Saw a different type of ghost a week or so, ago. (Usually they're shadow people, or a tiny black spec about the size of a house fly. A 3D shadow not cast against a surface. Less frequently light balls/people.) But about a week or so back, the spirit, itself, was invisible. But it was interacting with a string of LED lights, dimming one, and casting a shadow of black flame. I tried waking up my wife to see it, as it was kinda cool. But she gasped when she awoke and the activity instantly ceased. Never seen a spirit cast a shadow, ever...never mind, a shadow of black flame.

The whole origin of the Yao Guai name doesn't make sense. They were supposedly named by Chinese in internment camps BEFORE the Great War. But where were these mutated, irradiated bears coming from BEFORE the Great War, before the bombs dropped and irradiated everything? I mean, there are bears in China, it's not like Chinese people don't know what regular bears are and named them Yao Guai. So where did mutated bears come from before the bombs dropped?

Outside of a little less care put into 76- Is Elder Scrolls Online any better? It’s the risk you run making open world RPG’s and wanting them to be that first over the source material. But with one hit-or-miss inarguable success already under the belt I can think (outside of corporate greed) that the ball was dropped on 76 because of its complex lore- setting- and Timeline. But fuck man- They did the TV show like no other.

Should have been Radbear. Yao Guai makes zero sense. Why wouldn't wastelands remember what a bear was? Every other rad creature has an American name. Yao Guai makes sense in aFallout China game but not in a USA fallout game.

@erikcarlsen2179 why are Brahmin called Brahmin and not cows? They were taught that they're called brahmin after it caught on after the war, Yao guai is the same way. People were taught that they were called Yao guai after the name caught on with wastelanders, plus they don't exactly look like regular bears, so I'd understand if people thought they were different than bears, because they are.

“We have to go to Wikipedia to find out …”. Yikes. 😳 as smart as going to your barber for medical advice
@FalloutLorecast4 ай бұрын
Interesting that you bring that up. Barbers used to do more than just cut hair. You could actually go to them for medical advice, especially in towns without physicians. Secondly, wikipedia is the most accurate encyclopedia of knowledge ever created. The requirements for accurate references and rigorous vetting process keep inaccuracies extremely low. The Excyclopedia Brittanica gathering dust on your grandma's shelf isn't anywhere near as accurate. If you don't believe me, look it up. There are studies.

@@FalloutLorecast glad you are aware that barbers were the closest thing to a surgeon, some 200 years ago. But wikipedia is nowhere near a trustworthy source of information, as its crowdsourced. The recent kerfuffle about Yasuke coming to mind
@FalloutLorecast4 ай бұрын
@@teslapilot5755 You can cherry-pick examples where it fails, sure. No source is perfect. But there's more to it. Even the most critical of scientific reviews have shown that it's no less accurate than any other generally accepted source. The most favorable scientific reviews claim it tends to be more accurate. Again, look it up. The info is out there. Just because you can point at a big scary incident doesn't mean that those are most common. Most people are afraid of sharks more than bees, but bees kill 100 times more people every year. Same sort of thing.

@@FalloutLorecast There's multiple instances where Wikipedia has been manipulated for propaganda. Even Wikipedia has its own article about it. While I aplaud them for the attempt at transparency, I must call you out for falling to normalcy bias. When I attended college, my professors told us that citing Wikipedia as a source would get us failed. I believe that's still the case. According to several translators I reviewed, 妖怪 does translate loosely to 'devil', 'djinn' or 'monster', as a composition of the words horrendous-being + strange/usual. In this case Wikipedia was on point.
