a KZbinr the other day who mentioned we're no longer in the era of "sitting on the couch playing games with friends". Videos like these remind me, "hey, why aren't we still doing that!" Life should STILL be centered around going over to your friends' house and playing video games on the couch on the weekends (or at least drawing while they play an obscure RPG for 6 hours straight)!

That's so funny, I too got a bonus "special moves & fatalities sheet" by someone with my used copy of Mortal Kombat for the Genesis and still have it today! It's interesting and so old school because a lot of the special moves written down weren't 100% correct because people were actually figuring them out themselves rather than getting them officially released in strategy guides.

Plugging in controllers to a console. Switching to channel 3 on my huge tube tv. Reading paper instruction manuals. Trying to rent new games at Blockbuster and being bitterly disappointed when they were all gone. Makes me wish I’d kept all my old consoles and games.

What a great video game shop video. I love watching your game related presentations. I feel I'm being educated about the must have equipment that a young person has. I like your descriptions of the consoles. "Not in perfect condition, but not doing badly, considering it's age. Just in need of being given the once over with the dust buster." Why, that phrase has been used to describe me. Anyway, a very soothing and instructive video.

The game store videos you do are my absolute favourite! I still have my Sega Saturn but it currently won't load any games. A while ago I took it apart and adjusted the potentiometer screw, which enabled the laser to read and load all games, except for shinobi. And I love shinobi 👌 it stopped working again and adjusting the screw didn't work, so I might try getting a new laser. Sorry I've rambled on, awesome video from you as usual 👍💯💚

Are you familiar with dungeons and dragons and/or would you ever consider it for a video? As a "paper and pencil" game with books and dice to roll on felt pads, there's lots of interesting ASMR-tunities for sounds to get for a video idea such as you creating a character to play.

Hi 🙂 🎮 All this talk about spaceship looking consoles and Genesis (the beginning) makes me think not about the 1990's but next Monday and the future. When Artemis 1 leaves the launchpad, it will mark the start of a new era 🎇🌗. I missed out on the console era so your videos let me into a world that is clearly your thing. Do you have other staff in your game store? You are always working there. Ask for a week off. 😂 Your videos are so good. I hope your week is going well.
