I did this with Longfellow in my survival playthrough, and once I finally checked his inventory, he was carrying 13,000 pounds of junk and power armor pieces. And a way to get them to pick up stuff from the locker quicker is to have them crouch, then activate the locker, from my testing its about 2x faster since they don't try and walk away after activating the locker

It's a solid way to effectively have your own portable settlement workshop. Anything you don't need you can sell to vendors and keep the caps.

Its crazy the little glitches that exist in these games! This is great for when you are on a long adventure with a companion and dont want to leave items behind! Great video buddy!😃🤘

They always give you so much you want to carry but only so much ability to carry. Nice to have a work around!

it's a lot easier to drop stuff on the floor so you can see what she's actually picked up - a lot of the time she just ignores you and if it's in a container you have no idea, until you check, what's left.

Yes you could do that too. The downside is that it may take the companion longer to pick things back up. Especially if you have a lot of items.

I figured it out just yesterday from another video. I only play survival and this glitch kinda makes me a moving base and it's a real time saver just going back to my settlement. Maybe Bethesda didn't fix it in these years on purpose, because of survival time wasting. Who knows

Bethesda is pretty bad about not patching things up. So hard to say. There have been some pretty awesome glitches that they have patched, so I am leaning towards them just not getting around to this one. As opposed to them wanting to keep it.

@@copper4eva yes, like that bug freezing in vats when you get hungry or thirsty in survival mode. They didn't fix that until now and I rarely use vats bacuase of that bug.

Yeah, as long as you have a companion with you - you can literally 'carry' as much as you want without having to worry about hitting your carry limit. You can carry all the weapon, ammo etc but have your companion carry all the extra stuff. This also means you can equip them with their own armor and weapons too - so they don't have to just carry around resources or extra loot.

I always set my own carryweight to around 10x what it is normally in game in Bethesda games. I refuse to leave stuff behind and have to make multiple trips or to mess with companion inventories.

Fair enough. It would be nice to be able to carry things or maybe even arrange for a courier to pick things up and deliver them.

Sometimes the companions will be annoying and are always moving to another place.

That's true and that's why I try to ask the companion to stand next to the container first before asking them to search it.

I have not created the playlist yet as I am still working through the videos but I will do so shortly. Basically I create my playlist for DLC content once I am done with DLC and I think I will probably be done sometime this week.

I thought they would loot the container of all items with just 1 command. So maybe fill them with light items then glitch the hvy items for less repetitions.

That makes sense and should be in theory less time consuming. I only do this personally when I don't have much more room to carry stuff anymore and only remove the heavy items that I don't mind losing.

I've had problems with Dogmeat. When Dogmeat is at his load limit, he will fetch the item and drop it on the group near my character.

Given Dogmeat is not a 'human' he can sometimes behave a little differently. I have had dogmeat basically grab items from containers such like Cait in the video but likewise have also seen Dogmeat fetch items also and drop them at my feet (and even then the items actually don't drop and remain in his inventory).
