I love how your character is able to discern one corpse's bits of viscera from another in this game. Like: *Picks up giblet, giving a deep inhale* "Ah yes, recently fried Super Mutant Brute, freshly severed from its cadaver during a micronuclear explosion a hundred metres down the road. From which, it so happens, I can extract a fully functioning minigun and some local currency." *Looks at a second, almost identical looking giblet* "And here, we have charred molerat arse. Nothing of note here unless I want some raw molerat meat."

The interesting thing I noticed during the mole rat raceway gunfight, is that the guy who fires the starting shot has that as a priority over shooting at the player. So they literally drop everything, run back to the starting position, and fire off the starting pistol. It's that dang important to them.

That's a pretty interesting lore implication, either ghouls are more zombie like than I thought and don't need or produce body heat or the radiation is able to replace the function of body heat in ghouls. During the pre-war part of Fallout 4 if you watch the TV the anchor talks about how they don’t know where the president is and the White House is running on minimal staff. Pretty sure the president was on the enclave oil rig. 😃

About the Virginia thing, in the game everything west of the river that runs through the middle of the map is in the state of Virginia. The Tailor being in Virginia could mean he's as close as Arlington or even the Citadel. Evergreen Mills seems relatively likely considering his clientele. Complete speculation, but maybe he was supposed to be in the raider bazaar there.

Jon, you actually did formally join the Brotherhood, but I understand why you are confused and don't remember it happening. It happens right before the end mission of the base game, as Liberty Prime is activating. That's why Sarah Lyons offers you Brotherhood Armor. However, it's extremely rushed and only like one or two dialogue lines and in the base game you die at the end anyways so it doesn't matter. But, with Broken Steel it does matter which is why Tristan can give you orders.

I suspect that this would have added a certain amount of complexity for not a lot of benefit; but I've always found it sort of weird how(despite possessing sophisticated sensors and the ability to check IDs; and the fact that the Presidential Metro wouldn't have been open to just anyone) there's no suggestion that any of the ghouls are senators, staffers, or maintenance and security personnel; with the computer expressing some combination of puzzlement and alarm at the number of senators refusing to cooperate despite their term limits having expired nearly two centuries ago; and the implied labor irregularities of employees who are no longer complying with instructions but haven't clocked out in two centuries.

I swear to the gods, the first time I ever found the nuked remains of the White House when I was a kid, that Glowing One was called "The President". I know in canon, IIRC, he escaped to the Oil Rig but until recently I would have sworn up and down that that ghoul had that name.

Jon. Jon, Jon. Arlington, Fairfax and Andale are just a few Fallout 3 locations that would have been in pre-war Virginia. So no need to look for the Tailor in Fallout 76's West Virginia. Germantown, Bethesda, and Chevy Chase are all places in Maryland, for what that's worth. The metro area is often referred to as the DMV, for DC, Maryland, Virginia.

At 5:47 Jon is looking right at a tableau that I've never heard anyone talk about despite watching numerous "Fallout 3 Easter Eggs" videos and I was bummed when he sailed straight past it. In this tunnel it seems someone had set up a stunt where they jump a motorcycle over a parked car, but they failed to account for the light fixture and it clearly didn't go well. I always felt like there was something more to this though (reference to something?) because there is a sound effect you can hear when you walk up to the remains, can't make out what it is but it's eerie and it gives me chills whenever I end up here. I was hoping maybe he'd finally know the story behind this one, but maybe there's nothing to know?

So the thing about "The Tailor" not showing up in 76...remember Jon, 76 takes place 25 years after the bombs fall. Fallout 3 takes place 200 years after the bombs fall. There's no way "The Tailor" would exist in 76 unless it was a robot/android/ghoul or a title passed down through generations.

I'm not entirely sold on the Virginia Tailor being a future-link or Easter egg. As someone else pointed out, Virginia & West Virginia are two separate & distinct states (albeit sharing the obvious border). Around & before Fallout 3 came out, VA had a notorious tourist-slogan, promotion thingy which was that "Virginia is for lovers". I think the sexy nightwear/lingerie macguffin may be an allusion to that(?). Cheers

Isn't Fallout 76 taking place, like almost 180 years before Fallout 3? If that's the case then there is no surprise why there are no mentions of "The Tailor" in 76 because when the events of 76 took place "The Tailor" wasn't even alive yet but this does kinda confirm that assuming "Virginia" means Appalachia then it seems that the region must be doing pretty well in 2277.

I think it's safe to say that multiple someones at Bethesda are very weird, given some of the odd stuff that happens in their Fallouts, but yes, having the second half of the Naughty Nightwear quest locked behind the FINAL MISSION of Broken Steel is -- bizarre. Hilarious, but bizarre. XD And yes, I appreciate you showing us all the car explosions and the mole rat racing. Fun stuff for the -- well, I don't know if next week IS the grand finale or not, as I don't know if doing that mission genuinely ends the game, or if you can then continue to wander and maybe do some DLC. But fun stuff for this episode at least!

I know I'm almost a year late to this realization, but the date that Margot says she was activated is exactly 200 years after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated - April 15th, 1865. Fallout 3 had a weird obsession with dates relating to American history and even hundreds - It takes place in the year 2277, 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse and 500 years after the end of the Revolutionary War.

@1:45 - The Brotherhood are quite capable of getting their people into Adams AFB to set up a resupply crate with a megagun for you, so why can't the Brotherhood assault the Enclave using the entrance they used to resupply? Why does the player have to try and sneak in through the Presidential Metro instead of using the resupply team's entrance - and assault the Enclave base on his or her own?

Regarding the random hotel room with one paladin in it: is it a silenced 10mm by his teddy bear in base Broken Steel; or is that a ToTW thing? Its utility would be pretty marginal if you are at typical Broken Steel level; but that would still change it from being a Mr. Burke unique to being a Mr. Burke-or-also-that-one-Paladin-Somebody; which seems like a point of trivia at least; given that weapons in Fallout are normally unique or ubiquitous; with 'really rare' being much less common.

West Virginia and Virginia are still 2 totally different states. The District of Columbia is completely embedded inside Virginia much like the Vatican City. I wouldn't be surprised if the point of the tailor in Virginia is to show that he is outside the barriers of the game, however, not so far that a raider named Lug-Nut couldn't reasonably walk there if he wanted to. I don't think there's anything more to it than that sadly. Even though meeting a professional lingerie maker would be rather funny.

Currently rewatching all of your Fallout 4 YOLO run and I noticed something for the first time. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but you don’t really have super mutants with energy weapons or gunners with vertibirds until after the brotherhood arrive. Is it right to assume that the mutants got their energy weapons from brotherhood soldiers they’ve defeated, and same for gunners acquiring the vertibirds they are utilizing? If this is the case that is some really great attention to detail the game makers had. If this is something obvious, sorry, I’m not up to date with all of the fallout lore 😂

Jon...... west virginia is not virginia. They are 2 separate states. They used to be 1 state but there was a falling out, and west virginia succeeded from virginia, creating 2 states.
