+Greg Lindsay (grog3471) As far as I know, there is no limit. HOWEVER, they do count against your recruitment limit, and they don't count towards settlement happiness. So if you have high enough charisma to get 20 settlers, but only have 16 and build 4 robots, that's 20 and you won't get any more regular settlers. This means you can't get 100% happiness (and the Benevolent Leader achievement) with that settlement.

This was pretty much one of the first things I did once completing the story board aspects. Similar, I had dual Gatling and dual shoulder but nothing unstable. Just straight up goods. On Survival, I matched him one on one with a Legendary Annihilator sentry bot MK II that resets down by Murkwater and it was over in seconds. Peanut simply destroyed him. I gave Ada a test against the two Assaultrons outside Vault 95 but she seemed determine to melee them even though she had all ranged firepower and while they didn't beat her, I got tired of them all slapping each other silly and killed the Assaultron's myself.

Bethesda fucked the AI up! They imported it from Skyrim so in an FPS game that is full on about guns NPCs preffer mellee and even if they use guns they think they using mellee so they wait for their turn in attacks! If you are on PC download a mod that fixes the AI.

Fun fact you can set them to do supply runs between settlements. If you manage to set them between every settlement they will patrol the map, presumedly killing thousands along the way. Is there a practical reason to do this? No. But it would be a massive flex on the poor that you have murder machines transporting junk between settlements. You also run into them occasionally on the road which is cool. They also don’t take up a settler spot (each settlement has a limit on people that will show up from recruitment beacons) so you can have as many as the game can handle.

I find using a Mr. Handy torso works better. You lose the small boost to energy damage, but the mister handy eye has much much better accuracy. Your bot essentially loses energy damage but hits it's target more often. Plus the voltaic Mr.Handy frame looks kick ass.

What id like to see is a set of robots that are maxed for ultimate damage dealing and max armor, cause let's face it, if you can send a robot to eliminate threats, and it makes you look good after, you're gonna go with it. As for the fatman launcher, can the mirv variant be put in place? Imagine an assaultron with a mirv launcher hitting you while it's cloaked.

I made a massive Sentry bot with an Assaultron head, dark green paint, a Flamer and a Gatling Laser, and a male voice. His name is Carlisle. I also made a pack mule Protectron with a Cryolator, a automatic laser hand, a sentry bot head, and a processed male voice. His name was Jamison. Honestly, I just found it fun to just build random robots and stick them in settlements. They're basically just buildable settlers. I had a generic Ms. Handy I called Victoria, which I gave a tesla gun and black paint, and I sent her to Red Rocket Truck Stop to just guard. I wound up sending her out on a Supply Caravan. If only you could mod Gen 1 and 2 Synths.

The carnage helm is generally better as with 2 gatling lasers he has a really high chance to basically instakill anything (mine 1 shot a legendary alpha deathclaw)

If you want it to be totally evil, simply set all the armor to voltaic plating. Each piece increases energy weapons damage. I set Ada up with a gatling laser in one hand and a sniper laser in the other. She was killing things before I could even get them, and I'm level 92. Sentinel legs provide the best results; your bot will basically teleport from side to side in combat, throwing off the enemy aim and allowing it to easily escape things that get close. Also, note on your video: anyone who lets a suicider get that close is stupid. Always VATS the right arm or the head from long range.

Here's an Automatron for ya': Thruster, three buzz saws, sentry bot arms with laser gatling, Mr Handy original eye (Looks good and high engagement distant), and I believe I used the robobrain chest but I'm not sure... (Definitely not sentry bot though to avoid overheating). His armor is all to increase his energy damage while still providing high resistances, and he often runs off to kill enemies while I'm sitting idle that I didn't even know about... Seriously, you have to compete with this guy. He ends up a fast, tanky killing machine that fits anywhere, although he doesn't use the buzz saws to often so if you want you could easily save that for last. I also use the adorable beeping voice and call him Fightin' Buddy

I have between 1 to 3 full hydraulic sentry bots per settlement. Fully upgraded with overcharged laser Gatling and high speed minigun for multiple hostile management with 2x shoulder Gauss rifles for max DPS against singular tough targets like gunner commander and boss raider etc

Sentry bots doesn't make good followers for going into dungeons however, they tend to get stuck and unable to get past doors and their backpack weapons are useless indoor. Though it is still fun watching it wiping out a raider/mutant/gunners encampments. They are still the best settlement defender and provisioner.

I created a big red sentry not with a skull face and twin gatling lasers. I tested him out on Deathclaws and noticed he wasn't doing much with what he originally had, so I gave him the two gatling lasers and put every Tesla armor piece I could on him to ramp up his laser damage. He seems to be doing better now. I opted not to put back attachments on him though, for fear that me might blow me up.

My favorite automatron has a protectron's head, a sentry bot's torso, and an assaultron's legs... I ended up naming him Legs because he's quite a sight to see. Legs is a beast in combat and can take down deathclaws on his own quite easily so long as he's at a safe distance. Giving him the ED-E-like voice just made it funnier.

I prefer having every part be Assaultron, specifically with the laser head, and twin Shishkebabs. The things are complete beserkers and it's beautiful watching them charge into a fight and annihilate everything, especially since Assaultrons have unique kill animations that are absolutely brutal.

I have a gorgon assaultron-headed robot, with sentry torso, sentry arms (with hammer and saw in one hand and a rocket launcher in the other hand) and assaultron legs. He is fast, not too huge, and as monstrous as a zombie fused with a mummy. On the shoulders, grenade launcher. One on each shoulder.

Use the carnage helm or the helm that has a chance of decapitation instead. They proc per hit, and the Gatling laser makes it activate within .5-3 seconds of fire. My sentry bot is killing mythic deathclaws (including legendaries) in less than a second with this.

That is not a maxed sentry bot. In order to fully max a robot, it is actually better to use the assaultron head that is at the bottom of the options list in the menu. After that, simply select all hydraulic equipment, with a few fat mans, and gatlings (personal preference) and then you have a maxed bot.

I honestly hope there’s going to be a make your own companion idea for elder scrolls 6. Conjuration could be used to make and edit your companions stored in books or staves.

Or we could have customizable dwarven companions kind of like the dwarves spheres and spiders you can summon after doing that one quest with the ethereal shield in skyrim
