I wanted to post this sooner, but with the fires in LA, I've had a few delays, and it also felt a little tasteless to be doing a series that's based in post-disaster Los Angeles 😅 Thankfully things are starting to settle down, so thank you to everyone who reached out! Barring any catastrophes, FALLOUT Episode 6 is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28th, and Episode 7 for next Friday, January 31st.

It’s not entirely the same thing, but when The Last of Us Part 2 the video game came out, it was decidedly unsettling to play a game about a worldwide pandemic at the outset of our own real world pandemic via Covid. So I understand those feelings. In any case stay safe and it’s great to see your reactions to this again, it just keeps getting better and better and more and more fecked up, it’s fantastic!

I like how Betty comes off as a kindly older lady, but... She knows what Norm has been up to and their last dialog just confirms the little game they are playing with each other. That last long look she gave him was a threat to stop pushing it. I hope the second year of this show is just as good as the first. Things get more interesting after this episode.

One thing I love is the dichotomy of Lucy and Norman. Lucy is a powerhouse, brilliant, willful, strong, but naive to a dangerous degree. Norman, her counter-balance, is in many ways frail, but when it comes to the games of politics and intrigue, within days he’s going toe to toe with Betty. His, “Great job cleaning up,” line is tops!

A lot of people forget that Max told Lucy his name was Titus back in episode 2. It seemed like Lucy genuinely forgot, and maybe she did, but she asked his name right after telling him about her trust issues. That raises the possibility that she remembered and was testing him. Since Max was at her mercy, maintaining the lie was the safer choice.

A T-60? Might as well be walking around in tinfoil. No way it stands up to my supercharged T-51b. Not even a Deathclaw can damage me in one of those. As a Fallout 1 veteran, seeing what happened to Shady Sands was heartbreaking. There's some rage from other fans over some of the Shady Sands scenes, but I have a more sentimental attachment to it since it's the first civilization you visit in the entire series. It looks much different than the TV series, but that's to be expected since it doesn't really come into its own until Fallout 2.

Let's see. Vault 15 opened in 2097 (due to overcrowding), Vault 8 was given the all clear in 2091 becoming Vault City, Vault 81 was opened by the Overseer in 2287, Vault 21 opened in 2274 when it was taken over by Mr House, Vault 3 opened up because of a Water Leak (not specified when) and most of the residents of Vault 34 left due to overpopulation (technically it remained sealed and the remaining residents mostly became ghouls). I think all of the rest of the Vaults remained sealed or their experiments destroyed them. The point I'm making is that some Vaults had "early" openings or "Reclamation Days" usually as part of their experiments. The residents of Shady Sands were partly overland survivors and partly Vault 15 descendants.

The power armor being able to be shut of from the outside locking the pilot inside seems like a major designflaw to me. Could be that Maximus just doesn't know how to manually open the suit. Then again this is the parody of the US Military and we have already seen some major designflaws of that armor. 5:40 That lie makes no sense. The name would not make any difference to Lucy. Also in some fantasy Knight cultured this is how it goes. The crusaders in Diablo would have a squire and the squires would take theplace of their fallen master, gear, name and all.

Betty "buried" his mother? In a vault? While wearing pre-war technology?
@arellajardin81886 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's threatening but it doesn't make any sense for her to say that to Norman. He knows how the Vault works. Bodies go to compost for precious nutrients, prewar tech would be preserved and passed down.

@@arellajardin8188 I think it does make sense, as it's a veiled threat. Also, I think they undersell how important it is that civilization had restarted and only just recently fell apart again.
