It usually only activates in Atlas Fortress. And one by one. It doesn't matter if you take it from the wooden chest.

That is almost right. I believe the game keeps memory of the last 80 world objects picked up and the last 50 chests opened. So if they aren't respawning, just go somewhere else and just open everything.

I just followed this method and found 4 pieces of technical data at the bunker, in the desks in the military wing. No rare plans, but I’ll keep farming!

Captain Beardy Correct, I collected one, turned it in, and repeated- I only got ammo the first three times, and army fatigues on my final run. I’ll keep trying though!

If anyone can help me with a small question. The technical data, I will only activate the mission after I start the missions with the Brotherhood of Steel and discover the Ventura camp. So far everything is ok, no problems. But what can I do with the technical data I found before starting the missions with the Brotherhood of Steel? I ask this, because I have approximately 104 technical data in my inventory. Is there a way to deliver them or not, the ones I found before are just trash? I appreciate the attention and I owe a very cold nuka glue to anyone who can help me with this question.

Yes. The 104 you have in your inventory are useless and not worth anything.

Im guessing this has diminishing returns? After about an hour of doing this, the desks are now almost always empty, I didn’t pick up anything but one technical data at a time. I finally got one plan though, ty, the one I really want though is the elder paint.

Just make sure to hop server to reset the world chests (desks) but atm people are having trouble with this so I dunno.

Captain Beardy I read they added diminishing returns like they did to ESO, so after a while the odds of finding stuff trickle down, at least on PS4. It might be like the over world items laying around, like junk, if you loot an area and server hop, that stuff wont respawn, but if you go loot another area’s 180 items laying around then the ones before will reset.

Try the silos I've had up to 1 to 7 after you need put them in your stash box and take them out 1 at a time

Best farm is in nuke silos in main control room. In 80% cases i find one or two data per nuke 👍

Another good location is robco research centre as I have found many filing cabinets and desks there

I had the same thing happen with me while testing this out. It just happens. The paint plans have a drop rate of around 3% which i mentioned so you'll have to farm your booty off to get them.

@@CaptnBeardy Same, I hate the fact that they've nerfed these paints drop rate. At least Initiate and Knight should be higher, make the higher ranks harder to get but the earlier ranks should be far easier than they are.

You can't use technical data you already have. Like i said in the video, you need to use new data you pick up to kick the quest off again and then use this method to farm it. HOWEVER atm people seem to be having issues with the quest so im currently experimenting to see if it is broken.

This is an OLD guide and I think the quest has been “patched”. I’ll look into it for ya.

RIGaming7110 first check to see if you have the quest already active but just not tracking it. If that's the case then simply just finish the quest by turning in the tech data. If that isn't the case then make sure you have progressed along the Brotherhood of Steel questline to get access to the quest. If you simply haven't got far enough through the BoS questline then all you gotta do is play through it till it gives you access to this mission and voila, jobs a good'n. IF none of that works then I'm afraid I don't know what is causing the problem and I'd direct you to google and Reddit so you can see if anyone else is having the same issue.

Apparently people have been able to buy or get given pieces of Tech data and it sets the mission off. I just tried and it didn’t work so I’m still not 100% with that but I do know that pieces of tech data on your stash are worthless.

With the new update grab as many tech data put the rest besides one in ur stash go to atlas turn one in go to ur stash (theres one in atlas) grab one turn it in rinse repeat

xFearsomePandax none of them will work. You have to pick up a fresh piece of tech data to start the quest, the ones in your stash are mouldy and need to be thrown out. Go drop them and pick up a fresh piece, take it to the fort, put it in the slot, go back for another and repeat till you are satisfied (don’t forget to server hop when your server runs out of tech data where you are farming it)

All that tech data is useless. You can’t sell tech data anyway because if it isn’t used it becomes worthless. I’d suggest dropping it and following the instructions in the video so you can use the tech data to get the plans you want from the BoS. If you where asking about selling it to players then it’s still worthless because they wouldn’t be able to use it.

I’d recommend dropping them all and picking up a fresh piece and see if that resets the quest.

No worries. Sometimes if you’ve had the data sitting around for EVER then the game just doesn’t register you have the quest so you just gotta give it a kick in the pants and remind it you are able to do the quest. Go check out Watoga school and in the file cabinets you can find tech data or check the tables in the enclave bunker under white springs.

Buying from players does work, I just saw a camp right next to Venture, at first I was all “scammer” but then I saw how low he was selling for AND he had a sign that said “buy 1 turn it in, then come back” and it works. Buy 1 turn it in, buy another etc... Im betting itd work for alts if you dropped one, then log on and pick it up with an alt, BUT I cant check because I NPCed the 500 I had after watching this lol.

I’ll have to look into that buying from people claim because it was cut out by Bethesda ages ago. Still if it is back I wouldn’t recommend. It’s a lot easier to go look in a file cabinet or table at Whitespings and it basically costs almost nothing to loot and fast travel between the enclave bunker and camp venture PLUS people are dicks and ramp up the cost is things for no reason. I’ll defo look into everything.

Captain Beardy im not a liar, it worked exactly as his lettering said, bought 1, turned it in and completed the quest and went back and bought another. He only had 10 though. Im still trying to get the bunker spawns to work, it’s been a while and they’re still empty

No worries dude. I'm just gunna make sure it's a 100% legit thing because what happened to you might have just been a fluke OR Bethesda have messed up again and allowed the selling of tech data which is going to cause people to, once again, sell it for stupid prices and try to exploit people.

Just the mil wing. Search all the desks but DONT pick up tech data if you see it. If there is more than one piece then only pick up ONE then turn it in at the fort. Rinse and repeat until you've picked up all the tech data and then move server.

You can cash all of them one at a time if you have a ton on you so literally farm a ton then go to the cache spot. You need to put all of technical data into a draw below the cache spot besides 1 which is the one you will put into the cache.WAIT until the quest leaves on the right side of the screen then pick up the whole batch from the draw, the quest should then start up straight away. Once it does repeat the same steps and you can do them all together one after the other :)

It wasn’t possible when I made this video. I tested it with roughly 7 peeps including randos and friends with both sides buying and selling but it didn’t work. Recently people have told me it is possible but I can’t find anyone I know that it works for on PS4 and this was made as a way to show a quick and simple method that didn’t require spending lots of caps in travelling.

It use to work like that, you could horde tones and then just pop them in but it was broken and you could just spam the drop off point and get every plan so they changed it to this way making it fair for everyone AND stopped the people trying to swindle players their caps by selling tech data at stupidly high prices. TBH it's better this way because it's way more balanced than before and it makes you work for the plans and costumes instead of just spamming the slot.

Make sure you have these steps done: .Progressed far enough through the brotherhood quest that you can trigger the event. .you aren’t trying to use a piece of technical data you already had (because they don’t work) If it still doesn’t work then I don’t know the problem but if I find out then I will let you know.
