I tend to build three ammo plants, each producing different ammo (the ones I use the most; shotgun, .45, and 5mm), elevated on a raised platform with angled belts to gently drop them onto a conveyor belt to the conveyor storage. Even if you're not using my exact setup, if you have more than one ammo plant, each one needs a separate power source and computer terminal. If they're all using the same power, they'll only produce the last ammo you selected at the terminal.

Yes, thanks for pointing it out. As always I wanted to keep the video simple and so I instead showed and talked about switching ammo types. But yes, you would need different terminals and power source for different ammo types.

Being able to passively build ammunition in a game like this is a huge benefit! Loved how you went in depth and made sure to explain and show people how to properly make sure they change out their raw materials when changing up the type of ammo being built! Great video buddy! Hope you are doing well😃🤘

Hey RA, it's so good to hear from you again. Thanks so much for checking out the guide. It's a cool way for sure to build both ammo and caps passively. It's nice because you can play the game normally and every so often make a quick stop to top-up. Thanks again for checking out my guide.

@@TrappedInFallout is there a way to hook up your workshop directly to the machine, so you don't have to hand pick the items from the workshop and transfer them into the hopper conveyer thing? because that process is annoying as hell to me, and i would just rather hook up some kind of vacuum conveyor to my hopper conveyor thing.

Unless in survival mode it's an easy way to load up all the caps you need since ammo has no weight.
@TrappedInFallout
@TrappedInFallout 4 ай бұрын
So true. When not playing in Survival Mode I use ammo as my source for caps. It's free, weightless and useful if you decide to pick up a backup weapon and have ammo for it at hand.

i hate vanilla survival mode, it's so messed up, instead i use Advanced Needs 76 mod on the nexus as it has far more options to choose to play survival as, and a few other options to make it worth while.

How about a tips video about Settlers and Provisioners. I haven’t seen too much online about this part of the game so any knowledge would be amazing.

Thanks for your comment and suggestion. I actually did make a guide for settlement building as a whole and went into detail about settlers and supply lines. Here is the link to the guide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpPTeoqrYrqemc0 Using the chapters in the video, jump to 'settlers and tasks', I think that might help answer some of your questions. I hope it helps.

I've only used this for giving my companions ammo when I find broken legendary weapons and making ammo stashes for survival mode Don't need it for caps I'm always set with funds in game, I know how to trade and when I do a hard mode playthrough just from 10 luck and scrounger being my go-to perk early game I'll have lot's of ammo I'll never use just from looting but Survival mode build=stashes, stashes, stashes because vendor and loot respawns happen at a way slower rate than normal etc. etc.

Thanks for sharing, very good points. Totally agree, with the right perks you don't really need any passive means of making caps as long as your happy to purchase when you have the caps. Which to be honest you will accumulate if you play the game normally. Thanks for your comment and for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated.

This is a good idea... In theory! Let me explain! You also need a lot of resources for this. While steel is a common material, fertilizer and lead are an issue. You could set up several Brahmin farms, and transport the brown stuff from each farm, and that's a lot of transporting if you're in survival. Unless I'm completely mistaken, there's also a cap on how much crap each farm can produce per day, but I might just be off on that one. In any case... If you resort to buying the materials instead, your profit margin will vanish completely. The lowest possible price on a shipment of 25 lead is 240 c (9,6/unit). Fertilizer costs 360 c (14,4/unit). This results in the following: Producing 10 rounds of 10 mm ammo costs 2 lead + 1 fertilizer = 2 x 9,6 + 1 x 14,4 = 33,6 The maximum selling price you can get for 10 mm ammo is 2 c per round. Spending 33,6 c just to get 20 c in return is just bad business. If one still wants to do this, then I suggest setting it all up in Vault 88, and manufacture .45 rounds instead. They use 2 steel instead of lead, and there's lots of that in Vault 88. This ammo type can also sell for 2 caps per round, so there's at least some profit there. And finally... Are you sure the machine keeps producing ammo while you're away from the settlement? The reason I'm asking is that it never has for me. It just... pauses, for lack of a better word. Then, it picks up where I left it when return to the settlement. Tried and tested!

