My guess is that the drug that delays ghouls going feral is a new and recent development in the Fallout timeline, say in the last 20 years or so. That way instead of the canon being changed, it's just a matter of more canon being added.

For the people that don't know, the Gary vault, vault 108, was a vault meant to open in 38 years, but have it's main power fail in about 20, with its backup power not being enough to power the entire vault. However, the scientists in the vault were testing out cloning on a guy named Gary, and each clone came out hostile to any non-clone, with it getting worse each clone. Eventually the Garys killed everyone else

TY for saying this. I started to get annoyed by the OP saying what a FO fanboy he is, but then has no idea bout the Gary vault, or Gulpers& so many other well est items or facts in FO. Then he goes on & constantly guesses more wrong than right.. again.. bout established facts in the FO universe.

@@BellaTrix0707 you can be a fanboy and not know anything, all you need to do is like the overall content, he isnt an expert on the universe, maybe he is new and just learning most of it. i love FO and i couldnt have told you what vault number it was, only that gary was a clone army from one, i didnt even remember they were hostile to all non clones and that it was a progression from kinda to extremely hostile... tidbits like that tend to be forgotten lol so many games i love like armored core, played it from the 1st to the most recent and cant tell you most of the details, only the overall stories and even thats spotty... aka you dont have to be an expert to be a fan

I think the Ghoul is cool. He's just trying to survive and doing a good job at it. I like that he's somewhat of an anti hero. I really hope he doesn't soften up too much in the future.

I honestly think there is no other way a person can turn out after being nuked and surviving in a shithole like the Wasteland having to do anything to survive like cannibalism and such for 200 damn years, Lucy has only been out a few days and look how much she changed. So put anyone in the position of the Ghoul, plus wasn't he buried alive in the beginning? So he spent some part of that (years probably) buried alive apparently, always conscious. He uses every chem there is and drink, and it's been going on for 200 years. I just think nobody can have lived through what he lived and kept their morals intact, give Lucy 200 years of this nonsense and see if she is as kind.

Very first time playing fallout 3 my first fallout experience I went straight to the Super duper mart and got unlucky with a deathclaw random encounter out front I thought he got killed by a dinosaur I had no clue what it was and I was dead before I even got a good look at it.

I could only guess it's Rad-X, which was technically a drug in-game but would prevent effects of the radiation progression

i think the drugs the ghoul needs is new. there was a doctor who trying to help ghoul transformations in 3 this might be the end results of that. the 28 year from when he stared showing could be talking about when he started going feral sign

I'm getting Outlaw Josey Wales from The Ghoul. If Overseer Hank was in contact with the Overseer in 32 over the years then he knew what was going on right up to the time of the wedding. We've all been through what Lucy is going through as a new player.

My guess was its the radiation chem Hancock used to become a ghoul and it has a secondary use for people who are already ghouls to keep them from turning feral. But it was created on the west coast pre war and not much made it to the east coast before the bombs dropped making a limited supply and no knowledge on how to manufacture it on the east coast.

2:10 I think the anti-feral medicine is unique to this adaptation. In the inhaler form it looks like Jet. IMO they just needed some plot device to explain why some ghouls were feral and some not that would be quick to depict and could be used to explain the upcoming encounter.
@allycard6 ай бұрын
right now my head cannon is underworld (ghoul city in fallout 3. had some doctors studying feral ghouls) found a "cure" for feralization. keeps you from going feral but maybe without a constant supply actually speeds up the process during withdrawal. may just be a retcon.

Very Very minor spoiler for episode 5. A bag of radaway is shown in episode 5. It's the same color as the drug the ghoul takes. It looks like the bags above his grave in episode 1. It seems they have gone with needing to reduce their rads on a semi regular basis to stop going feral.

My guess on what the anti-feral drug is, at least my head cannon, that it is cerebrospinal fluid maybe mixed with rad-x.
@MagatsuUjio6 ай бұрын
I think it’d be radaway, reduce their radiation level to stop them from progressing further.
@cactusjuice82776 ай бұрын
The drugs the ghoul takes on a daily basis has to be radaway. When you think about it, it makes sense. It is similar to the color of the radaway in the video games and radaway is meant to take away your radiation poisoning. But for the ghouls, it just keeps them from going feral.
@DavidWright11386 ай бұрын
I still think the vials are just drugs, and they've been convinced the drugs stop them going feral to make a sale. And I still believe going feral is psychological - isolating themselves and losing their drive or focus or goals is what makes them lose themselves to the wasteland.
