Thank you! I was raised Catholic and was taught all those things. I'm Christian now and feel free in knowing I can come to Jesus in privacy on my knees and confess my sins. I don't need to go to confession to a priest and I don't believe in perguatory anymore.

You're a wise lady Sally. A catholic cannot have the indwelling Holy Ghost so cannot be saved or understand the scriptures.

@@colvinator1611 Thank you for your support and kindness. It was so weird growing up and being taught about pergatory and my relatives would speak of it like it was true and you just go to this uncomfortable place for a while and get purged/purified of your sins and then you can go to heaven.

I feel very sorry for you. So confused and happy in your sins. You don’t even know enough to realize that you were always Christian, although a very poorly catechized one. The Catholic faith is the only true Christian faith. I guess you really don’t have to believe in purgatory anymore being you will probably pass right by it on your way down. Apostasy from Gods Church is a mortal sin.

@@savannahfan Christ in His times, didn't have too much followers when He wasn't crucify yet, but when He was resurrected, He started to have a lot of followers through middle east, asia and the balkans thanks to the Apostles (later on, the whole world). The only True Chruch of Christ it's Him, not any earthly chruch with no authority in heaven and earth. Whoever want to understand this, understand it. I'm not here to argue, but to say the truth which it's not mine, but of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

If a person would just read the Bible, from beginning to end, and allow the Bible to show them what the truth is, this would show the person what they need to know. But many people go by the traditions of men, having studied the Bible very little or incompletely. So that's why it's so easy for them to believe whatever they are taught.

Very true I'm ex Catholic they go by tradition most of them don't read The Bible only what the priest told you to read in the Catholic Church day he chooses a person to read. When you show a cat foot What Jesus Christ talk about Faith Repent Accept Jesus crisis saviour What he did for us on the cross . It's by grace not good works . Do is good works in The Bible but the catholics take to add a context Well what it means by good works showing evidence you are Christian not working away to heaven . Cancel church which started 34AD. When you corner a Catholic about grace In showing the day change the 10 commandments And they have extra books of The Bible that was not expired . They blame Luther They blame Luther Death is a big excuse.

St. Jerome says "Ignorance of the Scripture is ignorance of Christ.", he is the one who devoted his life to translate Hebrew/ Greek/ Aramaic Septuagint OT and NT mostly Koine Greek and some Aramaic, into Latin, thus producing Latin Vulgate (Latin Version), and also made some commentaries in Gospels. The Catholic Church existed before the 1st Gospel of Mark is ever written on 65 A.D. and the compilation of Bible (LXX from OT made of 46books and 27 books NT out of 300 books) was made official only on 367-415 . Therefore, the Church before the Bible is Compiled, is holding on Church oral Traditions, oral transmission and written apostolic letters. According to CCC120, It was by apostolic Tradition that the Church discerned which writing are to be included in the list of sacred books. Tadah! Tradition bear good fruit the Bible. What tradition did Jesus Christ critized? Twas some of the Mitzvot ( mitzvah for singular law), like cleansing rituals, Corban to avoid help to parents, Sabbath laws to manipulate others, sabbath feasts, Kashrut...etc , which becomes too legalistic and became burden to Jews, they forgot the heart of the oral and written Torah which is holiness, mercy and charity. Even St. Paul tells some of it in his epistle to the Colossians 2:16. Some Church Traditions today are often abused and goes beyond what is sound doctrine and often turned to cultic activities, heresies, schisms, worst apostate; however, the Church can easily detect it and will make apostolic letter to tell that is not the way it should be. The Church knows those abuses and she corrects it. That is only what I only know connecting Church Traditions and Bible.

1 Timothy 2:5, "There is one mediator between God and Man - the Man Christ Jesus." Purgatory, praying to Mary, Praying to Saints, calling priests, "Father", Baptizing children, not reading the Bible, selling alcohol in church, having worldly music played at Church gatherings are all bad practices that lead people to hell. I was 14 and a Christian gave us a tract that you must be born again. My Mother took it home and I read it. It quoted verses from John 3:3-7. I said, "Look at these protestants, inventing false doctrines to try and get us to go to their Church. If being born again was in the Bible, the Catholic Priests would have taught us." At 16 I bought a bible and to my amazement, John 3:3-7 was in it, and then reading, I found out that being "Born Again" was the main thrust of the new Testament! But Catholics did not know about being Born Again. Orthodox Churches also do not know about being Born Again. The older the Church, the more they are steeped in Tradition and Man Made doctrines like praying to saints. 1 Timothy 2:5, "There is one mediator between God and Man - the Man Christ Jesus."

"I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings, for all those in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus." 1Timothy 2:1-5 Jesus is the one Mediator of our salvation, our only Saviour. But He is not our only intercessor, as the whole passage above clearly indicates. So the one passage that fundamentalists have used to deny intercessionary prayer, when read in context, actually backs up intercessionary prayer. James 5: 16-18 " ...The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. Elijah was a human being like us; yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit." So we see that intercession strengthens prayer. And the more righteous and faithful the intercessor is, the more powerful the prayer. BUT THAT IS PRAYER ON EARTH. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT PEOPLE IN HEAVEN CAN NEITHER SEE US OR PRAY FOR US. That is a recent, man-made doctrine, with no authority behind it. Hebrews 12.1 speaks of "a great cloud of witnesses" who surround us, and who consist of the faithful holy ones of God. Many examples of these witnesses are given in the preceding Chapter 11 of Hebrews. Later in the Bible we see this vision of heaven: Revelation 4.4: Surrounding the throne were twenty four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. Revelation 5.8: ...and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Seeking Mary's intercession probably dates back to the earliest Christians. One of the oldest Christian prayers recorded in writing, the Sub Tuum, from the 200s AD, is a prayer to Mary: We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God. Despise not our petitions in our necessities, But deliver us from all dangers, O ever-glorious and Blessed Virgin! BUT I DON'T NEED MARY WHEN I CAN GO DIRECTLY TO GOD. Why not say "I don't need the rest of my family as long as I have my father"? The Church is a single body; the different members interelate and rely on one another: "The eye cannot say unto the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" (I Co 12:21). St. Irenaeus Against Heresies (circa 189 A.D.) : ..the virgin Eve, betrothed to a man but nevertheless still a virgin, was unhappily led astray,-- yet that deception was done away with because the Virgin Mary, betrothed to a man but nevertheless still a virgin, heard the truth spoken by an angel, and was obedient. For just as the former was led astray by the word of an angel, so that she fled from God when she had transgressed His word; so did the latter, by an angelic communication receive the glad tidings that she should sustain (portaret) God, being obedient to His word. The former disobeyed God, yet the latter was persuaded to be obedient to God, so that the Virgin Mary might become patroness (advocata) of the virgin Eve. And thus, as the human race fell into bondage to death by means of a virgin, so is it rescued by a virgin; virginal disobedience having been balanced in the opposite scale by virginal obedience. In the same way the sin of the first created man (protoplasti) is made amends by the correction of the First-begotten, the coming of the serpent is conquered by the harmlessness of the dove, those bonds being unloosed by which we had been fast bound to death.😆😆

