What a beautiful tribute to a lovely man, i grew up lucky enough to enjoy the wonderful 1980 movie and the 1982 onwards series. Great actors and beautiful music...Fame, I sing the body electric and of course the beautiful and heartbreaking Starmaker 💔 will never forget these wonderful memories of a truly iconic movie and series.

I didn't know until a few months ago that this was a real life goodbye to Michael Thoma. I still get teary when I see it. They followed it up with Hot Lunch Jam so the episode ended on an upbeat note. Fame, and the kids who starred in it, were truly special.

I remember we got taught this in choir back in primary school 1998. Did not know where the song derived from untill now. Singing this song has so many layers of sadness in it that even though you were a child singing this you can honestly remember the feeling of the song. Real touchy. Not alot of songs like this that can make u touch the surface of sadness in different kinds of ways. Soulfood song big time.

That scene, knowing what they all did,,must have been massively difficult but so incredibly moving to all. I think that the reactions,,especially from the late Mr Thoma,,are way more than just acting or takes. Very very powerful tv from a truly remarkable era!

Even to this day this song still brings me to tears especially after my depression and anxiety I sometimes feel that part of the song becomes me when it says I have no home I belong to you that's how I felt last year when I tried to end my life but this song holds a strong emotional balance in my life for I know how to let years of emotional things in my life I love this song as well as watching the series back in the very early 80s as then I wanted to live in NYC

This episode still makes me weepy! I Loved Mr. Thoma in this show. My Mom had all of the seasons on VHS and in the late 90's and 2000's me and my sisters would watch on an old VHS machine until all the tapes finally snapped. This was my mom's favorite show when she was 12yrs to 16 yrs old. We surprised her on her 45th birthday (2015) with the whole series on DVD and we all had a "Fame" weekend! The Starmaker and Desdemona episodes are her favorites!! Wish Netflix or Roku would add this series!!

Those schoolgirl days Of telling tales, and biting nails, are gone But in my mind, I know they will still live on and on But how do you thank someone Who has taken you from crayons to perfume? It isn't easy, but I'll try If you wanted the sky, I would write across the sky in letters, That would soar a thousand feet high: "To Sir, With Love" Those awkward years Have hurried by. Why did they fly away? Why is it, Sir, Children grow up to be people one day? What takes the place of climbing trees, And dirty knees in the world outside? What is there for you I can buy? If you wanted the world, I'd surround it with walls. I'd scrawl In letters ten feet tall: "To Sir, With Love" The time has come For closing books; and long last looks must end And as I leave, I know that I am leaving my best friend A friend who taught me right from wrong, And weak from strong -- that's a lot to learn What -- what can I give you in return? If you wanted the moon, I would try to make a start... But I Would rather you let me give my heart To Sir, With Love
