The game designers do not seem to be very intelligent throughout the game, but especially in the railroad quest line. So they are supposed to be super spies........but you find a spinning puzzle that spells out railroad.....this is the first sign that they are not too smart. Lol. Then only must have a code name.......no one else has one, but you the player must have a code name. And yes you must have maxed out Charisma if you put up with that idiot Deacons ideas.......I can assure you that you will not pass the speech checks unless your Charisma is maxed out......so listen not to the idiot Deacon. Just use good armor, a good weapon and go in guns blazing. So you are supposed to take the Vertibird and Tom is supposed to meet you at the police station.....he does not, you have to go all the way back to the railroad HQ to find his cowardly ass..........there he talks to you and gives you the explosives. Now the game tosses Deacon at you......you now have to talk to Deacon......and Deacon is so stupid he may wander all over the commonwealth before he finally makes it to the bus stop at College Square. Then and only then can you get on the Vertibird and continue onward. They should take Deacon out of the mix.....I do not need his B.S. weapon and 7 rounds of ammo.......really game......7 rounds of ammo against 20 BOS enemies.......give me a break and leave Deacon at home or just send him out to pet a Deathclaw. Yep the game makes no sense many times, but it is like this for the entire game, just like when you are in the institute doing all the missions and planning to betray them....hey they gave you a teleport chip and you mean to tell me they are not tracking your every move??? Come on game use some common sense. Cheers!!

You'll get to collect more rare BoS loot siding with the Instute against the BoS.Advance Laserweaponry for your settlers, Armors you can sell, Danse and Ingarm's Power Armor, Final Judgement, Maxon's Power Armor and more importantly Maxon's coat.

@@rehtric7166 Well the point of the quest is to "infiltrate and plant the explosives without causing commotion" unless you want to go guns blazing, kill all the commanders and grab their rare loot that's also possible. Though I doubt you'll get Elder Maxon's power armor since he'll just be in his usual battlecoat.

Personal opinionon all prydwen destructions Institute is the most badass/fun because of that helicopter vertiberd that lands Infront of you (it's even more badass when facing danse but he's babe so I keep him alive) Railroad is definitely the most tactical because you feel like an agent invading enemy territory Minutemen makes the most sense but it's really boring

I bought Piper with me for this and I just went all "Batman" on them before planting the bombs. Infiltrating, disguising and then performing an array of takedowns on the Brotherhood before escaping and looting their gear lol 😂

I just planted the bombs sneaking through the scribes and slowley making my way back to the vertibird It was a relief I did not get cought and have to get shot at by a bunch of soldiers with laser rifles that would be crazy and would make planting the bombs difficult.

I didn't get any of the decon quest dialogue once we were in the vertibird since I think I had him as a companion(many have been a mod since I do have an unlimited companion mod) so I didn't know that putting on a BOS uniform was an option and went in guns blazing XD. At least I got Maxson's battle coat and Gatling laser

I didn't seem to have an option for a disguise I snuck inside killed everyone in the initial room got to the main deck and killed Quinlan and a random initiate or two planted the bombs when out on the fortress deck thing for a few seconds then went back into the main deck and everyone was back to being peaceful so I stealth killed one guy snuck back to the lower deck drugged my gut up and killed Maxon and his guards with one to two hits each with my serrated- electric Chinese officer's sword went out to the flight flight deck killed everyone and escaped it was pretty fun

only if you kill everyone on it, and after planting the bombs go down the ladder you'll encounter maxon accompanied by 2 brotherhood knights, one with gatling laser and the other with a rocket launcher, if you manage to kill him you get his legendary gatling laser and the coat.

I was part of the railroad and I trick the brotherhood into thinking I'm one of them then with high charisma I talked my way up to the platform and I set the bombs then I hurried out
