The trial was a Witch Hunt, on the fact, that a MAJORITY DEMOCRAT LEGISLATURE just conveniently passed a bill allowing for the statute of limitations on "sex crimes" to be opened. And Billionaire Seditionists prompted CARROLL, who is/was obsessed with sex, to sue Trump, except there was no police report, no evidence, no witnesses, and a HE SAID/SHE SAID scenario where she used a TV show, to make the charge of an alleged crime against Trump. And that NYC venue was hostile to Trump in all facets of the COURT SYSTEMS, and ignored a change of venue. And in all the trials the judges gave the impression of siding against Trump, for example, the judge threatened Trump's Team with CONTEMPT, they GAGGED Trump and his team from speaking out, and every time Trump's team objected, it was sustained and when the other side objected it was overruled. THIS WAS NO FAIR TRIAL.

The Sandmann case was an interesting example. The Washington Post, CNN and NBC Universal fought and then settled for undisclosed sums. Some suits against politicans were dismissed on legislative immunity (think about that). The New York Times, Rolling Stone, ABC, and CBS were able to skate due to a judge deciding what they said was "objectively unverifiable and thus unactionable opinions". The job of the press is to hold people to account. But they can make pronouncements with absolute impunity and you have to prove them wrong. Oh, and if you do fight them, the press can choose not to cover their own malfeasance. With Covington Catholic, they were operating outside the bounds of journalistic ethics. Journalism is meant to have a harm principle (and that's more pronounced when the subject of an article is a minor). Getting a random kid death threats because you thought he was being an ass is beyond the pale. A headline of "Teenager is an ass" isn't a headline. The news value of the story was non-existent. And then it became apparent that the fuller videos painted a radically different portrait and that some outlets had included factually inaccurate biographical information about the native american man to color events. I think some news organisations updated their stories with stealth edits, rather than overt corrections. Unless you have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all the occasions that news media botched stories, they can rely on pivoting from posturing about high standards ("journalism - such a noble profession.") to having a lawyer use the lowest standard. They can rely on public forgetfulness. And the news organisations think it's their job to talk about morality and integrity!

Not a lawyer but it would seem to be an even higher bar to reach to strip the Qualified Immunity from a judge. That’s the one thing I disagree with President Trump about is his rhetoric about making Qualified Immunity protections stronger which will virtually make those who enjoy its benefits even more untouchable. In a litigious society there has to be some protection but it’s already too extreme. Try to strip the QA from an everyday police officer in our present court system and see how far you get. You better have ironclad proof of a civil rights violation in a Federal lawsuit and it’s still not a guarantee let alone a District or Federal Judge.
