So I know you're already a few episodes ahead, but I thought I would mention this here anyway as you specifically mentioned the Vault-Tec Rep. He's one of a handful of unique NPCs to recruit, many of whom can be assigned to specific lvl 3 vendor stalls and will then have unique legendary items for sale. The following are the ones I know of just from memory and where they can be found: Vault-Tec Rep in Hotel Rexford Trader Riley at Longneck Lukowski's Cannery (follow her outside to speak with her to recruit) The Scribe (BoS member but will not attack you if the faction is hostile, found in random encounters) Ann Hargraves at WRVR broadcasting station Tina De Luca in Vault 88 (do the questline associated with the Vault first, not a special merchant) There are several others, and you can find entries on each of them on the wiki

You can’t command Preston until you do the First Steps quest for the Minute man, it’s the first quest given by Preston.

Walls DO help keep raiders at bay. You just have to build them *behind* any spawn points you know about. Where most players go wrong is they build a wall all around Sanctuary's perimeter, which only keeps out the Raiders that spawn at the creek bridge and the river near the front of town. Also, your settlement screen says you have food because it is counting the wild food that was already growing in town, that does not count for Sturgis' jobs. In fact, it is best NOT to do anything ahead of time and just do what he wants as he asks.

Food is an annoying mechanic for settlements. Every plantable crop except mutfruit only counts as 0.5 units of food. Mutfruit counts as 1 unit of food. So you have to plant 2 instances of any other crops to equal 1 unit of food. Then there is the fact that each settler can be assigned to a maximum of 6 total units of food, meaning either 6 mutfruit plants or 12 other crop instances total.

This was a bane on that episode. I swear to god no matter how much I planted, Sturges just would not acknowledge it!

@@GentlemanlyGamingRTE Yea the food system is confusing. Easy way to simplify it is plant a bunch of mutfruit and call it good. Get into Diamond City and you can harvest their crops with no penalty. You can walk away with approximately 30 mutfruit. Since you're not doing a regular playthrough and just focusing on settlement building, you won't have to worry about crafting adhesive for mods. This makes mutfruit the easiest solution. Plant all the ones you harvest from DC, then check the workbench occasionally and pull out/replant the extra ones.

Honestly, I kept trying to talk to him and he just kept fobbing me off. I had to keep, replanting stuff for the option to finally appear. I have no idea what was happening, but it just wouldn't let me move on.

...and when you went to Boston to rebuild, you find that now it´s called Ciudad Bostonia and find a spanish flag there. (i´m sure nobody was expecting that) You know, some things never change. Yeah, I answered this in another comment. I recorded in the wrong aspect ratio and the conversion got messed up. Should be fixed from the fourth one onwards.