@@bibleman8010 The Catholics took the second commandment to not make any graven image of things in heaven, earth or hell and removed it from the 10 commandments. They then took the commandment to not covet your neighbors wife nor possessions and broke it up into 2 to make 10 commandments; "Thou shalt not commit Adultery" and ""Thou shalt not steal". Praying to Mary and Saints, you risk going to Hell. I Corinthians 6:9 says so. Idolatry is a sin that takes you to hell. I am not against Intercessory prayer, I am against fanaticism. It is the prayer of FAITH in James 5:15 that heals the sick, and it is DOUBT that prevents God from healing in Mark 5:5-6. There are different kinds of prayer in the New Testament (Matthew 18:18-20, Ephesians 6:18) and repetitive prayer is the only one that Jesus mentioned is vain, but that is the only one that 98% of believers know. Why not pray Ephesians 1:16-23 and Ephesians 3:14-21 instead of man-made vain prayers? Matthew 6:7 says not to use vain repetitions. A Catholic neighbor told me that in 71 years of being a Catholic, she had never seen a miracle. My Aunt said that she prayed to Mary for 60 years and where did it get her? With tears in her eyes she said 22 operations and now she does not believe in God. Crying, she said, "I had my first operation at age 21." My Mother prayed to the father in the name of Jesus according to John 16:23 and had zero operations. She was miraculously healed in 1977 and 2016. I am convinced that Praying to Mary is praying to the devil. 2 Corinthians says that Satan transforms himself like an angel of Light. Several Mexican me told me that they DO NOT believe in Jesus, that they believe in the VIrgin of Guadalupe, that SHE appeared to the Poor and that SHE loves the poor. That is fanaticism for sure. You must believe the Bible, not Philosophy to receive When Churches beg God over and over again (which does not work because in Matthew 6:7 Jesus said not to use vain repetitions), they fall back onto philosophy to explain why God does not heal. Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopal, Nazarene, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Orthodox teach the following: I used to believe: 1. God is Sovereign. 2. God is all powerful 3. God is in control 4. God can do whatever he wants 5. God has a purpose, a plan and a time for everything, 6. God knows what you are suffering 7. God will heal you in his time. This is HOPE, not FAITH. You are hoping in God 7 times. Jesus said all things were possible to him who believes, not him who hopes (Mark 9:23). Mark 11:24 says in the original to believe you ALREADY received. And Matthew 6:7 says the repetitions are vain. The received has an epsilon in front of it which means it is past tense. Most translations translate it to present or future, but this is a gross mistake. In Mark 6:5-6 Jesus WANTED to heal the blind, deaf, paralyzed but COULD'T because of their unbelief. James 1:6-7 says not to think that you will receive if you doubt. Jesus never said, 1. Go to the doctor 2. What did the doctor say? 3. It is not God's will to heal you 4. Wait 5. God has a purpose in this sickness. 6. God know's what you are suffering. 7. God has a purpose and a plan and a time for everything. 8. In His time, God will heal you. 9. You don't have faith but I will heal you anyway. 10. God knows what He is doing. 11. You cannot lose your healing. 12. God will give you faith if He wants you to be healed. 13. God doesn't heal today. 14. Only I and the Apostles can heal. 15. Cannot say that sickness is of the Devil. 16. Can't tell people they don't have faith. 17. Your healing will be instant. 18. God can do whatever He wants. 19. What did the Doctor prescribe? 20. Sickness will make you stronger. 21. You will learn through this sickness. My Aunt said that she prayed to Mary for 60 years and where did it get her? With tears in her eyes she said 22 operations and now she does not believe in God. Crying, she said, "I had my first operation at age 21." In the Original Greek in Mark 11:24, Jesus commands His apostles to believe that they already received when they pray. In 2016, six specialists told my mother that she needed a pacemaker. She was so weak that she could only walk 20 feet in 10 minutes, and then had to sit down and rest. I shared Mark 11:24 with my mother. We prayed in the name of Jesus and then my mother praised God that she was already healed. The next day she walked a mile to go get her groceries, completely normal. She never did need a pacemaker. Just days before, she was so weak that she was hospitalized for 10 days. My neighbor was sent home to die because he was so low on the list for a kidney transplant. He was bedridden. The doctors told the wife that in 2 to 3 days he would be dead. We prayed the same way and he rose up completely normal the next day. He stood out in the front yard and stopped all the neighbors and told them what happened. I could go on and on for hours telling you about several neighbors and several relatives that received this way. God confirms His Word with signs (Mark 16:20), the problem is that too many are using vain repetitions which Jesus said were vain in Matthew 6:7. Also it is the prayer of FAITH that heals the sick in James 5:15, not just prayer. Faith is based on the Bible. Since 99% of Churches do NOT teach on healing, 99% of Churches cannot pray the prayer of Faith to receive healing. Look up James 5:15, it is the prayer of FAITH that heals, not the prayer of repetition. In Matthew 9:2, it was THEIR faith, in Matthew 9:22, it was HER faith, and in Matthew 9:29, it was THEIR faith that caused them to receive. That 3 times in only 1 chapter. In Acts 14:7-10 it was the mans faith that healed him, not Paul's faith. My mother sang in Church in Greek prior to coming to the US. I took 2 years of Greek at my Catholic University just so that I could prove the difference between Hoping and Believing. I even told my Greek professor and read to her Mark 11:24 in the original. She and a Greek man in Church and 2 other Greek's from work told me that I am correct in my interpretation. You must believe that you already received prior to receiving. You must believe the Bible, not Philosophy to receive.

Of all the religions, God has favoured Catholic Christianity, more than all others, with His presence and manifestations in the past 2,000 years. Catholics have been favoured with Eucharistic Miracles- like the 1996 Eucharistic Miracle of Buenos Aires, Argentina & in Lanciano, Italy in the 8th C In Acts 2:27 - we read - For God will not allow His Holy one to undergo corruption. Likewise, God has clothed with incorruptibility the corpses of Catholic saints who have led a holy life in conformity with Jesus. The 500 year incorrupt corpse of St. Francis Xavier, which resides in Goa, India, is one example. Fr. Albert Hebert has compiled a list of over 400 resurrections of people who died but were raised to life by many Catholic saints. His book - Raised from the Dead - is available in book-stores. Jesus, our Living God, has appeared to many saints. In the 14th C, Jesus appeared to St. Bridget of Sweden who was much desirous of knowing about his agony He endured on the Way to Calvary - in other words, His Passion & Death. For a whole year Jesus taught her 15 Prayers and attached Promises to anyone who repeats these Prayers continuously for a year - the 1st Promise being - Jesus will deliver 15 souls of his/her lineage from Purgatory. ( Note - you can check the Internet under - The 15 Prayers of St. Bridget - and also view the Promises. ) And in the 1930's, not yet a hundred years ago, Jesus appeared to a Polish Nun, Sr. Faustina, and taught her the following prayer - Eternal Father, I offer you the Body & Blood, Soul & Divinity of your dearly Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world. - This is in line with The Lord's Prayer which is pluralistic with the words - Our, Us, We, etc. And in 1995, Jesus appeared to a Nigerian named Barnabas and gave him the Devotion to His Precious Blood - ( continued )

Protestantism is not so much a Religion as a Religious Philosophy. It is a belief in Christ, to be sure, but then it remains a hearer and not doer of The Word, thus deceiving themselves - James 1:22. There is no substance or forms of worship and thanksgiving to Jesus God and Saviour for His work of Creation and Redemption. Catholics, on the other hand, believe in the Real - John 6:53-58 - Presence of Jesus in Holy Communion -Eucharist which is the Greek word for Thanksgiving. The Mass is truly both a form of Worship and Thanksgiving. Other forms include Eucharistic Adorations, Benedictions, Eucharistic Processions, etc. Protestantism does not take account that the same Jesus issued Commandments - not suggestions - for which there are penalties for non-compliance. It ignores that God - tests - each and every person with consequences in not fulfilling these tests or running away like Jonah It bypasses that humans are still under the influence of our Fallen Natures whereby we sin - even mortally - 1John 5:16-17 - and do works of the flesh that would disqualify us from Heaven - Galatians 5:19-21. On the way to Calvary, Jesus cautioned the women of Jerusalem - Luke 23:28-31 - to weep for themselves and their children for forthcoming days of great sorrow. As God, Jesus foreknew the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD, which was not only the result of the Jews not acknowledging the time of the Visitation of their Messiah, Jesus, but also because of their sins, especially of their hypocritical leaders - the Scribes, Chief Priests and Pharisees Thus for Protestants to believe that - all - sins are eternally forgiven and covered by the precious Blood of Jesus is false. Other examples that God still hates sin was the "execution" of Ananias and Sapphira for dishonesty and lying- Acts 5. And Jesus' threatened spewing out and vomiting of the lukewarm Laodicean church - Rev 3 John 21:25 states that Jesus did many other things which the written word is incapable of recording. As a result 2 traditions ensued - oral and written - 2 Thess. 2:15 - which are of equal merit. By "Sola Scriptura" Protestants are only receiving part of Divine Truth thus resulting in so many denominations. The Catholic Church was founded on Peter's rock-solid declaration of Jesus' Divinity - Matt. 16:16 and Jesus' promise - Matt 16:17-19- and holds to both traditions. It is the Church of the Living God and the Pillar and Bulwark of Truth - 1 Timothy 3:15 Many Catholic churches have side chapels, some even open 24/7, whereby the Holy Eucharist is exposed for veneration/worship. They are open to the public - even non-Catholics. I really hope that you will make use of these to worship and adore our Living God. God IS Living and has manifested His Presence through many Eucharistic Miracles - check the Internet for details of the 1996 miracle in Buenos Aires and the 8th Century one in Lanciano, Italy.

All the other apostles went to the jews. Slightly different gospel , the gospel of grace not works is what paul preached. The gospel of the kingdom is what the other apostles preached to the jews. Gospel of the kingdom plus judaism is what the catholic church is all about. Works alone ,if you do enough might get you to heaven. @Turin21 *You are wrong once again. Mat 16 never once said R Church inherited any authority of Peter. Not once. So where is your proof that it did happen? By empty claims?* *This is merely R Church's self claim. Not true in history and Scriptures.* you said But regardless Christ said (it's in the bible if you read it) "thou art Peter and upon this rock I ill build MY CHURCH" not churches! Jesus NEVER could have intended multiple "churches many with vastly different beliefs. Just think about it for a second. No matter how many foolish theories you have you can't get away from that verse. The bible can't contradict itself so you have to reconcile the whole bible and that's the Catholic teaching. The " church" you should join is JESUS' CHURCH. In the Bible church is the group of believers who follow & submit to Jesus as Lord, and as HE taught & approved in God's Word THE BIBLE. Look for a group of people who focus on God's Word every week & put Jesus'2 commandments ( LOVE THE LORD & YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF). Nothing else is mandatory, just God and His Word. (80% of Catholic teachings are outside the Bible & manmade, & 80% of Catholic salvation is human works & unbiblical beliefs). Choose manmade apostasy or TRUTH.

