Note: I have Workshop Rearranged installed which is why you see [M] on some vanilla pieces. At the time of this video, workshop rearranged added a few items, but mostly reorganized the menu so it was easier to use. The items it reorganized were labeled with an [M] even though they were vanilla/dlc pieces (i.e. Scaffolding wood floors in the Wood tab). Every item I used for building and decorating are available without mods.

It seems like most settlement building videos out there showcase builds that aren't too thought through and are physically impractical structures, but you pay attention to the often overlooked details like porch supports and things like that. Good work 👌🏼

May i reccomended a build? a while ago i built this but lost my save. but it was amazing. at starlight drive i built an apartment complex. the lobby was on the top of the movie screen and then i built the actual rooms down the sides of the screen. the original enterance to the top of the screen was used as the enterance to my apartments. the side facing into the drive was storage and workshops and so on, the side facing out were the apartments. and on top of the lobby, at height limit was a roooftop diner.

That is an amazing, excellent idea, *Timothy Reth!* I am about to start playing Fo4, and I am definitely going straight to Starlight Drive-In to build exactly what you suggested, no lie. In fact, the timing couldn't be better bcuz for the past 2 weeks (real time, lol) I have been building, building, building nonstop. First was Sanctuary Hills. A five floor apartment that I sort of juat abandoned for now (I'll get back to it eventually). Then I went to Abernathy Farm and built a 21-Story house. Well, it's def not a house, it's basically one square floor plus the stairway per floor. So it's small. I just put waist high fences up instead of walls due to the building limit. And haven't really put anything in it yet (such as beds, furniture, defense, etc) and idk if I'm gonna keep it yet, since I have almost zero building space left available. I will most likely turn it into a 10 floor apartment complex with balcony's and a little defense on it. But I have been trying to figure out what to build at Starlight Drive-In and Red Rocket Gas Station. You just definitely helped me cross one off that list! So, Thanks Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for anyone wondering its at nordhagen beach i found out using the prydwen nh b is the only settlement (besides boston airport) thats that close also its toward the north

Most of my settlements are designed around the NPCs being accessible to the stuff I want them doing when I'm nearby or if we get attacked, they can have walls and I can see them all spooked out and wondering off with the guns out. I also like everyone having a theme with their gear. Like, Heavy Raider armor and Institute weapons for everyone. Team Sanctuary!

It's been 3 years so I don't have any hopes you might do this but at the end of the video you asked for suggestions. I've been working a Soul Survivor museum in Vault 88. All the cool clothes, armor, weapons, and power armor sets I don't use get put on display. I've got six rooms, one to show off the pre war life the SS had, next all the random armor and clothing sets (Silver Shroud, Atom Cats etc) next all vanilla armor sets and bosses (raider sets, BOS sets, Institute sets with Fathers coat and Kellogg's armor) then one for each main DLC (The Mechanist, Far Harbor, and Nuka World). Each room is decorated with only the stuff from that DLC and again, new weapons armor sets and any boss armor is on display. The reason I bring it up to is well you asked for suggestions and plus I don't use mods. And you're way better at building than I am. Care to give the museum idea a try? With and without mods maybe?

Great video and helpful as I was thinking of building my own player house at Nordhagen Beach (I'm a Lone Wanderer type too, don't like settlements.) I also like my house VERY basic and simple and I ended up living in the shack at the pier at Kingsport Lighthouse, which is fab; a very peaceful spot with great views and no need of big annoying fences around your site. Question: how the heck do you get your decorating done without using a Jaxonz Positioner-type mod? If I try to manually place a Nuka Cola down on a table, it just lies sideways or ends up flying over the room.....and I have no patience!
