I love him in Pride and Prejudice. I've watched that movie 20x now and that scene with Elizabeth when he proposes and she rejects him, that was a masterpiece. I never thought of him as "comedic" - Tom and Greg are hilarious and the best side kicks on the show. So glad he's getting the recognition he deserves.

I love Matthew. He IS one of our finest British actors who’s been too long waiting for more recognition. He’s gorgeous and THAT VOICE is magical! I like him in all I’ve seen him in and a huge favourite is Ripper Street (I recommend). For any American who may watch this, Adam Rothenberg plays Capt Homer Jackson, a pathologist as I recall! A fine American actor. It’s an amazing serial drama of Victorian England made 8/10 years ago. Matthew is a police officer. I’m an English woman and live in the UK! I’m almost 76 and Matthew’s voice makes my thighs go taught and sensitive! 😥👌😘🤗✌️👍⚡️⚡️⚡️BTW Keeley Hawes is a beautiful British fine actress too!

Ripper Street is where i first saw him and I was like, MAN what an actor. Same thing when I saw David Tennant and Olivia Colman in Broadchurch. Blown away by the talent of those two as well. I personally believe Olivia Colman is the best actress going currently. Brilliant in EVERYTHING she does.

I saw this man for the first time on Pride and Prejudice and fell in love. My friends forced me to watch Succession when I was not interested, and the minute I saw Matthew Macfayden I binge-watched the whole two seasons in a week. At first I couldn't digest dearest Mr. Darcy coming off the screen as this oddly naive and mildly psychotic Tom... but now I just love Matthew Macfayden's acting. @@sorscha1308 I'll have to disagree. That was a decent spy series, but Succession is a dramatic series of almost Sopranos-level caliber. And IMHO, he personally was better in Succession than anything else I've seen him in - and that's after Ripper Street already set the bar very high. Naturally, I can't make any comparison to his other works that I haven't seen yet. :)