For the person that said which church you should leave, you should leave for a nondenominational church. Where did all these denominations come from? Anyway Jesus was not a denomination. He was a Christian or he was the head leader as what a Christian should be rather I should say. So anyone who follows the life of Jesus is a Christian is a simple gospel that we are saved by grace and Grace alone. God is three distinct personalities God, if we believe in the intangibles and the certain of the gospel, we are saved. Human beings have desire to want to create a religion, which is their way to finding God rather than the God that is, which is truth.

 @Turin21 *Bible teaches repentance. Not Penance:* 1. Repentance - change of heart. Not Penance - work to atone for sins or pay for sins. 2. Confess to God. 1 John 1:9. Not confess to R ct priest for absolving of sins. *Find me a verse that says penance in nt? You cant.* Mat 3:2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Mat 3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Mat 9:13 But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE MERCY AND NOT SACRIFICE.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Mat 11:20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: Mat 11:21 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Mat 12:41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. Mar 1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Mar 1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Mar 2:17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Mar 6:12 So they went out and preached that people should repent. Luk 3:3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, Luk 3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. Luk 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Luk 10:13 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. Luk 11:32 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. Luk 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luk 13:5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." Luk 15:7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luk 15:10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luk 16:30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' Luk 17:3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luk 17:4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him." Luk 24:47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Act 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Act 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Act 5:31 Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. Act 8:22 Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. Act 11:18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life." Act 13:24 after John had first preached, before His coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. Act 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, Act 19:4 Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." Act 20:21 testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Act 26:20 but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. Rom 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 2Co 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. You would not have the Bible today if it weren’t for the Catholic Church. Do your research first. Also without the magesterium you could come up with a gazillion different ways to interpret the Bible resulting in a gazillion different denominations. So if the Bible is filtered through each individual experience so in essence if there is no magesterium then there is no truth in the Bible resulting in relativism. Which is a heresy plain and simple.

 @Turin21 *Then how come 95% of R Church doctrines did not come from Scriptures or contradict Scriptures? Pls explain that. *95% of Rc doctrines are unheard of in 1st century and not from traditions of Jesus and Apostles or Scriptures or contradicts Scriptures! Nt Church of the Bible had not heard or practised any of these Rc doctrines.* 1. Purgatory 2. Confessing to priests 3. Office of pope or priests4. Pope being the vicar (representation of Christ, usurping the authority of God)5. Praying to Mary, saints6. Penance 7. Worshipping idols/images, placing idols images in church8. Church in the Bible is not building, but the body of believers9. Sacrament was never the real body and blood of Christ as RC church claimed (Real meaning real blood and body, bcos it didnt really turned "bloody" did it?)10. Salvation by (works (7sacraments) +faith) was never in the Bible. Real salvation is by grace through faith as seen in Bible. 11. Rosary, set repetitive prayers, hail Mary 10000 times12. Mass - putting Christ on the altar again and again13. Mary as queen of heaven 14. Mary as Ark of the new covenant. 15. Mary as the mother of heavenly Jesus thus Mary exist before Christ16. Immersion of infant for baptism17. Holy water18. Celibacy of priests (no office of priests in NT anyway, only priesthood of all believers)19. Kissing of statues20. Changing of 10 commandments. COmmandment of graven image removed by Catholic CHurch in Catholic Catechism. Splitting of another commandment into 2 commandments. 21. Catholic church changed Bible verse Gen 3:15 (And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."). 'He' and 'His' referring to Christ. Catholics changed it to (Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; She shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise Her heel.") 'She' and 'Her' refers to Mary. 22. Catholic Church use Rev 12 to refer to Mary as 'queen of heaven', when Rev 12:6 clearly refers to Israel escaping the Great Tribulation. Mary cannot be alive to escape the Great Tribulation. 23. Catholic Church refers to Mary as 'Queen of heaven', but 'Queen of Mary' in the Bible is a demonic entity Astoreth or Ishtar, the female deity partner of Baal. 5 verses in Jeremiah as proof.24. Catholic church refers to Mary as the Mediatress, Co redemptress, helper of Christ, firstborn of all creation .. Mary cannot be the mediatress. Jesus is the one and only Mediator between God and man. Only Jesus redeems. Only the Holy Spirit is the Helper sent by Jesus. Only Jesus is the firstborn of all creation. 25. Roman Catholicism has “saints” one can pray to in order to gain a particular blessing. For example, Saint Gianna Beretta Molla is the patron saint of fertility. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals. There are multiple patron saints of healing and comfort. Nowhere is even a hint of this taught in Scripture. Just as the Roman pantheon of gods had a god of love, a god of peace, a god of war, a god of strength, a god of wisdom, etc., so the Catholic Church has a saint who is “in charge” over each of these and many other categories. Many Roman cities had a god specific to the city, and the Catholic Church provided “patron saints” for cities as well.26. Mary is called the gate of heaven? Mary has keys to paradise? Here are roman pagan teachers saying their man made goddess is their savior. None of these quotes have been denounced, on the contrary they are cited. "Open to us, O Mary, the gate of Paradise, since you have its keys! " St. Ambrose "God has entrusted the keys and treasures of Heaven to Mary." St. Thomas Aquinas "No one can enter into Heaven except through Mary, as entering through a gate. " St. Bonaventure "Mary is called "The Gate of Heaven" because no one can enter Heaven but through her means." St. Alphonsus Maria Liguori Papal infallibility Immaculate Mary Assumption of Mary Perpetual Virgin Mary as Mother of God, co mediatrix, co redemptrix, new ark of covenant, Pope as vicar, Holy Water, papacy, peter as first pope, papal succession, apostolic succession, indulgences, 7 sacraments, rosary veneration of saints and statues celibacy of priesthood canonization of saints limbo you said The bible can't contradict itself

In his Revelation the Apostle John wrote; " And I saw the woman dressed in purple and scarlet, she was sitting on the beast, holding a golden cup, drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. On her forehead were written blaspheme words..." ( Revelation 17:6). Also, the Apostle Paul wrote; " But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse..." Stephen, a deacon in Jerusalem, was the first saint in Christ Jesus, who was martyred, condemned and stoned to death by religious Jewish ✡ pharisees, saducees and scribes...( Acts of the Apostle 7:8). Also, we should add the inquisitions which claimed the life of 50 million peoples and believers in Christ under Pope Innocent III ( 1198-1216), then under Pope Gregory IX (1233). Also to add to the blood of the saints the so called " Crusades " which claimed the life of at least two to six million peoples, under Pope Urban II, on November 27, 1095.

DO NOT WORSHIP THE IDOL Mary was highly favored by God and chosen as a human vessel for the fulfillment of God plan of Salvation for All. The virgin Mary was never intended as a human, to become a mediator between humans and God. ( Leviticus 26:1); ( Exodus 20:2-6); ( John 4:24). " There is only One God and One Mediator who can reconcile God the Father and humanity - the man Christ Jesus..." ( 1 Timothy 2:5); ( Luke 1:26-38); (Romans 8:26-27); ( Exodus 20:4-5); ( Matthew 12:46-50). Jesus replied; " The Scripture say, you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him..." (Luke 4:8); ( Luke 1:46-56); ( Luke 11:27-28). Also, please read Psalm 51:5 + Psalm 148:13 + Acts 4:12 +

I am a life-long protestant with a better than average grasp of hermeneutics. I am also on the cusp of converting to Roman Catholicism, so I was interested in this title because I thought it might give me pause. I was thoroughly disappointed. Frankly, besides the young preacher's snarky comments, his hermeneutics are so bad that I'm stunned that the church has posted this for all to see. For the good of your church's reputation, I recommend you take it down. Two simple examples: First, the speaker clearly did not have a grasp of why the Apostle Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians. He said (~3:45 ff.) , "Galatians was written by the Apostle Paul to Christians that had had been saved out of Judaism. In this book, Paul warns them not to revert back to Judaism." Wrong. That was the book of Hebrews. The church in Galatia (a region, not a city) was comprised primarily of gentiles. Paul wrote to them because they were being deceived by false teachers who told them that, in order to be truly Christian, they had to follow Jewish ceremonial laws, with the most critical being circumcision. Paul's tirade against circumcision in the letter makes no sense if he was writing to a church full of Jewish converts to Christianity who had all been circumcised as infants. Second, the speaker's use of 1 Thess 2:13 as a proof text against the authority of sacred tradition (~37:56 ff.) is a horrible twist of Scripture and context. In context, this letter is the first communication that the Apostle Paul has had with the church in Thessaloniki since he was there teaching face-to-face. The Apostle's words seem very straight-forward - the Thessalonians heard the word that Paul preached to them (verbally - "...that you received the word of God you HEARD from us..."). What did Paul extol them for? For hearing his teaching and believing it. That is the essence of what the Catholic (and Orthodox) Church means when they talk of sacred tradition - what the Apostles taught in their years and years of ministry that could not possibly be contained in Scripture. Paul spent about three years ministering in Ephesus. He spent about eighteen months in Corinth. Is it reasonable that those churches flushed everything Paul taught them over those years after they heard he had been martyred? If the great Apostle had taught you for three years but only sent one short letter after his departure, would you forget everything he taught by word of mouth and only cling to what was written in the letter? 1 Thess 2:13 is a much better proof text for the validity of sacred tradition than against it. Well-meaning men are resorting to hermeneutic gymnastics like these in order to try to justify Sola Scriptura. Not only is it unbecoming, but it is disingenuous. Multiple times in the presentation the speaker cited a verse and then said, "We believe that means..." That is not authoritative at all! When Sola Scriptura proponents say, "The Bible is my final authority," what they are really saying is that their preferred interpretation of Scripture is what they hold to as authoritative. "The Bible" cannot exercise authority. Some human person or institution must interpret Scripture and put some authority behind it. Acts 2:38 and 1 Pet 3:21 both certainly sound like baptism is salvific, but I'm sure you would say that baptism is not necessary for salvation. Before the Swiss reformer Zwinglgi, no one of any import had ever taught anything other than the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist (bread & wine of the Lord's table). Now I'm sure that your church teaches that, "Take, eat, this is my body that is broken for you," doesn't really mean that the bread somehow becomes Christ's body, though that is what all Christians believed for 1500 years. Different protestant churches who wholly agree on Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide cannot agree on the meaning and mode of baptism or the meaning mode of the Lord's Supper, the only two sacraments most protestants retain. If protestant churches, who all claim that Scripture is totally sufficient and perspicacious, cannot agree as to what the Bible teaches about these two things, what does sufficiency even mean? A real conversation is invited. Snarky comments will be ignored.

