Mr. Dykstra, thank you for the tutorial on false shoulders. I have a better understanding now. Living by faith is contrary to EVERYTHING the world tells us. We are commanded to lay this burden at His throne. Phil. 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hey brother, couple things maybe 3, I been part of the discipline do to fraud been out of program but back with the group next week. I keep wondering what's next you have covered brass so much the last 2 years what else can you teach us on the subject right? It's simply amazing to watch how far your teachings have come for myself the last 4 years like our Lord you just keep delivering outstanding. And rightly so great job. So your passage in this video is my favorite of many. Until this point, imagine the disciples watching Jesus perform an teach so many teachings of the discipline how when alone they must have talked to each other having questions. And in astonishment, seeing Jesus walking on the water then calming the Sea for them. It's the first time all together he worked another miracle just for them. Being all together at the same time, how I bet you could see the wheels turning. ✝️

Thanks Greg! Good video! So I have been using this method for forming my 22bra from alpha 6bra brass. I usually use a pretty good amount of a false shoulder but no so much that I would gall my lungs. Usually it works great but sometimes I will get some that won't fire. I'm wondering if maybe it is because I don't take my ejector out? Can you confirm if that's what I'm seeing happen?

Can you do a very in depth video on stock adjustments (LOP / cheek height)? All of the LOP stuff seems to just be the old buttpad in the elbow trick. There has to be more to it than that. Wrist/elbow angle, neck angle, etc.

I'd like to start off by saying that I am a fan of your content and take your advice with a fair amount of weight. However, my curiosity is killing me, and I am wondering if some of these cartridges are Ackley improved cartridges, or are they something new entirely? Perhaps if it isn't a huge pain, I'd love to see a video that covers these cartridges and their development.

You had mentioned here that the benefit of a false shoulder is that you are able to run a full charge. For fireforming the 7PRCP, would you still recommend running a reduced charge of like 53g of H4831SC? I like that de-capping die you were using. Are those available for purchase? For the 7PRCP, I have decided to use SAC 6.5 PRC dies. I have (2) of them. In the first die, I'm running a .281 mandrel with a .7mm 30 degree, 304 Neck shoulder bushing. I'll use that die to expand from 6.5 to 7. This first die is based on the .0145" neck wall thickness of my virgin Lapua brass. In the second die, I'm running a .304 mandrel and Short Action Customs is currently making me some custom 6.5 PRC 30 Caliber 30-degree Neck Shoulder Bushings. In the second die, I'll be using the .304 mandrel with a .326 Neck shoulder bushing. I'm assuming that after expanding from 6.5 to 7, my neck wall thickness will be reduced to around .014", and that is how I will be setting this die up. I got (5) .30 Cal 30-degree 6.5 PRC bushings ordered. I got .326, .327, .328, .329, and .330. I'll be setting these (2) dies up to not bump the shoulder. The reason I decided to use these dies to expand is because I want to neck turn the virgin brass after I'm done expanding to .30 so I want there to be next to no neck / body runout. Plus, I get the benefit of fixing all those dinged necks before I neck turn and I'd like to neck turn in the virgin state. My Nexus press just showed up this week, but I'm still waiting on the custom .30 Cal 30-degree neck shoulder bushings. I'll be setting up the 7mm expanding die today. 👍

@@primalrights OK. I was planning to use these dies only for expanding virgin brass. I will not be using them for re-sizing my fired brass. For that I will be using the 7PRCP dies.

@@primalrights I invested in these dies so I could expand without inducing runout so I could then neck turn in the virgin 30 Cal state. After that, I’ll be creating the false shoulder with the 7PRCP False Shoulder Die.

I have so many questions on hand loading but I'm working on a gas gun and i know that's not your focus. Are there any other folks who might be able to help? Main thing I'm working on right now is that i can't get my once fired 6 arc hornady brass to fit with a .003 bump. It'll only close with a .008 bump
@primalrights
@primalrights 2 ай бұрын
Check your diameters at the body/shoulder junction and at the .200 line. Make sure you're getting resized enough. After that, check the radius of the body/shoulder and neck/shoulder junctions. On the brass, on the sizing die, and on the chamber.... all. They all need to be right and agree with each other, otherwise it will take a lot more setback to overcome the radius problem. I wouldn't like running an 8 thousandths bump.
@maker_greg
@maker_greg 2 ай бұрын
@primalrights on my fired cases diameter at the neck and shoulder grow by about .004, at the .2 datum it only expands about .001 but just above that the diameter at .28 from the head the case has a noticeable and consistent bulge to .445 which is the max diameter at the base including the .002 tolerance. On both new and sized brass the cases have noticeable side to side wiggle in the chamber. That's unusual right? I'm comparing brass in a proof barrel and jp bolt I also have. The cases both chamber on the same length headspace but the proof has no side to side wiggle. I know proof is made to a higher standard than my satern liberty barrel but that wiggle seems odd.
@primalrights
@primalrights 2 ай бұрын
@@maker_greg That just means they plugged a bit of an oversized chamber in it. Not uncommon for gas guns. That wouldn't inhibit chambering. From the sounds of it, sized cases fit in there easily, but still needs .008 of setback to chamber... given it's not a diameter problem, that leaves the radius problem... Which is a bit harder to diagnose.
@maker_greg

@primalrights thanks for the reply. I'm gonna do a chamber casting and see if I can get any more info on what's going on. I've got the proof barrel installed right now so I'm hoping that won't have the same issue and I can just move on. I've got a match on September 22nd so I need to develop a good load and practice before then. I'll dig into diagnosing the satern barrel in October. Love the channel and I've enjoyed interacting on the prn live streams. Bless
