About London's difficulty. I found the early game MUCH Harder if you choose to work with Vagabonds than if you were to just go directly to Thamesheaven because Vagabond's questline will quickly make you fight the IODS' which are honestly too tough for someone who at best has slightly improved 9mm not to mention the fact that if you're on survival you'll be forced to continuously go through the Greenwich tunnel which is very long and highly irradiated which will quickly use up all your rad away/rad-x supply and let me tell you there aren't a lot of those lying around in the early game. I would recommend anyone ignore Vagabonds at first because by going directly to Thamesheaven you'll get your dog early, you'll be mostly fighting weak enemies and you'll get Fisherman's friend(OP early game revolver)

@burchie1224Ай бұрын
The major problems I identified was related to the economy and weapon balancing. It's really dissapointing when you finally get a Bren gun in .303 and it does less damage than the 9mm Sten gun you've been using for the last twelve hours. Also buying two magazines of 9mm for the Sten will easily cost you 700 tickets, or a third of your total wealth, while selling an SMLE to a vendor only gives you enough money to buy five or sick 9mm bullets.
@JustCallMeWestyАй бұрын
You're right, the economy wasn't the best. Especially when it came to buying things like Stimpacks and Radaway.

I've noticed even small things like the fonts remind me of old UK TV and trends in fonts from back then (like those used by the BBC or Underground around then). Theres also so many small visual gags and references that have gone over my head or only worked within my knowledge of American pop culture in previous Fallout games. Not for Fallout London :). I've probably never seen any piece of media like this that taps into a retro-futiristic British aesthetic.

I agree in general while having a bit different experience due to the fact I actually really like most F4 mechanics, including leveling and perk systems (although Idiot Savant perk seemed to be to be a bit broken and trigger way to often) One thing I'd add is that FOLON lacked banter dialogue that was forced on the base dialogue system. If you could talk with some random NPCs about state of the world more, and ask traders about their life I think that could have flashed out the world and main factions much more, making world feel much more alive

Nice video! I finished my playthrough a few days ago - rough at first with the crashes and whatnot, but their first big Hotfix helped a lot. Load times were the main problem after that. But they have done a huge new Hotfix, in which they have fixed a lot of bugged quests etc. They also fixed Miss Crake's VA corpsing, which was a shame, tbh. Not going to replay for a month or two - they may have done even more fixes by then. Definitely will install on SSD this time! Until then, because GOG offered Game of the Year edition for £13.00, I now have all the DLCs to play!.

Any moder is gonna install that mod so they know where to cut their loses.

I love the game. I think the team did a brilliant job. I've said it many times on different videos and posts about it, that I really hope that other mod authors pick up where the original team left off and grow and expand the world with new locations, factions and quests. I've already added a sprinkling of mods I've used in Fo4 to add to the experience (Lower Weapon animation, Hunter of The Commonwealth, and a couple of build assets for settlement building). I also added a couple of Fallout London specific mods to make it feel even more distinct from the original game (changing the colour of the screwdriver, the names of items like Bobby pin to hairpin, wrench to spanner, ghouls to commuters to fit in with the lore, changing the sound of VATS to a Big Ben chime). These little changes make it stand out even more. But yeah, I'd like to see mod authors take advantage of the lack of the Brotherhood, Institute, NCR, Enclave and the like and embracing the new world and location and telling interesting stories within it.

