According to your review of the Garberg in 2017 (link below), the Garberg scored 9.5/10 on firemaking which included feather sticking, batoning, and striking a fire steel. No knife compares to any Mora in bushcraft tasks, Moras are the best. Fallknivens are not specialiazed wood carvers like Moras, they are general use knives. Also a medium size knife, like Moras, will always win any Large knife, in terms of detailed cutting comfortable use etc etc. Add on these, the better and more appropriate handle ergos on the Moras... Mora Bushcraft Black, is better than the Garberg and thus works better as a Bushcraft/fire knife, than most knives out there.

Those two knives compare well. I have not used the Fallkniven, but highly recommend the Bark River. With the Bark River you get your choice of handle material and lifetime warranty with sharpening. You also get subjectively better materials with CPM3V steel and a leather sheath.

I hate it that Fällkniven increased blade thickness AGAIN on this X blades, and that they did not make a X Series of the full convex F1, instead of the less usefull F1 Pro blade design.

They overbuild it with the X line. There's some advantages to the thicker blades and then there's a lot of disadvantages. Luckily, there's always a very thin Mora for $8.

That was a lot of cream...and slightly gay. Fallkneven handles are too slim. They are fine for smaller hands but too slim for my hands. The F-1, and A-1 are made to compete with Cold Steels Master Hunter and their 1960s SRK which is the knife Navy Seals carry. The Cold Steel handles are significantly thicker, and easier to hold, though the handle material is not as durable as the F-1 and A-1s handle material.

I am very curious to see how much of a beast this A1X is. I plan to use it for outdoors especially batoning and chopping while camping when I don't want to bring a hatchet along with a full sized axe. I found the best deal for $275.
