That 4th encounter is why I dislike killing the dogs in FO4. They only time is when like a pack attacks me because then they're like wolf instincts but when its just one or two, I usually skirt by them, especially if Im at a particular distance where they're just giving me like a warning snarl I'm like "OK lil pupper I'll leave you be" lol

no. I had the event chain happen and I found Lexa's body right next to Stash's. Simon killed them both. Maybe whether you find her body depends on what dialogue choice you pick. I told Stash to listen to Lexa. Maybe if you tell her to listen to Simon, Simon won't kill Lexa.

Some good mods I found for you to try. Sanctuary Estates Clean version, pre-walled settlements, nukamon (you can capture anyone or any monster in pokeballs), Institute portal gun (like Portal), alternate power sources, Go Green, go ghoul , Flavorocalypse, and one where you can make and find weapons from Skyrim called The Elder swords, and workshop turret pack.

When you first talk with Preston, he mentions that his band was 20 when they started out a month ago and 8 just a few days ago. Later, in the Superduper Mart, you find three Minutemen bodies, obviously killed by the numerous Ghouls inside. I've never had Preston as a Companion during this quest into the Superdupermart. Does anyone know if he has any unique dialog upon finding his three dead compatriots?

The random encounter that bugs me is the escaped synth who asks if you know the way to Bunker Hill. Your only response is "no". Yet you were alive before the war, you've lived in the Boston area. It's a famous war memorial, and the Fallout universe is very patriotic. The player *should* know where Bunker Hill is located.

When it comes to random encounters, I like the single wounded dog you can happen across in various locations. It's been a while since I encountered it but it you pet or feed or cure it (I don't remember what the action is) it will become friendly to you and fight any enemies in the local area with you. Later you can come across it again in another random location and it will still be friendly to you and still hep you fight. The sad thing is that I believe it only has one global instance so if you don't recognize it and kill it immediately (or if it dies in a fight), no more random wilderness friend.

Carla is broken for me, one time Sanctuary was attacked by Gunners. Carla the merchant happened to be there because her Brahmin was stuck on the roof. So when the gunners were attacking, she got into a suit of MY power armor T-40 and was assisting in the fight. But now she is no longer traveling because of the power armor situation. There is some sort of programming interfering with her nomadic programming.

Nate, there is another Stash encounter that happens before her murder, she asks your opinion weather to keep supplying Simon with chems or cut him off. Doesnt matter what you choose, Stash gets murdered and Simon becomes a raider.

Dunno about piping but I have seen a Mr. Handy with 3-4 Mongrels in tow. Of course they quickly broke away from the bot and attacked me. I feel like the random encounter spots in Fallout 76 aren't documented that well. Much like Fallout 4 there are several different types of encounter spots. E.g. road encounters, static encounters, and battleground encounters. The road encounters can have the pied piper encounter you mention, or a Ms. Nanny looking for someone with a Recon Scope for a side quest, among other things. The static spots can have entire 'sets' in place, like a bunch of military bots guarding a tank. Last the battle encounters can be rough if you stumble into them, such as Super Mutants attacked by a Scorchbeast, or Stingwings and Blood Bugs swarming, or just an aggressive variant of the Mothman.

What about Good ART and bad ART. I met (randomly ) these two characters several times while they were having a firefight with pistols, only stopping when one of them died. I suspect that they were synths in an Institute experiment.
