Hey jon, don't know if you'll ever read this, but as someone who has worked with the sort of artistic designers on things. I can almost garuntee someone was in engine with the olney hospital loaded up placing items and was experimenting with building various teddybear scenes. My guess is that hidden scene outside the map was an experiment they didn't use and forgot to delete, and I don't think its a gnome Ironing a teddybear. If you consider its a hospital, and assume the goal was to try and have the gnome holding 2 irons, it would be a teddybear being defribrillated not ironed, Hospital, shocking a teddybear. Makes sense, and its my strongest guess.

I've done similar work in college and I agree, this seems most likely. We didn't make any publishable games, but we did make several small "games" to show off various skills and that sort of thing happened all the time on group projects. I also think it's probably the same thing with the police hat. It was probably intended to be used for something more specific, but the idea got scrapped or they ran out of time after having already made the hat.

Fun fact: In the Olney Powerworks, there's a hallway Jon skipped that has laser turrets behind a door. Tucked in a nook above them are two ammo boxes that contain more alien power cells. Why are they there? Who knows? In addition, in the big collapsed building area, on one of the higher floors that are hard to get to, there is at least one Nuka Grenade, one of the only places they spawn in the entire game. Jon's right, the whole area is strange.

Fun Fact: Due to the way critical hits are calculated, when landing a critical hit, hollow points are better than AP even against armored opponents. Also theres a cut unique weapon in the tesla area, TTW restores it: A super sledge with emp damage

Replaying Fallout 3, I found it funny how all of the Enclave soldiers specifically have the exact same voice as Nick Valentine and Belethor. On the other hand, I never realised that Desdemona and the "female commander" voice type in Skyrim (Aela the Huntress, Legate Rikke) were the same person until someone specifically pointed it out.

Some of the deathclaws at Adams Air Force Base also have control headsets. They won't be hostile if you have the scrambler, which makes it much safer to release them as a distraction.

Assuming Broken Steel was one of the last things they made before Skyrim, they must have been using this as a proving ground for the fist-fight mechanics, which would explain why it's the same thing but even worse.

I think the Police Hats do make more sense in Point Lookout and even the "Why is this even here?" madness of Mothership Zeta. There is a police station on Point Lookout that you go to when doing The Velvet Curtain, and Mothership Zeta establishes with Toshiro that the aliens have been abducting humans for over 1000 years, so it's likely they abducted a cop at some point.

Someone on the dev team for broken steel really wanted to tell the story of the Gnome/Teddy war, gnomes and teddy bears are all over the base game but usually in their own little contained situations, Broken steel however seems to have a large number of set pieces of gnomes and bears interacting, and in locations that kind of suggest no human put them there.

The main one is during the final mission at Adams Airforce Base but off the top of my head I believe the Enclave deathclaw spawn outside Dukovs place and the one outside the Capitol Building both can follow you once you have the device

Jon, This series has earned ya a sub, I'm actually only on part like 7 or 8, but I came to the most recent video to let ya know I'm loving this one, and Can't wait to get to this video as well. I have learned so many little hidden quests and spots (no quest log or marked location on map) from this series and a lot about some niche characters that I never thought about more than once. Has to be one of your best series so far, I've peaked into some others, but what you're doing with this one is very special. Oxhorn does great with the vault explanations and you explain the rest of the game really, with some lovely banter here and there as well. Keep on keeping on

I think that the idea of taking 500 caps upfront is that by Broken Steel you're basically mostly done with the game, so if you're not going to continue playing it for in-game months, it's basically 200 caps or 500 caps flat

Fun fact in medieval times, when taking on knights in heavy armour they would knock them to the ground and stab them between the plates (in a larger group not 1 on 1 mind you) much like how Jon takes out the hellfire trooper.

Old Olney, great... that place... wonderful. Honestly, only the Deathclaw Sanctuary scares me more in all of Fallout. Nothing in New Vegas actually scared me. But now Jon has the Tesla Cannon coming up next. I love that cannon, I hope Jon has just as much fun with it as I do blowing up Vertibirds in one shot.

I thought the police hat was a nice addition to the game. I also don't see why it would be weird to find one since police officers are commonly found all over the place. The Zetans were abducting a lot of people and items so it makes sense to find them there was well. What everyone should really be outraged with is Fimmion in the Shivering Isles. He asks for two sweetrolls, each for a different Quest! I spent real life days looking for those blasted sweetrolls! I will never forgive Fimmion or the sweetrolls for the emotional trauma I suffer from them everyday.

Considering the scene in the basement it would make sense for a police officer to be in the hospital at that time. If there was a chinese spy and they were having a shootout this hat could just belong to a cop that wasn't on a basement level. As for Point Lookout, there's lore that indicates a serial killer and again, more chinese spies rather openly spotted in the area pre-nuke (not the same spy that with the escape room I assume). And for Mothership Zeta I think its reasonable that a police officer would have been abducted by the aliens at some point while they were working their way up the chain of command because there is that fun tidbit that leads to the aliens possibly being the entire reason the nukes went off to begin with. This is all conjecture but I think its possible that it just wasn't finished by the time the game was released but was added with DLC later.

The Deathclaw Scrambler Device isn't a one off use any enclave camp you find that has a deathclaw under there control will help you as long as you are in proximity of the short range antenna at there camp

*snrrrk* I mean, it is a very dumb fight -- I can't even argue that the bandits are TRYING to get in the way so they can get involved in the fight, because they don't even CARE that much if you do win. Though maybe they want to get involved just to do some killin'. I mean, they ARE raiders. And yes, S. Wilson building is VERY weird and I don't blame you for wishing it would be less weird. Though it's a lot more fun to see you complain about it being too weird, admittedly. :P

I think he’s referring to the chain reaction, not the perk’s basic functionality. He wants to see a chain reaction, but most times, enemies aren’t clustered close enough to take damage from the explosion, and if the were, they’d have to die to it, which isn’t likely, either.

Fun fact, due to a quirk of math you aren't doing 50% less damage without better criticals. You're doing 100% out of 150% which is about 67% of the total potential damage or only a 33% loss.
