Yes, sadly I don't have access to Bethesda's budget for hiring a live orchestra, it is a free mod project, and we are all volunteering our time. I made the decision to use more expressive VST to fit the style, over perhaps more "realistic" ones that would be too cinematic and orchestral. Most orchestral recordings from the 40s and 50s were done with a single, mono mic and are of exceedingly low quality. Big Band is also exceptionally difficult to capture with VSTs, as there simply are no really decent quality jazz brass and sax ones out there, that don't cost a small fortune :)
