Congratulations! You are almost the only youtuber that knows to bring the stone to the knife! This is why it is made small to dress and polish to the tool. And circles always hold a consistent angle with never a threat of cutting yourself. Big stones are for bringing the tool to.....Well Done!!!

Had mine for a year now and tonight was the first time I used your method, fantastic and a lot safer more stable. I had my DC4 in a custom build wooden support block to prevent the knife slipping but now with your method it is a lot safer.

That's such a good Idea, with the block I should give that a shot

Michael Farrell many thanks im thinking of making and in-depth video on how to sharpen with it

wow i haven't run into a single other video about the dc4 where they explain this/do this. it makes so much sense though. can't wait to give this method a try. one of my blades is very thin and I've had a hell of a time getting the right angle and keeping it on the dc4... this really looks like a sensible solution.

Im glad you enjoyed the video, this is in my opinion the best way to keep a good angle when sharpening

Hi. It's been a while since you posted this video. I wanted to ask if the ceramic side gets worn out or caved in with use?
@StackhouseKnives3 жыл бұрын
Not the don't wear so you don't have to redress them, that's one of the reasons they're great - less maintenance.

had mine 5 years, still going strong - only issue I've seen is the 2 surfaces splitting apart, gorilla glue solved that one

On the instructions I have for this stone they recommend to go across the stone like you trying to slice a piece of the stone off not your way so now I’m confused as you say that they said your way but my instructions say totally different.
@StackhouseKnives3 жыл бұрын
Interesting ive only received one set of instructions describing the circular motion to keep a constant angle,
@Jib2301813 жыл бұрын
@@StackhouseKnives very weird. Maybe they had two instructions like an old one and new one maybe. Very strange.

Great video, thank you. If only the paperwork that came with the DC4 told you anywhere near this information it would have been helpful

I'm not sure if they come with the same set of instructions, I bought more but haven't received them

I’ve not seen your entire video yet but need to ask how long have yours lasted? Heard from others on YT that they don’t last very long.