Why would you want to convert to catholicism? It has a weakling Jesus who cannot completely save anyone. That's why it has a purgatory belief. The Catholic Church does NOT believe that Jesus' Sacrifice and shed blood on the Cross complete cleanses a believing sinner of all their sins. In other words the Catholic Church does not believe the true gospel. You should instead attend a Bible Church where the true gospel is preached that Jesus Christ is strong and mighty to save!

@@salvation4all313 I’m 54 years old and have attended strong evangelical churches since I was 10. I met my wife through an evangelical fellowship in college. We raised our kids as evangelical Protestants, teaching them the five Solas as unquestionable truth. Why would I want to convert? Because that is where Christ is. I find more grace, mercy, and love in Catholic theology than I ever found in the Protestant world. All Protestant theology starts with a framework - five Solas, predestination, free will, etc. - and then has to mutilate Scriptural context and obvious clarity to get the Bible to agree with its preconceived notion of what the passage “has” to mean according to the given framework. The primary - almost universal- Protestant framework is Penal Substitutionary Atonement (PSA), the concept that Christ took our punishment on the cross and imputes his perfect righteousness to us. If that is true, why didn’t our Lord ever teach that about himself in the Gospels? In the parable of the Prodigal Son, the father freely forgives the son who has disrespected his father, lived a life of open rebellion and sin, and squandered his inheritance. If our Lord were intending to teach PSA, it would make sense for the story to include the older son exchanging himself for his brother. That doesn’t happen. The father simply forgives the repentant son who freely submits himself, once again, to the father’s authority. And what do you do with passages such as Luke 5:17-26 & 7:36-50 in which the Lord declares sins forgiven by people who, apparently, didn’t even ask for it? In the story of the paralytic (Lk 5:17-26) it appears that Jesus saw the faith of the friends - by their actions - and then declared the paralyzed man forgiven. I’ve spent two full years wrestling with these theological questions. Have you ever changed your mind when someone talked to you like you were an idiot? If you really want to persuade me, talk to me like I am a rational human being and try to understand my perspective first.

@@wjtruax The story of the prodigal son included these very important verses which you didn't mention: “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate." (Luke 15:21-23) So you see a fattened calf is prepared, and a party is held (notice that blood was shed = atonement for sin, Hebrews 9:22). Fatted calves in those times were saved for special occasions such as the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:26-32)
@wjtruax
@wjtruax 2 жыл бұрын
@@salvation4all313 Thank you for your reply. However, I could not disagree more with your conclusion. The fattened calf was killed in celebration, not in atonement. No one payed the father back for the money the son wasted or the pain he caused the father. There is no indication, at all, that the father would not have accepted the son if the calf hadn't been killed. Again, if the older son had taken the younger son's place, that would be a clear indication of substitutionary atonement. But that clearly did not happen. If the father had said to the older son, "Son, I'm sorry, but there is now only enough money for one son. I am choosing your brother over you. I'm sending you away," that would equate to the scapegoat being sent out of the camp. I reiterate, not once did our Lord, in any of his parables, indicate anything that even approximates penal substitutionary atonement. Christ died on the eve of Passover as the Lamb of God. Please go back and read the account of the first Passover in Exodus. The spotless lamb was killed and eaten ("Take, eat, this is my body, broken for you...Take, drink, this is my blood shed for you") and its blood spread on the doorframe as a sign of obedience to God and identity with His people. The Passover lamb was a sign of ransom from captivity, not of atonement for sin. Sacrifices for sin would not come until later. But even then, how many times did the God tell the Israelites that He was tired of their sacrifices and desired them, instead, to soften their hearts, obey, and love Him?

Brother, you claim that the Holy Spirit will guide the "spiritual man" to all truth. Since the non-Catholic "spiritual men" cannot agree on the understanding of the scriptures, then which "spiritual man" knows the absolute, doctrinal truth? In Catholic teaching, scripture is not relegated to the background but stands as one of the three pillars of our faith, along with Holy Tradition and the Magisterium. The Church in no way has nullified sacred scripture, as the scriptures are from God and must be believed. Where did you get the idea that the Catholic Church teaches that "John's gospel and not the whole bible is sufficient"? The Church has never taught this as all scripture is from God and must be believed. Brother, if you are going to tell people what Catholics believe, at least get it right! Paul spoke of two traditions that should be observed: the written tradition, which is the scriptures and the oral traditions, but yet you only recognize the written tradition. Why don't you observe the oral tradition? The tradition of the Church are that of the apostles and did not come after the apostles. Your idea of apostolic succession is somewhat lacking. It does not mean that there are still apostles but only that their authority has been passed on to their successors in the same way that Mathias received this authority in Acts 1 by succeeding Judas' see. Those things that you listed that you claim are in direct opposition to the scriptures is a false statement as we can find them in the bible. I agree that God is not the author of confusion but yet there are thousands of sola scriptura churches that teach differing doctrine. So which of these 'bible alone' churches teach the absolute, apostolic doctrinal truth?