@ronnierayburn998 Thanks for your comment. Firstly, yes it works when your not at your settlement. I have multiple farms across multiple settlements and it's all ticking away like clockwork. On the note on profit gained, true but the real benefit is being able to carry this all around and passively doing this in the background while you play the game normally. As the title suggests it's not just about making some caps on the side but also about generating ammo. You could also potentially setup weapon trading stands and 'swap' ammo with traders for ones your want while at a settlement. In short, it's passive, automated and provides multiple benefits. But, valid points on the margins which certainly is a valid argument. Thanks for your comment and for checking out my guide.

@@TrappedInFallout I always thought it was strange/stupid that I had to be at the settlement to keep producing. But, I also thought it was just another sloppy Bethesda issue. I've tried it many times, so I'm sure it doesn't work for me. Anyways... I think it's a great way to get ammo for selling or using. No arguments there! The problem is the resources needed to make it. I don't see it as the "cash cow" that the title of the clip lead me to believe. That's all! But, if you have a Heavy build, and want to use your minigun early on, it's fantastic.

There’s not a limit to how much junk, food, water or fertilizer can be generated daily, per se. However there’s a limit to how much of those can be in storage in your workshop before you can no longer generate new stuff. If you take all of those resources out daily, usually storing them in a separate container, you can continuously generate new stuff. Like a water farm. You can add a 1,000+ purified water in one day. But if you don’t remove it, none will be added. The limits are pretty low. I haven’t looked at the numbers in a while. But it’s like 200 junk, 15 food, 15 water, and 20 fertilizer. Don’t quote me.

it's possible an attack took place while you left and took out the power source, i have had that kind of thing happen to all the things i provide power to, and i often build myself a ring transporter that i think uses the same tech these conveyor's use in how it works transferring you from one settlement to another while in survival mode.

It basically doubles up offensively. If you don't sell the ammo then you can use them as rounds/clips for your weapon. The same can be said for water also. If you don't sell them then use them as aid items. Thanks for sharing.

Once you leave the area, the machine will stop. At least, that's how my factories work. So this usually ends up being a huge pain in the azz.. Your ammo and caps glitches are ten times better, IMO. But anyway, I wanted to ask you if you know how to reset the random campsite spawns? They all stop working after you reach a certain level, and you no longer have access to the level 4 merchants. Is there any type of fix for this?
@TrappedInFallout
@TrappedInFallout 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment, sounds like your having a couple of issues. So, firstly the factory working when your not in the settlement. It's actually been working for me fine. Maybe lucky but the only time it's not worked for me is when the machine run out of resources. Level 4 merchants, again working for me when I try to recruit them. And lastly, yes I did encounter the issue of not having the campsites spawn again. I was lucky enough to have this fixed and never happen again after I installed the unofficial patch for FO4. I hope this helps, thanks for your comment and feedback.

@TrappedInFallout

In some scenarios it might be but high level ammo such as 308 will probably out price their resource counterparts. That said ammo you don't sell also double up as ammo for weapons. Plus, one small bonus, on non survival mode resources have weight while ammo does not.

Is it, really? I generate the text, the effects, the color scheme, my own logos etc and put it all together. It takes me a while to make my thumbnails, can't put a number on it but not a 5 minute process, sometimes my thumbnails take longer than the content behind it. Still, I would be interested in knowing why you feel I am lazy with my current approach. Always happy for feedbsck, no drama, just asking - thanks.

Thanks for sharing. The image on this is AI, partly, I edit them after also to my liking - yeah, it shows. But the thumbnail you see on the video did not come out this way, I edited that too. I would still not consider it lazy, though, as it still took me real man hours to edit the whole thing. Tl Still, it's all good feedback for me to think about, many thanks for sharing.
