lol. He's doing them a favor, and they're all just doing it because there are no royalties from streaming, otherwise you would not see David and Tina Weymouth together. What f**k does he care? He's been doing creative projects that gets him press ever since the Heads broke up. What has Tina, Chris and Jerry done? Tina pissed the pool in that band, not David Byrne, and it's because of her they never reunited. If she had been cool - which she never was, she was always impressed with herself from that initial early period, when SHE was the one that got all the attention, not Byrne - the band would have kept going, at least on and off, during the 90s and maybe would even be around today.

@@TTM9691 I've had the feeling throughout the years that the other members of the band could have in their later years (after the breakup) been more understanding of David's, what appears to be, natural talent as a musician AND as an entertainer (the latter something they really don't have) and more open to the possibility of reuniting. Which could of course have been beneficial to all EVEN if the money wasn't "equal" but dudeeeee...that's some more vitriol you're throwing out...sure there's gonna be some envy, no doubt, but you damn sure aren't helping the situation. WTF

@@EastmanD First off, it's not "the other members of the band", it's Tina, that's it. It's not Jerry Harrison and it's not Chris Frantz (who got caught in the middle). Secondly, I'm not helping the situation? What alternative reality are you living in, dummy? Yeah, my little comment is really exacerbating the situation, it's all about me,......holy f**k are you sycophantic hor what? Go read about the band, bro! Go read about the crap she pulled for YEARS. She put a big giant wedge between the band and Byrne, she'd be mailing him these long, vitriolic, name-calling letters, and his quote was literally something like "Why would I play in a band with a person who writes me letter after letter calling me a scumbag and the worst person in the world?" She's such a wannabe. I love her! Great bass player! Total asshole. One of the villains of rock. Get the picture? (Now we see!) (hope that reference didn't go sailing over your head)

The reason the "Punk" scene was so interesting in the beginning is because the bands did NOT all sound the same. when they say they were not a punk band i mean they were a band BEFORE there was a "Punk Scene" which is far more punk in my opinion. once a scene starts wagon jumpers and gatekeepers come along and by default rules are set, what the sound is what the look is what the attitude is etc... which in this case sort of defeats the whole purpose of whatever that movement was. pretty much all similar scenes go through the same thing, a SMALL amount of genuinely interesting and creative people come together and a scene begins. before long the scene starts getting some sort of exposure and more people start coming along, and then the people that are not actually very interesting or creative start coming along and taking the scene over. then the interesting creative people that started it begin to move on to the next thing because they are creative and get bored of doing the same old thing. now the people that jump on the band wagon starts calling the people that created the scene posers because they are into something else now. the hypocrisy and ignorance of it all.

FOM was the "transition" album. Still some of the quirky pop/new wave of the first 2 albums but with the addition of the African polyrhythms and funk elements that would bloom in full on Remain In Light. "Life During Wartime" got some radio play but "I Zimbra" was the revelation for me.

@@benjaminpetersen1952 Wrong. Tina Weymouth is the one who pissed the pool in this band. You're still clinging to that Rolling Stone article back in '87, huh? Tina was the first to get the spotlight, nobody was complaining she "stole" the spotlight from the others. She was a bitter brat for years, and is the most two-faced person on that stage, smiling and grinning. He's doing them a favor by sitting up there with them. What has Tina and Co. done since the Heads broke up? Nothing. Other than album called "The Heads", which tanked. No one's interested in her "work". (PS: Tom Tom Club was before the Heads broke up, just to nip that one in the bud) Byrne writes books, does stuff with Robert Wilson, on Broadway, he did that wild building/music installation which I can't even describe, he's always doing something creative......give me a break. I owned a bar for 30 years. I started to hate walking in the door because there were always people waiting to ask me for money, for tabs and anything else . For the last 10 or so years, I began singing, no screaming 'Psycho Killer' on my drive to work. It was perfect. When I opened that door, I was ready.❤

At least the outstanding backing vocalists Lynn and Ednah were mentioned, but not the legendary Bernie Worrell. The great cover version by T H's, "Take Me To the River" is an Al Green song, no one disclosed that.

I saw Sonic Youth at 3rd and Fairfax in Farmer's Market Los Angeles, California, AGES AGO. Made a sound I wouldn't want to hear twice in my life. (Film reference: Close Encounters of the Third Kind.) Kim was HOT still.

Jonathan Demme initially planned to make not this film but instead a concert film of what he regarded as the greatest American rock n roll band working, The Feelies. (See the one music video he made of them playing live.) But he couldn't get financing for a Feelies movie, they were too obscure. The Talking Heads became his fall-back. A second choice that turned out not too shabby. The Feelies can still be seen live now and then. I was able to seem them April of this year at the Black Cat in DC. Sold out show, 3+ hours, 38 songs, 5 encores... a great time.

Ah, a masochist. Don't you know that the worst thing you can do on social media is to give strangers messages of love in exchange for upvotes? It's a cheap tactic. You should be ashamed.

I like the band but I don't think Jimmy is doing the best interview here. Lots of generic comments like he's not watched anything and barely knows anything about them besides a subsurface level 10 minute prep.