@@margaretlobo9466 The Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone - of Protestantism is not in the Bible. You are correct there is no verse that says scripture only , however we do see that the majority of doctrines are either stated or by example. The example set by Jesus and the apostles was to quote scripture as proof. 3 Proofs First - In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we read that Scripture is given to equip us for - Every - Good Work 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. So what part of thoroughly means you need more? Second - Matt. 7. [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. What is the Father's will ?? Matthew chapter 6 states that the Father who sees in secret will - reward - Prayers, Fasting, Almsgiving and Good Works. Obviously, the Father rewards us for carrying out His will in the above actions which shows our Love for God and Neighbour, as Jesus commanded - not suggested. Here - Love - is a verb or action word. This last statement has absolutely nothing to do with scripture alone being not good enough! Third - Because we are responsible for all sins after Baptism, Jesus on the very day of His Resurrection from the dead, breathed His Spirit and - empowered - all the Apostles to forgive - or retain - Sins - John 20:22-23. This breathing was the same as the Breath that gave the life-force to the earth-created Adam - Genesis 2:7. Yes ,we are responsible to confess our sins as believers , but we confess those sins to the one who will cleanse us of ALL unrighteousness not to someone standing in for Christ who has no power to forgive sins . 1 John 1:9 God in his justice uses “the blood of Jesus his Son [to cleanse] us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Sin does not go unpunished. God’s Son took the punishment for us. That is the only way this forgiveness, this cleansing, is just. The debt has been paid. Not only do we get to bring the pain of our sin to God, but we get to bring our sinned-against pain to God. He leaves no debt unpaid. He not only provides forgiveness to each and every one of us, but he provides the grace for us to forgive one another. Therefore Catholics confess to their Priests, as Apostles don't live forever. Confession thus restores the Life-Force to souls deadened by sin, especially Deadly ( Mortal ) sins - This is where the truth gets blurred as Jesus died for ALL of your sins and if you read Eph 2:1-8 you will see that being born again which is a must have, just like repentance , that God has placed your spirit ( born again part of you ) with Jesus in the heavenly realm with Jesus . Your spirit does not and is not capable of sin. Your flesh is what we live in and is gradually changed by the renewing of our minds by the Holy Spirit who not only seals us to the day of redemption but carries on His renewing of your flesh till the day you pass on. Amazingly enough there is no verse that even hints that you can lose your God given gift of salvation , or that the Holy Spirit will remove His seal upon the believer for any reason or that God will remove your spirit from the heavenly realm with Jesus for any sin. Why ?because when we repent Jesus forgives ALL of our sins past, present, and future . This is not what you have been taught . You have been taught to listen to the roman Catholic church and lean not to personal interpretation as found in 2 Peter 1:20 but read the context and you find that verse 20 is with ,not separate from, verse 21 which explains what is being talked about. James 5:16-17. Protestants don't confess and thereby retain their sins. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Therefore confess your sins one to another for Forgiveness? No it clearly says you and I are to confess our sins to each other for healing not forgiveness of sins. It also claims that the righteous mans prayer is powerful and effective . When we become believers and confess our sins to God 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” So if we are cleansed from ALL unrighteousness what are we left with? That's right we now have the righteousness of Christ and can pray effectively. And because we still retain our Fallen Natures, Jesus has given us His Flesh to eat and Blood to drink as - Real Food and Drink - for Eternal Life - John 6:53-58. Yes this sounds good but the Passover meal that Jesus had on the last night of His life where He said do this in remembrance of Me , did not have a single glass of wine but four of them, and the host otherwise known as Matzo was a special wafer not a cracker. Matzah or matzo is an unleavened flatbread that is part of Jewish cuisine and forms an integral element of the Passover festival So take another look at 1 Corinthians 11 ;20-27 and you see why there is an admonition in verse 27 . Context makes this verse 27 clear . (Ephesians 2:10) For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2:9 tells us that nothing we do is good enough and verse 10 tells us that we were created to do the work of God. Not one verse in Ephecians tells us to work for salvation but several verses telling us that it is by grace and God's gift . Works has nothing to do with salvation. And James declared - Faith without works is dead -James 2:26). Lets have a look at James 1:1 who is James addressing? Hmmmn not the gentiles . James is telling the Jews that they have faith in God but that faith will not save the, ? Why ? Because the Jews had faith in God but did not accept Jesus as their messiah. Jesus addresses the Jews and tells them clearly John 6:27 Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.” 28T hen they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” 29 Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”… It is so much easier to grab a verse out of context and show all what you think it means By "Sola Scriptura" Protestants are only receiving part of Divine Truth. Catholics, on the other hand, hold the whole truth When you are taught the word but not the meaning you can come to the conclusion so many people make about scripture only. Sola Scriptura is saying that The New Testament is the Life and Teachings of Jesus and the original Apostles and the First Churches.. Sola Scriptura just points to THEM not just the Holy Spirit inspired Words, but the Holy Spirit inspired Authors/leaders and their Proven Authority as the true source to prove or test or Disprove future so called 'leaders' or future claims and teachings. Sola Scriptura means going all the way back directly to Jesus, John, Paul, James, Peter, Mark, Luke, Matthew, Moses, David, etc.. and going back to Their Lives, and Their preserved written teachings and traditions. Sola scriptura skips the questionable 'middle-men'.... thousands of years of Post New Testament groups and so called 'leaders' and takes you back to the first Source Leaders that were confirmed and are not questionable. This is the best way. Skip Luther and Skip the Vatican and just Learn the Truth Directly from Moses, David, Jesus, John, Paul, James, Peter, Etc... Please read the whole New Testament... you will find no popes, no cathedrals, no Statues, no Marian dogmas, no prayers to dead saints, No Vatican, No wafers, No fancy Robes, No Christian thrones. Please Follow Jesus and Him Alone. Since the Bible doesn't contradict itself, any interpretation of a specific passage that contradicts the general teaching of the Bible is to be rejected. Just remember that we ,you and I , have been told by someone else what the other believes and does. example -Denominational believers sit around in coffee shops swilling coffee and depend on a dead faith that does nothing for anyone ? Spiritual pride says we are better than them! John 14:6 excludes anyone other than Jesus! Thanks for your reply and be blessed by our savior Jesus.

Alphonsus Maria Liguori Papal infallibility Immaculate Mary Assumption of Mary Perpetual Virgin Mary as Mother of God, co mediatrix, co redemptrix, new ark of covenant, Pope as vicar, Holy Water, papacy, peter as first pope, papal succession, apostolic succession, indulgences, 7 sacraments, rosary veneration of saints and statues celibacy of priesthood canonization of saints limbo you said What was the reason? @Michael *Bible does not say its atonement. Jesus merely asked Z to make restitution. Not atonement for sins. No man can atone for sins except Jesus.* *Z did not get Salvation because of restitution. He got salvation because he truly believed in Jesus.* Exo 22:3 If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. Exo 22:5 "If a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed, and lets loose his animal, and it feeds in another man's field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard. Exo 22:6 "If fire breaks out and catches in thorns, so that stacked grain, standing grain, or the field is consumed, he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution. Exo 22:12 But if, in fact, it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to the owner of it. He shall make restitution for his trespass in full, plus one-fifth of it, and give it to the one he has wronged. Num 5:8 But if the man has no relative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution for the wrong must go to the LORD for the priest, in addition to the ram of the atonement with which atonement is made for him. you said ........The Mosaic Law forbade stealing, but Zaccheus had no problem stealing; however it was in the presence of Jesus that he made atonement and got SALVATION.

➔ All of the following things that Protestants attack can be found in the Bible: Holy images are BIBLICAL and are not "Idols" .... ➔CARVED IMAGES IN THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD, INTERCESSION OF MARY AND THE SAINTS, HONOURING MARY, AND BOWING AS A SIGN OF HONOUR AND RESPECT (All copied from the protestant version of the bible by Cynthia X) Sacred Images are Biblical & mocking & destroying them is a serious sin, an act of blasphemy: ➨ SACRED IMAGES: Sacred images are not idols and it is an act of blasphemy to attack them: ● EXODUS 25:18-22 God commands Moses to make STATUES of Angels. ● NUMBERS 21:8-9 God commands another image to be made, a serpent. ● EZEKIEL 41:18-25 KJV ➔ EZEKIEL's VISION OF THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD ADORNED WITH CARVED IMAGES: ... 18 And it was made with CHERUBIMS (ANGELS) and PALM TREES, so that a palm tree was between a CHERUB and EVERY CHERUB HAD TWO FACES; 19 So that the FACE OF A MAN was toward the PALM TREE on the one side, and the FACE OF A LION toward the PALM TREE on the other side: it was made through all the house round about. 20 From the ground unto above the door were CHERUBIMS (ANGELS) and PALM TREES made, and on the wall of the temple. 21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other. 22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the Lord. 23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors. 24 And the doors had two LEAVES apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door. 25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, CHERUBIMS and PALM TREES, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without. ➨ BOWING as a sign of honour / respect: ●1 KINGS 2:19 Solomon bows to his Mother. (he HONOURS Her) ● JOSHUA 7:6: 6 Joshua & the elders of Israel tore their clothing and lay prostrate (face down on the ground) before the Ark of the Lord. (an OBJECT) ➨ INTERCESSION OF MARY & THE SAINTS IN THE BIBLE ...INCLUDING BIBLICAL PROOF that SAINTS ARE NOT AMONG THE DEAD: The Protestant claim that we are forbidden to speak to / pray to Mary and the saints is NOWHERE in the Bible. In fact, the following scriptures were copied (by me) directly from the Protestant version of the Bible: ... ➨INTERCESSION of a holy person on our behalf: ● JOB 42:8 8 Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams, and GO TO MY SERVANT JOB, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and MY SERVANT Job SHALL PRAY FOR YOU, FOR I WILL ACCEPT HIS PRAYER NOT TO DEAL WITH YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR FOLLY; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. ➨INTERCESSION of MARY: JOHN 2:1 At the wedding feast at Cana, it was Mary who asked Jesus to help the wedding party. ➨INTERCESSION OF THE SAINTS: REV 5:8 The prayers of the Saints are offered to Jesus the lamb. ➨The KING Honours his mother's request: ● 1 KINGS 2:20: Then she said, “I have one small request to make of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her, “Make your request, my mother, for I will not refuse you.” (Jesus is the Greatest King and he also honours his mother's requests) SAINTS ALSO WORKED MIRACLES: ➨ JOHN 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. ➨ PAUL RAISES A MAN FROM THE DEAD: ● ACTS 20:7-12 9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. 10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.20: ● MARK 6:12-13... 12 They went out and preached that people should repent. 13 They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them. ● ACTS 19:12 The Handkerchief of Paul healed sick people: 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. ● ACTS 5:15 The shadow of Peter healed the sick: so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. ➨SAINTS ARE NOT AMONG THE DEAD: AND THEIR INTERCESSION IS BIBLICAL: They share in the ressurrection of Jesus: (Protestants attack Biblical saints while they follow dead reformers) ● MATTHEW 27: 52 -53: When Jesus was raised from the dead Many were raised up with him. 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. ● LUKE 23 v 39-43...Jesus told the good thief "today you will be with me in paradise" ● REV 19 v 14...when Jesus returns he will be accompanied by his heavenly armies of saints. ● 2 COR 5 v 8...Paul tells us that to be absent with the body is to be with the Lord. ● JOHN 11 v 25-26...Jesus said I am the ressurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives, believing in me will never die. ● LUKE 1619-30 The story of the rich man and Lazarus show The Rich man, Lazarus and Abraham, all concious and interacting with each other even though they have physically died. ● LUKE 9:30-31 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: 31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. (Moses & Elijah were alive, and were yalking with Jesus) ● REV 6:10 The souls of the martyrs are before the throne of God, crying out for justice. (they are conscious and actively petitioning God) ● HEB 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, ● MATT 17:1-13 ...At the Transfiguration of Jesus, he is seen speaking to Moses and Elijah, further showing that Holy ones of God are not among the dead. ➨HONOURING MARY: LUKE 1:48: All generations will call Mary Blessed. We Catholics are the ones who call her the BLESSED Virgin Mary and treat her accordingly. RELICS OF THE SAINTSS ● 2 Kings 13:21 The Bones of Elijah revived a man: 21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet ● ACTS 19:12 The Handkerchief of Paul healed sick people: 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. ● ACTS 5:15 The shadow of Peter healed the sick: so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. ● MARK 6:12-13... 12 They went out and preached that people should repent. 13 They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them. (the use of oil, a material substance was used to heal people) ➨NOWHERE does the bible permit protestants (or anyone else) to Scrutinize & monitor the prayers of other people, nor to judge their sincerity or their salvation. Protestantism does not come from jesus. It began with Martin Luther in 1517 & exists Only to oppose the Catholic church which Jesus founded 15 centuries B4 the protestant revolt. They only know & accept the PARTS of the Bible that suit them and they do not have an accurate bible either.

