I have the DC4 and the CC4 from Falkniven, both are very useful, but my most used tool for sharpening is a ceramic rod I bought for £2 from Heinnie Haynes. It’s quite fine, so more for touching up an edge than resharpening but it works well and for the price is excellent.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out.....I like the Victorinox sharpener but that was £13!

@@MB_EDC The Vic sharpener is a better allrounder as it’s slightly coarser, the cheap rods do a good job of refining an edge. Worth using and for the price they’re hard to beat.

Yeah, I use a ceramic stone and strop to maintain my knives mostly. I'll only resharpen if they've had some intense use or completely lost their edge. It's a balancing act between keeping the knife sharp and safe and not removing too much material, too quick.

@@SussexEDC Having just discovered stropping - I think it is amazing, less aggressive and my knives have never been sharper!

@@matthewjones6010 Now I’ve got my knives sharp. Stropping is keeping them sharp if they’ve only had light use.

Interesting video. This would be ideal for some field sharpening. I like how you get the rough leather side for stropping too. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I stick to my diamond credit card double sided stone im not fan of ceramic sharpners your one seems still too thick for me I like to have light as possible tools 👍🐾🦊

Fair enough! I am sure that you know a lot more about sharpeners than me. I find the diamond sharpener on the DC3 a little harsh. Maybe I need to try a finer grit diamond sharpener?

@@MB_EDC 👍🐾🦊 yep I only touched strops but if edge is very blunt or damaged then I put on course stone then medium then strop . Experience is what I go by not hear say or proof is in pudding
