At 21:15, I mistakenly use the Strength skill for the Settler's close combat attack when she would use her Perception at a -2 since she is using her rifle. Also, when using ranged weapons in Close Combat, only the weapon special effects are applied to numbered models.

I'm glad you enjoy them! I keep being surprised that game publishers don't make better tutorial videos for their games. They should hire Rodney from Watch it Played--he's my favorite online game tutor.

2 years on now, so not sure how relevant this is (but as I'm just watching this vid for first time and reading the rules myself now). I think you've misunderstood how "Battle Cry" works here. It can be used as part of a charge move action. The colour on the icon indicates how far back the opponent is pushed by the attacker if the cry is successful and not resisted. A white marker indicates that that character can resist it ONLY. You have to roll an 'opposed skill test', so the highest score, that is also a success, wins. So Big Boi charging rolls first, rolls an 8, he's passed it and Nora can't resit it full stop! However, if he'd rolled a 4 (a low success) but then Nora rolled a 5 (a higher success) she'd resist it. If they both roll 5's, he'd have won as the charger. He can then choose to throw / push her directly backwards whatever colour distance is shown on icon and may follow up for free to stay in base to base contact. If she'd won, as you stated no bonus dice, use any reactions to charge as normal, but ALSO she gains a reaction option to immediately move away, out of combat without being hit as she normally would for breaking from combat. Also, side note, but Critical Points are only acquired by Heroic models (or any with the "!" icon on their unit card or on an ability). All feedback here meant with greatest respect, as I'm trying to work through the rules myself as I write this. I bloody love this game though! As you said, it's not super streamlined but I like that personally, it reminds me of some classic skirmish games I used to play in the '90s.

Totally off topic, you mentioned you had to get another job in one of your other videos. Was that to fund your gaming hobby? Serious question because I myself find it hard to be able to separate from knowing what I don’t need to buy even though I really want to play it.
@gaminggeek2415 жыл бұрын
No, I'm not that dedicated to my gaming hobby to pick up a whole other job! It had to do with life circumstances. I think what helps is to be part of a gaming community where you take turns buying games so that your library is a joint effort. Otherwise, you do go broke!