When a pastor invests significant time in criticizing another faith, particularly the religion upon which Western Civilization was founded and the faith that played a crucial role in the formation of the Holy Bible, it raises questions. One may ponder whether the inspiration behind such sermons comes from the Holy Spirit or perhaps a different source. These discourses lack a spirit of generosity and seem more geared towards reinforcing a sense of satisfaction in embracing diluted doctrines while outright dismissing 2,000 years of Church history. It is somewhat astonishing to think that a genuine follower of Christ would overlook the rich history of their God. I often wonder why people who are possess by a demon often are sent to a Catholic priests for the Rite of Exorcism by their protestant pastors.

 @Turin21 *Too bad. You have no answer once again.* *It is not difficult to see R Church was not the nt Church of the Bible. A simple read of Scriptures suffices.* 1. Catholics claim CHURCH refers to Roman Catholic Church. BIBLE says CHURCH refers to all churches. Acts 5:11, Acts 8:1, Mat 16:18. HISTORY tells us Roman Church was just one local Church a member of the Pentarchy. 2. Catholics claim Roman Church was the CHURCH CHRIST founded (First Church) or one true church. BIBLE says First Local Church was Jerusalem Church. Acts 2. Not Roman Catholic Church. 3. Catholics claim there is only One Church. BIBLE mentions both CHURCH and Churches. “CHURCH” refers to the Body of Christ Eph 5:30, Col 1:18 consisting of all churches. Acts 5:11, Acts 8:1 Mat 16:18. “Churches” refers to local churches Acts 9:31, Acts 15:41 and believers Romans 16:5, 1 Cor 16:19, 4. Catholics claim to be the first believers. BIBLE says first believers were Jewish Christians. Acts 2, Acts 11:26, NOT roman catholics. 5. Catholics claim Pope is the head of the CHURCH. BIBLE says JESUS is the HEAD OF THE CHURCH. Eph 1:22, Eph 5:23, Col 1:18. 6. Catholics claim outside Roman Church there is NO SALVATION. BIBLE says “apart from Jesus there is NO SALVATION”. Acts 4:12, 1 Cor 3:11. 7. Catholics claim submit to Roman Pontiff to be saved. BIBLE says “apart from Jesus there is NO SALVATION”. Acts 4:12, 1 Cor 3:11. 8. Catholics claim devote to Mary to be saved. BIBLE says “apart from Jesus there is NO SALVATION”. Acts 4:12, 1 Cor 3:11. 9. Catholics claim partake Roman Church sacraments to be saved. BIBLE says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16. 10. Catholics claim Roman Church inherited infallible authority from Peter. BIBLE does not say that in Mat 16 or John 20 or John 21. 11. Catholics claim Roman pontiff inherited infallible authority from Peter. BIBLE does not say that in Mat 16. 12. Catholics claim bishop of ROME = the pope. BIBLE does not say that. 13. Catholics claim there is an office of bishop of bishops/universal bishop/pope. BIBLE does not speak of such an office. History tells us the first bishop of bishops came in AD590-600s. 14. Roman Church has all the false unbiblical clergies - Roman priests, roman cardinals, roman pontiff, monks, nuns, friars, … BIBLE mentions only pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, apostles, deacons, bishop, elders. Titus 1:5, Eph 4:11, 1 Tim 3. 15. Roman Church claim its doctrines come from traditions of Apostles. " St. Ambrose "God has entrusted the keys and treasures of Heaven to Mary." @The Mysterious Cynthia X *You see? You cannot refute this too. Your lack of knowledge is evident.* *Jesus, Apostles and disciples all turned to the Scriptures when they taught. They did not rely on traditions of Moses or Pharisees for doctrines. They quoted Written Word / Scriptures around 150 times in NT. So Sola Scriptura is true!* Mat 2:5 So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD.' " Mat 4:6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER YOU,' and, IN THEIR HANDS THEY SHALL BEAR YOU UP, LEST YOU DASH YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.' " Mat 4:7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'YOU SHALL NOT TEMPT THE LORD YOUR GOD.' " Mat 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND HIM ONLY YOU SHALL SERVE.' " Mat 11:10 For this is he of whom it is written: 'BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER BEFORE YOUR FACE, WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY BEFORE YOU.' Mat 21:13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' but you have made it a 'DEN OF THIEVES.'" Mat 26:24 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born." *Even nt Church of the Bible (Apostles and elders) appealed to the Word of God for determination of doctrines in Acts 15. The council did not decide based on their own words; neither on traditions of Pharisees or Moses. They based their decisions on "WHAT GOD SAID". Yes they met at Jerusalem council Acts 15 to discuss. But they appeal to what God says. Using God's word to decide what to do!* *Bible says decision was made by Apostles and elders. Not single leader Peter!! (let alone pope). Acts 15:6, 16:4.* Act 15:6 Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. Act 16:4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem. *1. Peter appealed using what God told him:* to him rgd his vision of the clean and unclean animals in Acts 10.. That gentiles are accepted. Act 10:13 And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat." Act 10:14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean." Act 10:15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common." Act 15:7 And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: "Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. *2. James appealed using the Word of God:* Act 15:13 And after they had become silent, James answered, saying, "Men and brethren, listen to me: Act 15:14 Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. Act 15:15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written: Act 15:16 'AFTER THIS I WILL RETURN AND WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID, WHICH HAS FALLEN DOWN; I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL SET IT UP; Act 15:17 SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, EVEN ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SAYS THE LORD WHO DOES ALL THESE THINGS.' Act 15:18 "Known to God from eternity are all His works. Act 15:19 Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God, *3. Apostles Barnabas and Paul appealed to the “works of GOD done on the Gentiles”.* Act 15:12 Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles.

@@margaretlobo9466 The difference between Catholicism & Protestantism ---- Faith, Hope and Love - the greatest is Love - 1Cor.13:13. There is no difference between protestant and catholic if they have repented of their sins and follow Christ. These are Commandments, not suggestions - for which there are Penalties for non-fulfillment - Hell for those who do not love , and for those who do it imperfectly, the exile - similar to OT 70 year Babylonian captivity - Sorry but the scriptures are very clear on if you repent God places your spirit in the heavenly realm with Jesus Eph 2:6 and there is no removal by God because you have sinned .You are given eternal life because of what Christ has done on the cross for you Coll 2:9-15 Eternal life is not eternal if you can lose it!. in the Prison of Purgatory where " * until * last-penny " Divine justice has to be first served - Matthew 5:25-26 - before progressing to Heaven. Purgatory is supposed to be the final clean up of the stain of unrepentant sin in your life and yet the scriptures tell us God removes all the sins from us when we repent and follow Him. There is no final cleanup as Christ has made you righteous in the sight of God , Christ has washed you in His blood to wash all your sins away , Christ has sanctified you 1 Cor 6:11 Despite being born-again, we still have our Fallen human nature, which as Paul states we do things we ought not to do as well as not do the things we ought - including unloving words and thoughts - with which we fall again and again. If anybody says s/he has no sin, is a liar and the truth is not in him/her. Your spirit is born again because like Mary the mother of Jesus we are born in the image of Adam, not God. Our spirits are born again , our flesh is not. Because He was going away, Jesus lovingly breathed His Spirit and empowered His Apostles on the very day of Resurrection from the dead to forgive sin - or to retain them - John 20:22-23. You may not have noticed but the apostles do not exist anymore nor is there any concept in scripture to say there was any succession of forgiving /retaining sins given to anyone else. All believers have the ability to forgive or retain as the prayer that Jesus said pray like this , indicates forgive us as we forgive others . if we choose to retain the sins of others it is to our detriment as we would not be following the example set by Christ. And James 5:16 urges - Declare your sins to one another - and that is why Catholics confess to their Priests. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. This has nothing to do with forgiving sins but everything to do with maintaining a relationship with fellow believers and God. Protestants reject the formula of Jesus - God & Judge - John 5:22 - and thereby retain their sins. Your statement is not even close to what that verse says? A misquote? And Jesus also lovingly gave and **Commanded us to eat & drink *** His Body and Blood as * Real * Food & Drink for our Eternal Life - John 6:53-58. Catholics thus believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in Holy Communion and the need to receive it * worthily * - 1 Cor. 11:27. Despite this, Protestants declare the Lord's Supper to be " symbolic " Jesus does NOT want you to literally eat him. He wants you to eat up His word. That is why he said that he is the "bread of life". Anyone can see that this is not what he meant and I see it was quite convenient of you to purposely dismiss the rest of the context, which provides the explanation. So you just go on re-crucifying the Lord every Mass because what you are essentially saying is that Christ's work on the cross was not sufficient so you have to relive it every time you hold a communion. Paul also states in Hebrews that Christ's sacrifice was sufficient. So the bread is still bread. The wine is still wine. No mysticism occurring. Each Mass i have seen so far has the priest consecrate the bread and the wine and gives the bread to the Catholic but not the wine, so half a communion unlike what Jesus did. And Baptism - a one-time event - washes all our * Prior * sins, but we are still responsible and accountable for sins committed after. Please show in scripture that baptism only removes prior sins? However the rest of your statement is correct as we do confess our sins that we commit and even if we do not we are still forgiven because of what Christ has done. It is all Christ and none of us that gets us to heaven. 1 John 2:1,2 If we sin Jesus is there for us . We confess our sins to maintain our relationship with God even though we are totally forgiven of all of our sins .