The game crashes for you? I haven't had regular crashes since the V1.01 update and not a single one on the V1.02 update that just came out a couple weeks ago. Also while LLTF is good for fixing loading times, you should use High FPS Fix instead because not only does it uncap the framerate without breaking the physics it has further tweaks to speed up loading. "Fallout London is Almost a Masterpiece" For the record. the base game of Fallout 4 is FAR from a masterpiece, itself! Personally , even with it's problems, I would rate Fallout London as a better game than Fallout 4, particularly in regards to it's story, it's twists and it's factions! I got Fallout London as soon as it was released and yes, it had a lot of performance issues at the start. Additional mods such as Buffout 4, the update for 'London itself, more importantly making sure all my drivers and so on are up to date has eliminated most of the problems entirely. I stopped playing myself for a little bit, due to annoyance with long loading screens. But with the aforementioned fixes, I got back into it, it ran as smoothly as any other game with just the very occasional frozen loading screen. I was then able to complete the game and can't wait to get into another playthrough and try out another faction. It's not unusual for games to lock off certain areas until a certain part of the story. With 'London, most of the boroughs are locked off until you need to get signatures from the leaders of said boroughs, but I actually liked this as it lets you get used to the main style of London before introducing you to the different styles of the different areas. If you were hopping from one borough to another early on I think the styles would blend together with the main areas and not be as distinct. The increased emphasis on melee weapons I really liked, and also more British as traditionally there isn't as many guns generally available. There's a sword in The Hound pub that I picked up early on and was still effectively using (with the right mods and perks) towards the end of the game I hear what you are saying about the factions and the choices, you don't get a lot of information to start. That said, everything I did hear made it pretty easy to decide that Camelot was the one I wanted to help.

So far it’s way below Bethesda quality but what can you expect for free? If you’re a Fallout die hard you’ll probably enjoy it and again - FREE! They cut a lot of corners and tend to add difficulty through being unclear on where exactly to go and don’t use the quest or objective marker to show you the direction always. I realize since it’s not a full release they likely need to add some gameplay hours through getting you lost (the very first objective is to get out of a building without the objective marker) and it makes for a pretty boring experience. I’m hoping they try and stick closer to the Bethesda formula and it picks up. Over all if you’re a die hard you’ll like it and even if not it may be worth it just because it’s FREE! Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! Script took me about 3 days to write? An hour to record and decent amount of time to edit! Working on more so stay tuned!

As a lifelong fan of the Fallout franchise, ale the way back since I was a kid in elementary school, I really wanted to like this game. But I couldn't. I accepted the painstaking setup required to play on the Steam version of F4. I swallowed the necessary addition of buffout and various other fixes to make it run smoothly and prevent crashes. I have bee ignoring all the bugged out quests I could not finish due to unresponsive NPC's or quest markers pointing at closed doors. All the time I was like: "It's a free mod made by fans, it's awesome as it is, some triple-A games have similar issues." But after my third companion decided to bug out to the point I could not take him with me nor do his quest, I gave up. But that was a couple of days/weeks from release. I'm glad to hear there were some patches made, I'll be sure to give it another go in the future.

Completely understandable! Like I said in the video, a mate of mine has yet to play it properly for the same reason. They have put out a few updates for the game but it could take months before a lot of the smaller issues are solved. It's in a better state now than when it was released but it might be best to come back and try it again once they've finished patching it!

Yea, I think that it's in part my fault that I've somewhat expected a fan project of this size to be perfect from the start. I'm sure I would have had the same opinion about Cyberpunk 2077, if I hadn't played it for the first time a couple of years after release in version 1.6, and a second time in v2.1, and now it's one of my favorite games. At that stage the game was stable and I haven't encountered any bugs. I'll just wait some more, until I get the hankering for another playthrough, and I’ll give it another shot.

It’s funny cuz Bethesda has left in voice line bloopers in the finished game before. I think everyone knows about that one dialogue interaction in Oblivion.

I just found out that fallout London takes place before fallout 2, 3, new Vegas & 4. Wow.

If you visit the Bank of England before the main quest takes you there, the game will bug out & not give you the quest to go there. Had to use console commands to progress the quest line so I could continue. Not sure if it’s been patch by now but yeah that & the crashing is a lil annoying but worth dealing with cuz this mod is so fucking good.

Interesting! I didn't know that! Might have been patched by now but I'm not sure? Either way it doesn't take away much from the fact that it's a fantastic mod!

The main obstacle to siding with Camelot, for me, is that I find the "cosplayer" factions in this game conceptually very silly and off-putting and would prefer to see them destroyed to create a more sensible future. I can't get invested in the political agendas of these cartoon characters. I hope the Wildcard ending will let you choose who to blow up, like how you can eradicate the stupid costumed casino factions on the Strip in New Vegas when you take over.

Actually fallout London is bigger than 4 & far harbor combined.
