I’d suggest just skipping to season 1 of the settlement mode and going from there but I hope you enjoy either way.

I'm just getting into the game, but something I'm not quite getting. I cannot find like a written campaign to follow, so are supposed to just make up your own campaign and use the mechanics as a backbone for the game, or is there something out there that is an entire campaign to follow? Maybe I missed it, but the 10 or so scenarios in the main book aren't really a cohesive story.

They have made some linked campaigns that change based on who wins each battle, such as NCR against Caesar’s Legion. That’s still only like five linked quests or so (from memory). If you want a connected story that’s long term you’ve got to make your own. I eventually did that and I’m currently releasing season 4 of a long running story weekly.

Yeah you almost have to change the AI when it makes more sense. Also I've always played it the charge bonus carrys over

That makes the most sense to me too so I’ll do it that way going forward.

The Move method says that if you're within range of an objective, you perform the Objective method instead. I think it makes a lot of sense to add that to the Attack method, too. I might suggest only doing that if there isn't a target to attack within range without moving. So, the Mutant is within range of the Objective and rolls Attack. Check if it can hit a target without moving, and if so, Attack. Otherwise, do the Objective.
