Well at least in this incarnation it’s just a normal serial killer who kills people because of past trauma, who’s delusioned and deluded himself into thinking he’s doing the right thing by killing children. The writing _could've been_ okay if the writer would've held back on the Lone Wolf's monologuing and paid just a bit more attention to avoiding obvious cliches and contradictions. The questline had an interesting *premise to work with but the overdone edgelord monologues and the few cliches watered it down to mediocrity at best. (*Someone suffering a harrowing tragedy and becoming a brutal malefactor who ironically perpetuates the exact same tragedy unto others as a coping mechanism. ) As a bright spot I have to say that *Kinsmarck* (Last Level Press) does an excellent job as the Lone Wolf's VA. Almost enough to save the character from it's own writing. _Almost._

Lone wolf justifies him killing the child as a mercy kill but still decapitated her head and dropped it off in Primm to show the mother the fate of her daughter. This is absolutely absurd, i guess the reason he dropped off the head is so to warn the townies of Primm to not have children or be more wary of theirs but still, WHY??? He reasons the killing because he doesn't want the child to suffer a fate worst than death but is fine with defiling her body like that? if he wanted to send a message he could've just dropped the teddy bear or anything that indicates that madeline's daughter was missing or killed. He is still well written I supposed but there are things that just doesn't add up.

Spoilers for a game nobody played and nobody cares about: In Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, the protagonist receives a prophetic vision of the first World War, where he sees his sons die in the trenches. Obsessed with it as a coming apocalypse, he "mercy kills" his children and builds a doomsday machine to try to prevent World War I. Those of you who have played The Dark Descent are aware of the potion that Daniel drinks giving him amnesia (hence the title) and AMP begins with the protagonist stumbling back to his room with the same potion dripping onto the ground, setting the stage for the psychological horror to come. Why is the default mode for any fallout antagonist, modded or not, "I'm sO EdGy!" Seriously, the whole "lone wolf, they're too weak to live," and blah blah blah is just way too over done. It all boils down to "might is right," just with different wrapping.