There is our savior who has done everything possible for a sinful person to get to heaven without the punishment of sins Coll 2:9-15 However the sinner must repent and call upon the Lord to receive life and eternal life is given. As an example, if I keep on breaking your windows and God keeps on forgiving me unconditionally, then God will be unjust to you. unconditionally? No there are consequences to sin and they happen while you are alive . You reap what you sow. As a believer you are forgiven of all your sin , your name is written in the book of life , you are given salvation as a gift , you are given eternal life . Now all that is applied to your Spirit NOT your flesh. However, in Matthew 18:32-35 - Jesus warns that the Heavenly Father will send to the torturers those who do not forgive. Even the Lord's Prayer declares that God will only forgive us in the measure that we forgive others. And in Hebrews 10:30, God declared - Vengeance is Mine - I will repay - when the Lord will judge His people. Who is Jesus talking to? Is Jesus talking to born again believers in the Lord Jesus or the Jews under the law? We are no longer under the law the moment we repent , get baptized , and follow the Lord. 2 Cor 5:16 So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Although we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: Sixth. If Jesus paid our sin debt in full, why does God still require to chastise and scourge - every - child before He will receive them into Heaven - Hebrews 12:6. Throughout Scripture, God portrays Himself as a Father. Those who have received Jesus as Savior are His children (John 1:12; Galatians 3:26). He uses the analogy of father/son because we understand it. He compares Himself to a loving father who not only blesses but disciplines His beloved children for their own good. Hebrews 12 goes on to show that those who do not receive God’s discipline are not legitimate children (verse 8). A loving father carefully watches his son, and when that son defies his orders and heads for danger, the father disciplines him to keep him safe. God does that with us. When a born-again child of God heads for sin or refuses to resist temptation, our Heavenly Father brings chastening into his life to direct him back to holiness. Chastening can come in the form of guilty feelings, unpleasant circumstances, loss of peace, relationship fractures, or any number of negative consequences for choosing sin. Sometimes, the chastening of the Lord can be physical illness or even death (1 Corinthians 11:30). Often, people ask if God is “punishing” them for wrong choices in the past. All our punishment for sin was exhausted upon Jesus on the cross (Romans 5:9). The wrath of God was poured out on Him so that for those who are “in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1) no wrath remains. When we give our lives to Christ, our Substitute for sin, our sin is forgiven and God remembers it no more (Hebrews 8:12; 10:15-18). However, often, our wrong choices in the past have brought about consequences now. God does not necessarily remove the natural consequences of sin when we repent. Those consequences are tools God can use to teach us, to prevent us from repeating the same mistakes, and to remind us of God’s grace. Seventh. Why will Christians who do works of the flesh not inherit the Kingdom - Galatians 5:19-21. 1 Cor 15:50 Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. A believer in the Lord is a new creation . Read Gal 5:10-21 and you find Paul is pointing out what to avoid not that the believer is doing these things. Eight. If a Believer of your denomination today declares that Jesus is Lord - Romans 10:9 - but tomorrow crosses the street, joins the church of satan and worships the devil, will s/he be saved ?? Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. 8 The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. So lets see the individual confesses Christ, gets sealed by the Holy Spirit; is given the gift of salvation , is baptized , rises in newness of life , gets the fruit of the Holy Spirit , and walks in the spirit and not the flesh , somehow crosses the street and joins the church of satan ? 1 Cor 3:15 salvation of the individual is not in question but the works of the individual are. As the context starts in verse 11 you see the individual is building upon the foundation of Christ . All of the individuals works are burnt up and they enter heaven with nothing to show for their life. You will not find any verse that tells you that God takes your spirit out of the heavenly realm , or the Holy Spirit removes His seal from you for any reason, and you do not find God telling Jesus that His sacrifice was not enough to cover the sins of the individual who sins. What if we do sin 1 John 2:1 Jesus is there for us. crossing the street to the church of satan is the same as lusting over a shiny new car , sin is sin and all of us have sinned and all of us will continue to sin. @Michael Speyrer *You are a f. You are just proving Stephen was "full of grace" too. So was Stephen sinless too?* you said Both John 1:14 and Acts 6:8 lack a conjugation of the verb χαριτόω, like that encountered in Luke 1:28. Instead, they both have πλήρης χάριτος, a phrase which means “full of grace.” Accordingly, Jerome translated πλήρης χάριτος in both verses into the Vulgate by the Latin phrase plenus gratia, which, like gratia plena, means “full of grace” when translated into English. John 1:14 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Douay-Rheims, 1582 XIV et Verbum caro factum est et habitavit in nobis et vidimus gloriam eius gloriam quasi unigeniti a Patre plenum gratiae et veritatis Vulgate Acts 6:8 8 And Stephen, full of grace and fortitude, did great wonders and signs among the people. VIII Stephanus autem plenus gratia et fortitudine faciebat prodigia et signa magna in populo Vulgate If Jerome translated both the Greek phrase πλήρης χάριτος and κεχαριτωμένη into Latin by a declension of the phrase plenus gratia, then this suggests that both πλήρης χάριτος and κεχαριτωμένη have the same meaning and may be translated into English by the same phrase, “full of grace.” But, can these two different Greek phrases actually share the same meaning? Koine Greek is (was) a flexible language, allowing the author to render a thought with a variety of words. For example, the apostle Paul wrote, «μὴ μεθύσκεσθε οἴνῳ», meaning “do not be drunk with wine,”5 although he could have also wrote, «μὴ οἰνοῦσθε» to convey the same meaning. Similarly, one way to render the idea of being full of grace is πλήρης χάριτος, yet another equally valid way is a conjugation of the verb χαριτόω. The Greek verb χαριτόω, being an -οω verb, theoretically could mean “to make grace; to cause to be grace”; however, these meanings are nonsensical. Consequently, according to the analogy of the verbs listed in Table 1, χαριτόω must mean “to endow or fill with grace,” and when conjugated in the passive voice, it means “to be endowed or filled with grace.” Hence, Jerome was correct by translating κεχαριτωμένη into Latin as gratia plena, meaning “full of grace.” As an -οω verb, χαριτόω can certainly possess the meaning of “to endow or fill with grace.” Footnotes 1 LSJ, p. 1978 2 In Eph. 1:6, it is conjugated in the 3rd person, singular number, aorist tense, active voice, indicative mood. 3 p. 182, §614 4 The Codex Amiatinus, dated to the 8th century A.D., is the earliest extant manuscript of the nearly complete Latin Vulgate. 5 Eph. 5:18 References Liddell, Henry George; Scott, Robert; et al. That would be selling their own Priests wives into slavery after dissolving the union. If you also get to have both elements at the Lords Supper feel free to thank the nearest protestant as at that time the wine/blood was considered too Holy for the non-priest to have. There are still places today where Roman Catholic priests administer only the bread to church goer. I could go on, some of the protestants stayed in the Roman Catholic church and corrected its doctrine internally in accordance to what the protestants were accusing. As a funny aside you would agree with the protestants on at least 75% of their complaints if you knew what they were. Most of the them were only concerning the RCC of violating their own bylaws, not doctrinal disputes. That is unless your ok with the RCC violating their own bylaws. You said "The Catholic church decides what us a valid marriage" "Only "God" decided what is a valid marriage" There fixed it for you. This was defined in writing in the OG OT to Moses and the Jews by God, not the Roman Catholic church. You can find this in Genesis and Expounded later by Moses and restated by the Apostle Paul. Hint it hasn't changed. The church has only one role, to agree with God.

