There is a big chance that what thaddeus was given was FEV serum. Which would explain the regeneration. They will most likely be using him to introduce super mutants next season. They briefly showed the hand of one as the scientist left the enclave.

This is my personal theory. Whilst there are a couple of mentions in the games of drug related ghoulification, I feel the FEV and supermutants are too big a part of fallout not to be brought in in the second season.

Dogmeat has always been named Dogmeat, from the first game. He is named after "Dogmeat" from the movie "A Boy and his Dog" from the mid-70s.

When the doctor gave him that medicine, he did say he wouldn't have to worry about radiation anymore. Which instantly made me think he was turned into a ghoul. Not sure how of course it works with what he gave him.

Anyone exposed to such radiation dies, except ghouls .Why? Cause it seems people who got resistance strain genes may survive becoming ghouls instead so my theory would be that the medicine somehow included some gene resplicing or overwriting mutagen plus a highly radioactive water or such to trigger the change

There was an example of someone becoming a Ghoul through a drug in Fallout 4. Hancock, the mayor of Good Neighbour. You’re right that it’s usually radiation exposure that causes it. I assume that the drug itself is highly radioactive.

I'm pretty sure it involves receiving lots of rads either by exposure or consumption but unless u also got the relevant resistant genes you die. So my theory is it includes some mutagen or genetic overwriting to get you the correct genes?

Becoming a ghoul is often a mutation caused by radiation. Not everybody exposed to lethal radiation becomes a ghoul. Fallout wiki describes it as people with "specific biology" exposed to an unspecified amount of radiation can turn into ghouls.

Hancock and eddie winter from fallout 4 both ghoulified through chems, also point lookout dlc in fallout 3 the main ghoul (cant remember his name) did it similarly. Is Dredd(2012) still on watch list?

This is correct...and even the first ghoul we canonically meet in the Fallout universe, Harold, was a result of exposure to FEV and radiation. I've always assumed that the reason some people ghoulify and others don't when exposed to radiation was the levels of FEV in their system, which I believe according to the lore of Fallout 2 and possibly Fallout 3, is now a baseline at some level in all life in the Wasteland. It's kinda like the revelation in The Walking Dead that *everyone* already had the walker-virus in them, so anyone who dies actually rises as a walker, being "infected" by a bite just made it happen faster.

The Ghoul Cooper had to sew on a finger because it didn't regenerate. Thadius regenerated his foot. The possible theory on Thadius is that he got a small does of the FEV and will be a super mutant.

Some have postulated that what Thaddeus took might have been a version of the 'mysterious serum' from Fallout 4. Idk how that would work, since there was only one source of that, but hey... it's a theory. (or it might've just been a concentrated rad potion, turning him into a ghoul)

Dogmeat is the canonical name of the dog companion since the original Fallout game. Search Dogmeat Fallout at Wikipedia. It seems there was no Dogmeat in FO:NV but there was in all of the other mainline games.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT: it is cannon that you can become a ghoul by taking a certain medication. The Nick Valentine quest chain leads you to a criminal from the Lone Survivors time who turned himself into a ghoul before the bombs fell so it has been shown to be possible to become a ghoul by means other than radiation

Almost astounding to hear your description of capitalism (with profiting from doom and gloom) and oligarchy, when that's where the US is today. Both parties are in the pockets of the donor class. What would be considered corruption in most other western democracies (buying politicians, supreme court judges etc) has been legalized in the US. So policies supported by the people, but oppsed by the donor class have no chance of passing. While at the same time, ploicy opposed by the people, but supported by the donor class, is almost guaranteed to pass into law. And at the same time, the media sells the people the doom and gloom, pitting voters of one party against the other making it seem like there is an important choice there. But no matter which party rules, the few ultra rich will continue to buy the policies they require to continue to grow their wealth and power at the expense of the regular people.
