Kate the settler stuff is only from an unofficial mission that is completely optional to the player, which means the brotherhood would not do it, and they’re not even being forced out, only to donate a portion of their food, even bringing Danse around would bring no reaction from him, and he would do anything for the brotherhood.

Personally I think the Minutemen and the Brotherhood of Steel could benefit from joining forces. The Minutemen could do a lot of good with Brotherhood's weapons, training, and equipment. And the Brotherhood could benefit from the Minutemen's ideals, and methods.

Only problem with that is, the brotherhood doesn't benefit from a change of ideals, they full heartedly believe they should be the only ones with access to that technology(bar Elder lyons and his daughter). So in the grand scheme what you are saying is " I wish BOS would help people with their technology instead of hoarding it." Which makes sense, I do too. But their opposing ideals and core functions can't function together properly. Minutemen would not join forces with BOS, they wouldn't even spend time figuring out why they are doing what they are doing. Minutemen would say "They are a lot of people who could really use this gear/food/tech/knowledge for the betterment of the commonweatlh" and judging by elder maxson in fallout 4, BOS would have said... " But the raiders (who are GUARANTEED hostile and will attack with a spoon if need be) will use it." BOS plays a key roll in the raiders being able to raid so easily.

He was tired of being a mercenary, and wants to find a new meaning to his life. If you remember him in Fallout 3 - He was a leader of his community, and has been sufficiently disciplined. His behavior was entirely military. When his wife asked him what he was up to their meeting, he said that he was a soldier. Of course, he said it is because too shy to say that he was a mercenary. Nevertheless, make him a soldier in real life - Is beautiful way to give him a new sense of life and pay tribute to his late wife.

X6 is the only one who gets he BOS to attack and only Dane tries to ignore him. He is the most evil and dangerous to them. Strong is "safe" for as long as you are with him. Definitely he is the second most dangerous and evil. Valentine only gets some grumbles from the rank and file, like Hancock, but as long as you are there, they are persuaded that he is not a threat. Bonus points for him being so un-human like, so he removes the "hiding in plain sight" threat.

Personally, I still think the BOS has the best chance of helping the Commonwealth. Neither the Minutemen nor the Railroad have a real plan, other than help settlements that need it and help Synths escape from the Institute. Sure, they're a bit racist. But honestly, that racism doesn't come without reason. How many Feral Ghouls are there compared to sane ones? How many Super Mutants are anything like Fox or Strong were? The only thing I can't make a point for are Synths, who would just be regular humans should the Institute ever "go away". The Brotherhood of Steel are better equipped and better organized. And honestly, they're a better choice than the Enclave or the Institute.

i normally go with the minutemen because i like the fact of having a private army at my disposal but i like the brotherhood because it seems the most legitimate and i like the institute because its dirty above ground the only faction i normally dont play as is the railroad they just dont really seem to have anything that would make me wanna go with that route