Now they only have a little left, unfortunately it's also central to their doctrines. Also, in most of the pentecostal arguments that IV heard, it's said that one is saved by faith alone in Jesus. So there shouldn't be a problem with the Church or any other denomination as long as they believe in the Lord Jesus, don't you think?

(3) Why should I listen to you rather than to the Catholic Church? Are you more authoritative and infallible than the Catholic Church? Do you want to tell me that all that you have written here is not your understanding but that of the Holy Spirit? 5. “Any church or human that preaches to their congragration that salvation is through Christ and also through membership raises a red flag to me” Is this your understanding or that of the Holy Spirit or that of the Bible? Who is the arbiter of the truth: you or the Bible? Have you any idea why Jesus founded a Church? Is baptism necessary for salvation? Does salvation through Jesus rule out the Church, sacraments, Church traditions, and so on? I could go on. It has to be defended from distortion, false conclusions based on personal interpretation. Who is distorting the Bible the most? It is certainly non-Catholics. Their doctrine of 'scripture alone' is based on complete distortion of the Bible. Personal interpretation of the Bible is another great harm done to the integrity and truthfulness of the Bible. Act 15:7 And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: "Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. *2. @@darkwater482 First, To find where Scripture mentions the name of the Catholic Church we are going to look at the verse, Acts 9:31 which reads: "Meanwhile the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was built up. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers." Now, notice if we look at the verse in Greek, there are two Greek words used in this verse which we can find. These two words in Greek are "Ekklesia Kataholos", now you may ask me, How does this relate to the Catholic Church? Well let us look at the etymology of the catholic church shall we? The Catholic Church's name in Greek "Katholikos" comes from the Greek words "Kata" meaning "In respect of" and "Holos" meaning "whole", and what two greek words are found in Acts 9:31? "Ekklesia Kata holos"! So therefore one can say that the Catholic Church is mentioned in the scriptures. We also know from testimony that the early Christians themselves were Catholic and that they believed in the sacrifice of the Mass as we find in the Didache which is also known as the Lord's teaching's through the apostles. Chapter 14 of the Didache states: "But every Lord's day gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure. But let no one who is at odds with his fellow come together with you, until they be reconciled, that your sacrifice may not be profaned. For this is that which was spoken by the Lord: "In every place and time offer to me a pure sacrifice; for I am a great King, says the Lord, and my name is wonderful among the nations." We know that they believed in Jesus' body, blood, soul and divinity was truly present in the Eucharist, which I will again back up with Scripture, with Matthew 26:26 stating, "The Institution of the Lord’s Supper While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”, Mark 14:22 stating, " The Institution of the Lord’s Supper While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” and Luke 22:19 stating, "Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” The aramaic in these verses is literal, Jesus is literally saying in these verses, "This is my body". Concerning the early church fathers, in passage 7:3 of Ignatius' letter to the Romans, he writes, "I have no delight in corruptible food, nor in the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, the heavenly bread, the bread of life, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who became afterwards of the seed of David and Abraham; and I desire the drink of God, namely His blood, which is incorruptible love and eternal life."

@@csbstudios9979 I’m familiar with the etymology and the Roman usurping of the universal church. There was always a remnant of the true church which was never Romanized or paganized. We are the church. The Body of Christ has never been an institution. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:4,5) For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. (1 Corinthians 3:9) As to communion, bothe the Old and New Testament forbid consumption of blood. Would you have God’s word contradict itself? (Acts 15:20, Acts 15:29, Acts 21:25, Revelation 16:6, Genesis 9:4, others) In the discourse of the bread, John 6, Jesus tells us it is faith that provides salvation; 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (John 6:29) 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:40) 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (John 6:47) 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63) Peter didn’t say the “flesh” of eternal life; 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. (John 6:68) The Roman church claims to have pulled Christ down from the heavens untold millions of time into a cracker but scripture says once. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:12) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he APPEAR THE SECOND TIME without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28) In the words of Jesus; Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? (Matthew 15:17)

Yet BIBLE says Peter (supposed R Church first leader) had mother in law. Bible says celibacy is not a qualification for clergies. Mat 8:14- 15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39. 3. Catholics say confess to R priests in a box. BIBLE says nothing about confessing to priests in a box. Bible says confess to GOD only. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10. 5. Catholics say drink of the physical blood of Jesus. Yet OT and NT both say do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26. 6. Catholics say pray to passed on Mary and "saints". Yet BIBLE says do not contact the dead. NT Church did not record a single case of NT believers asking passed on saints to pray for them. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19. 7. Catholics make and bow down to statues. BIBLE says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5. 8. Catholics sprinkles “holy water”. But NT Church of the Bible mentioned nothing about “holy water”. There was no record of any Apostles sprinkling “holy water” on believers. Catholics claimed “holy water” came from OT. Yet Num 5:17 says “holy water” was water used to test adulterous women in OT temple. Hardly the same. Those were for Old Covenant Jews. Not New Testament Christians. 9. Catholics say Peter was pope - bishop of all bishops. Yet BIBLE says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Bible says nothing of the office of bishop of bishops. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18. 10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it. Jesus said “not to lord over others”. 11. Catholics has clergy priesthood. Bible says clergy priesthood was done away with in New Testament. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10. 12. Catholics preaches Works Salvation (faith + good works + partake R sacraments + submit to R pontiff + be in R Church + devote to Mary = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Bible says Works Salvation is cursed. Gal 1:8-9. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10. 13. Catholics says they must do Penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. Catholic Bible changes the word “repentance” in NT into “penance”. Original Greek NT does not use or mean the word penance. Penance = work to atone for sins. Repentance = change of heart. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6. 14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it. 15. Catholics say Islam and Christianity have the same GOD. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity.

I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'HE WHO EATS BREAD WITH ME HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.' Joh 13:26 Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it." And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. Joh 13:27 Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly." Joh 13:28 But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him. Joh 13:29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, "Buy those things we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor. Joh 13:30 Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. @Turin21 *Your statement comes from lack of knowledge of the Bible. Church in the Bible does not mean what you meant.* *Bible does not say any particular Church is the "One holy and Catholic apostolic Church" or the "one true church" or the Church or Universal Church. Church has always meant all churches. You are clearly given misinformation by R Catholic "church" this local church that makes you think its the Church.* *Bible mentions both Church and churches. Let's look at all the usages of the words Church and Churches to know what they really meant.* 1. *Bible mentions Church in general referring to all churches as a whole.* 1Co 11:22 What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you. 1Co 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 1Co 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 2. *Bible mentions churches as local churches* Act 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. Act 15:41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches. Act 16:5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily. Rom 16:4 who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Rom 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you. 1Co 7:17 But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches. 1Co 11:16 But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God. 3. *Bible mentions "church = believers".* Rom 16:5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia to Christ. 1Co 16:19 The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. Col 4:15 Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas and the church that is in his house. 4. *R Catholics have the wrong definition of Church. To R Catholics, Church meant R Catholic Church which Bible says its Not!* you said But there was only ONE Church founded by Jesus Christ and that is the Catholic Church. HIS CHURCH-singular. The rest (and I'm sure you must know their names) were heretical. Only One, HOLY, CATHOLIC, AND APOSTOLIC.

 @Turin21 *Too bad. Historians and scholars all knew about these different canons before ad300s. Your lack of knowledge is so evident.* Clement of Rome mentioned at least eight New Testament books (AD 95). Ignatius of Antioch acknowledged about seven books (AD 115). Polycarp, a disciple of John the apostle, acknowledged 15 books (AD 108). Later, Irenaeus mentioned 21 books (AD 185). Hippolytus recognized 22 books (AD 170-235). The New Testament books receiving the most controversy were Hebrews, James, 2 Peter, 2 John, and 3 John. The first “canon” was the Muratorian Canon (AD 170). The Muratorian Canon included all of the 27 books except Hebrews, James, and 3 John. Eusebius of Caesarea (AD 320-330) recognized 22 books, 5 as doubtful. Cyril of Jerusalem (AD 350) recognised 27 books exclude Revelation include Gospel of Thomas. Council of Laodicea (AD 363) stated that only the Old Testament (along with one book of the Apocrypha) and 26 books of the New Testament (everything but Revelation) were canonical and to be read in the churches. Athanasius of Alexandria (AD 367) recognised 27 books as authoritative. Gregory of Nazianus (AD 390) recognised 27 books as authoritative. The Council of Hippo (AD 393-419) African canons affirmed 27 books as authoritative. Jerome (AD 394) recognised 27 books as authoritative. Augustine of Hippo (AD 395-400) affirmed 27 books as authoritative. The Council of Carthage (AD 397) affirmed 26 books as authoritative exclude Revelation. The Council of Carthage (AD 419) affirmed 27 books as authoritative. you said Those canons are just in your imagination. You still can't name one. I challenge you.
