What a coincidence! We just played Fallout Atomic Bonds last night with 4 players with some friends, they are not used to board gaming, and they loved it! That was the first time I played Atomic Bonds and it really is leaps and bounds better with it. Great to see this video, altough I'm not going to watch to not spoil me, since we are definately going to play it again :)

Fallout with Atomic Bonds is my 2nd favorite boardgame of all time. With the cards from New California Expansion, you get tons of replayability. Fallout has the dice chucking battles which many post-apocalyptic rpgs lack!! Thank you for a fun playthrough!

This is such a great game. I totally see how this inspired Arkham Horror 3rd edition. The card library is just like the codex, and then when you add cards, you put it in with the top 2 cards of the respective deck and shuffle those 3 cards (just like you do when adding clue cards in AH).

Yes, liked your show, made me want to get my board of fallout and play it. The one thing I noticed while setting up since you mentioned about plays in the future, how about a play through of the far harbor scenario it kinda looked interesting since there are really no enemies. 47:50 Aww. A wasted Cap. (The original and landing paces were touching, so there was no need for two moves.) Honestly, the most confusing part of this game is EXP. The second most confusion is dealing with enemies when you have a lot on the board. You did made a GREAT point near the start of the video though: It's my own bloody fault for exploring so much and exposing all those spawn points. XD

I’m so happy to see this game getting more exposure. Doesn’t deserve the hate it gets but I understand since without the atomic bonds expansion it’s a weird game when playing competitive. But I do just love fallout immensely haha. Also those “dots” on the die are cogs, or vault entrances 😉. Thanks for the playthrough video!!

Great vid. To my understanding, getting 3 upgrades would only complete 1 goal, because the numbers stack. You need six upgrades to flip those 2 goal cards. You could also go back 2 spaces of on the track for the brotherhood for completing a goal. I have the game. I find it a bit too difficult, but fun nevertheless.

Oh my, another one of these! I played a few games of this a month or so ago; I adore this game (with the Atomic Bonds expansion). I still need to play with the expanded map! Also, I ended up going with Gears of War over Fire Team Zero; just too much of a huge of the IP, but I can easily see how they're both great games!

GoW is such an amazing game, I definitely prefer it over Fire Team Zero (although the FTZ minis are amazing). The enemies respawning always in FTZ just never sits well with me. Lol honestly just had to comment since GoW is my fav board game and it's a tad rare to see it mentioned.

Its possible to help with monster/creature/bad guy tracking, to take an appropriate highlighter/map color and color in the background of the portrait of the enemy token making it stand out more at a glance. That small color band across the center just doesnt seem to help that much.

Why not use colored dice to mark what you've moved already? Or just cubes? It depends on what you have laying around. Move and mark. Scan the board. Do any fights. Remove cubes from enemies you lost to. Remove all cubes once you're done with the enemy turn.

I don't get it. The rules say, that if I attack an adjacent enemy with a ranged weapon, that has no ranged weapon icon, I get an additional automatic hit. Means, the enemy, that has no ranged weapon, still is having a chance to deal damage to me, even though, it is too far away? BGG forum seems to be sure about this, that it is attacking somehow, even though it has no ranged weapon and technically is too far away for a melee hit, right? This somehow feels like a big immersion break, but I assume, the balance otherwise would be broken?

It is weird but it's true otherwise there would be 0 tension in the game once you have a range weapon

Regarding levelling, around 17:20 , what you mean to say is if you're supposed to get like 6XP and you only have 2 letters to begin with, you won't be getting more than one letter?

After the activation cards run out and have to be reshuffled. Don’t you have to move the enemies down one bar?

In the base game it said that both factions would go down one bar. However I don’t know how that changes with the atomic bonds add-on. It isn’t stated anywhere unfortunately

I was going to comment on how tricky it is to track which enemies activate on a given turn, but you beat me to it =D. I know they're committed to a consistent color palette, but having more distinctive colors on the outside of the token might help.

Yeah, thematic or not ranged weapons don’t change any of the other combat rules
